Chris the man operating the skid steer is a very talented man I must say and I hope your pay him well. there are not many out there that can see the whole area and work it.
400 tons is a lot of weight. Aren't you concerned that by putting so much weight in one spot of the planet - where it obviously wasn't before - and by removing it from another area of the planet, you could shift earth's weight across it's rotational axis and increase global warmi .............. sorry, I had too much coffee today.
400 tons is nothing as that can fall in a light rain. 1 foot of water over 1 acre is 1,359 tons so a pond would have a much larger effect on the earth then spreading a little stone around.
i was telling the owner of gravely grading of western north carolina about u yesterday while delivering to him,as i was leaving i noticed he had a volvo 210 excavator and a takeuchi skid steer as well
Todd Roberts : You're either joking or plum crazy. I just watched the video of Chris laying in that driveway with parking area before I came to this one. Chris is smooth as hell and doesn't waste movement. Watching Tim in this video drove me bat shit crazy. Especially when he kept turning into the pile and getting all those fucking rocks in the sprocket and idler. I ended up having to fire one of my guys cause he wouldn't stop doing this even after I warned him 3 times. I gave him the option to switch to flat-work (scrubbing concrete) but his ego was too far out there so he said no. No sweat off my balls in the end. Nobody is going to tear the shit out of my expensive equipment. I can totally understand why Chris won't let ANYBODY drive his 220.
How much damage did the stone do to the tracks between the idlers and do you factor the wear and tear into the bid? Great skills on the track loader by the way.
anytime the ground is spongy dig the muck out first then put some ballast rock down and then recycled rock on top fabric on bottom have seen hundred ton cranes walk on water beds
When the bucket is flat on the ground and you are moving forward or backward spreading stone, are you floating the bucket? Amazing job and great videos....thanks!
I'm not sure what your doing but I think I have an idea. You drive the skid steer back and forth, the the bucket of the Volvo loader goes back and forth. Do you have a license to place crowds into hypnotic trances. Thats not right but I keep coming back. Is the problem you or us? Thanks for sharing.
@@letsdig18 oh ok do you have a reason? Lol you dont have to answer if you dont want to. I'm more of a Volvo and Cat Fanatic. But when it comes to Skid steers I'd have to go with Cat. I like Volvo for their Excavators.
I definitely recommend you try their line of mini excavators as well they have an insane amount of cab room and function just as well as their skid steers
Amen! I had the same issue! Doctor said it was “micro trauma” everyday from loader work and I paid for it years later. Be careful out there guys! Great videos always!
Trucks would definitely not be able to make it look that good. Ends up being high and low in spots where you would end up making a mess going over it a second time. Makes more sense to just do it with the skid. Once.
I think you should sit in the truck and put the window down every now and then just to yell at Tim. Do some pointing and put the window back up...Tim's got it to easy around there.
From a person who doesn't know much about your trade, why didn't you use your nice orange grader you have at home? Either way you do some excellent work sir.
I am not in this trade too, but my guess is that the orange grader is simply too big for this job. Graders like long straight or slightly curved roads, but they are not very useful on tight turns, narrow roads or in areas like the relatively small parking lot that borders on fences, trees and other landscape that would get torn up by the graders 'overhang'. Remember, the grader's blade is in the center of the vehicle and in order to grade to the edge of the parking lot, the front or rear end would extend several feet outside the parking lot, but there are fences and trees there. Besides, the skidsteer can turn on a dime and move a bucket of gravel to another location in seconds, but trying to turn the grader on this lot to go another direction would be super tight and very time consuming.
Good day boys Tim I know your truck can spread rock so why don’t you do the more often it seams like it would be a lot faster and easier on your equipment Thanks
Tell us CHRIS your the one of the only Americans that uses a 4in1 bucket but you don’t use it where it would work the best? Tearing a pile apart and short spread is where you can move some dirt ( gravel )
Yes but,..why didn't you use your Grader, maybe too costly to move to this site? Seriously, I'm just asking, because I thought this job would be perfect for a Grader.
I would ask a stupid question or make a stupid comment like some but I can think of anything any more dumb than some of the comments I have already read so I will just say. “Slick job Driver”
Hey Chris, really enjoy your video's. I was just wondering if you have to ask permission to film from the property owner? Keep up the good work, I look forward to the new ones Everytime they come up. Thanks
@@pirox2720 Well I won't dispute your word but Takeuchi calls it a track loader. They a have a whole nother category of machines they call skid steers.

