Exporting finished refined petroleum products should have been what NNPC could be doing to bring in forex. Unfortunately, the sector is busy doing the reverse. Sad to see this level of incompetency.
The NNPCL of today is not the one we used to know. Unfortunately political and ethnic bitterness is keeping people like you from seeing things the way they are now.
You must understand that Nigeria is not your family backyard business. The ego must stop. We all must have a fair share that results from competent governance and can contribute positively to make Nigeria works not just hanging around, aiding and siding your cronies looters, and draining state treasury.
@@franakpan The NNPC have been doing the right things in the last four years. NNPC have declared profits running into hundreds of billions in three years. The NNPC has also revived two of its four refineries with the other two expected to come on stream this year.
Why is it that some of you only have your minds darkened with the spirit of condemnation.
Please tell NNPC to post its yeearly financial reports on the public domains. We patriotic Nigerians want to see her efforts and applaud her where it's deemed fit for the past five years. Don't just tell me billions of profits turned in by NNPC after all the oil swaps for loans with zero accountability. Where are the oil dollars being kept? Where and when are that profits declared? This does not add up. Why is it so hard for a public liability or corporation like NNPC to come out clearly in its yearly financial statements and declare its profits and losses? Nigerians must move past this status quo where bunch of people are dragging the nation backward. @rotimikayode1072
I hope they remember those poor communities they getting the crude and take good care of them. It's sad to have a situation where the indigienes are being impoverished and their resources exploited!

The policy of protectionism Dangote refinery seeks should be a double edged sword. That policy should include recruiting a certain percentage of Nigerians in their workforce.
Dangote should not worry about other companies importing fuel if his price is competitive. The companies will technically go out of business if they cannot beat his price. Nigeria should not encourage monopolistic market in the name of protecting local industries.
Imports means benefits to foreign industries, depletion of foreign exchange and devaluation of local currency

With all due respect, Madam. Ayo. Price of fuel ⛽️ sales is not the issue. The primary issue here is the inability of the NNPCL to compete favourable with the Dangote Refinery in a competitive marketplace. NNPCL ought to bring on board creative thinking and innovation of marketing strategies for its fuel ⛽️ importation, rather than evasive speculation and unfounded allegations of Dangote monopoly. It's an open market for every competent marketers ought to participate effectively and efficiently to bring about dynamic business opportunities and socio-economic development paradigm shift in Nigeria.
You don't know what you are talking about. This NNPC is still renovating its refineries and you expect a company still developing its assets to compete with an established company.
Besides, the NNPC of today is not the same NNPC we used to know. A lot of good developments are taking place in NNPC now.

With all due respect, Sir. NNPCL never admitted to anyone that it's currently renovating any refinery or refineries for the past twenty-five years till date. I have no idea where you got your information about it. The Nigeria market structure is designed for competition to bring about socio-economic development efficiency and effective delivery of goods and services for the people of Nigeria.
@muhammadghaliahmed6793 The NNPC have never carried out anything renovation until four years ago under the Buhari administration. Turn around maintenance used by politicians to siphone money to themselves is not the same as renovation.
Everything in the NNPC changed four years ago with a new leadership led by Mele Kyari. The NNPC has since then remitted more than N1. 4 trillion profit to the FG especially under the Tinubu administration.
Good things are happening in our country right now, but some people have decided and chosen not to see.

Saudi Arabiaa imports crude and fuel oil. It is not new. A combination of both helps to being down the price of oil in their local market. Nigeria cannot survive if it is depending on one source for its production. Once Dangote gains monopoly, he will determine the price. Hes not new at doing that. We have evidence everywhere of his products. The aim of his businesses is to monopolize and determine the cost of products. We want to drive down the prices of products, making Nigeria a true market economy, not money concentrated in the hands of a few