Impressive skid steer driving. Not a wasted moment between the bucket or the machine. Very nice.
Tim has been a awesome addition to your business. He's a really fantastic worker and does a great job.
Very efficient! Using both ends of the machine to spread the stone!
Nicely done Driver..
Love listening and watching gravel being moved and spreqd!
If power was measured by noise directly that would be the most badass skid steer ever...
At least no wet spot where the water line ran through...
Spreading 400 tons of stone, thats a lot of stone Chris nice Skid steer operation Letsdig18 👌
Looks sweet bro it finished up real nice from what you started with. Loving some of the comments, there is some great thinking minds in this world.

you guys got that project looking good. those horses are always expensive for sure.
You should make a video on how to finish grade inside of forms for a concrete pour
Looks awesome guys!

those high drop spreads are great

Louisiana Dirt 218 🤣

Under what conditions would you put down fabric? And, do you ever put a larger stone down first before the fine stuff? Thanks,
i always wonder that too

man that thing is LOUD!!
Looks to me you need a dump truck driver that knows how to spread rock. You been done a lot faster. It does look good. Have a great day and be safe
14 G motor grader and D 4 and bang that job out by noon and be fishing by 1:00pm great video looks great.
When calculating materials what depth did you plan for on this job?
Very nice !
no fabric to keep the stone sinking ???

How long should it take to spread 1 load (20 tons) of stone with a machine similar to this one?
When the bucket is flat on the ground and you are moving forward or backward spreading stone, are you floating the bucket? Amazing job and great videos....thanks!

What is your personal favorite machine to run?
Nice job. What kind of gravel is that?
And you call this work? Looks more like fun to me!
By the way what size stone are you laying out and what is the price per ton in the pit for your area?
Chris, what is that mix or blend of stone you are using in this video, looks great!
Wheres the 4n1 bucket? Seems like that would work better.
Spread it on! Lol! Looks great!
What is the capacity of the bucket on the tracked loader?
Hi man, love your videos, is that 57 stone? does it compact well?

Hey Chris how many ton will your big new dump truck hold ????? Or did you guys,, have a truck with a trailer dump haul in for you. Take care JUNKMANDO
nice job that was a lot of rock .
Time to Rock and Roll!!!!
How many hours do you have on your skidsteer now, have you had any problems with it?
Don’t you get whip-lash “back and forthing” so fast like that? I got three bulging discs in my neck from my big Bobcat! No suspension at all!
Amen! I had the same issue! Doctor said it was “micro trauma” everyday from loader work and I paid for it years later. Be careful out there guys! Great videos always!
How’s your new Takeuchi holding up now you had it a while any problems with it ,if you could respond to this as I’m looking for an up grade on mine
Advice from me: Don’t get a Takeuchi, get a Caterpillar, 289D is a VERY impressive machine and I love mine
do you have a bad idler in the track on that machine? sounds like a clanky bit is moving more than it should when it's moving
Faster faster faster
Is this considered "regrading the stone"?
Track skid steers are so much better than wheeled ones
Some mwters boys. Gj
Is this a private home? How do you like the Takeuchi and is it a good reliable machine?
yes, its been a pretty good machine. they are really strong
Why didn't you tailgate spread what you could then spread with skid steer?
Guessing it might be to soft still for the trucks to run through the lot
I'm guessing that they did and didn't show it. Pretty small lot for a quad axle.
for the driveways we spread with the truck for the parking lot it was just easier for me to spread it
Trucks would definitely not be able to make it look that good. Ends up being high and low in spots where you would end up making a mess going over it a second time. Makes more sense to just do it with the skid. Once.
Try spreading over those stump holes... you’d have bigger swingers than most.
Unless you like your tip truck to lay down and have a rest
Poor timmy did all the work lol
i ran the skid steer lol

yeah I was over running the skid steer that day
From a person who doesn't know much about your trade, why didn't you use your nice orange grader you have at home? Either way you do some excellent work sir.
easier to just used the skid steer and it was already there
makes complete sense to me. thanks for the reply! @@letsdig18

Muy bueno 😸😸😸😸😸
What kind of stone are you spreading?
abc/ crush and run. its a base material for driveways. once it sets and gets hard people usually spread pure gravel over it
Chris...will your next skidsteer be a Takeuchi or are you going to another brand? If you are going to change brand, why not 100% happy with Takeuchi?
ill get another one
@@letsdig18 thx man
