You should be fine with water blocks too cause they not technically a full block they dip down a bit under a full block, but they are full blocks underwater. This is all suggestive things this a challenge is just fun in general! ^^
Milked a cow for its nutritional fluid EDIT: when you place water i suspect it duplicates when the block state doesnt update properly, which could be done if you double tap the place button too. However you should be able to place the extra water in the water bucket into the water block that had spawned already and then pick it up again with the bucket to remove the water source if you dont want it. Exactly what I used to do too 🤣 it was so much easier to spawn in those end portal blocks than do the whole survival thing Ps3 limitations made the world super small so you're probably right that it had drawbacks elsewhere too 🫡
Just to clarify on the ps3 version (which I also have) everything you need to end the game WILL spawn nearby you, and most structures spawn on the map, however some surface structures (such as temples, shipwrecks etc) have a smaller chance to spawn
Man, good job on Sniper Duel. I had the PS Vita version which also has it, and the problem with it is that all of the patches and updates makes it so difficult. On version 1.0 the despawn/render distance is over 50 blocks, so it's not that bad. But with each update the despawn/render distance got smaller until it was under 50 blocks. I ended up getting a physical copy and depatching it
Damn I didn't realise Vita had the same issue 🤣 I think it was hardware limitations at the time, specially on the vita I'd imagine. I don't blame you for grabbing a physical copy, I didn't think about removing patches from the ps3 one - might've been a good idea 😅

Minecraft PS3 video in 2024? This is the type of content I'm all for! Edit: you're a much better man than me, that's for sure. I remember that the PS3 version had an autosave feature that you could abuse the hell out of if you wanted to. Basically just set the game to autosave every 15 minutes, and then if something catastrophic happens, at worst you lose 15 minutes if quit the world without saving. There were so many instances in your video where I would have done that, but you're just too real for that trick I suppose
Isn't placing a water/lava source block via a bucket, uhm, placing a block? Not that it matters, since you could use the ocean and redirect water anyway. Also, torches and crops are also considered blocks by the game. Although, it is not really necessary. Edit: Since people keep crawling on my back about it. The author has since clarified what they defined as a block, which is not the same thing as what the game considers to be a block.
@LuigiFan04 ya read the source code, did ya? How did you miss this then "public class BlockStaticLiquid extends BlockLiquid" and "public abstract class BlockLiquid extends Block" with water being defined as an instance of this in the blocks initializer... feels a bit awkward now, doesn't it? I consider the games source code the ultimate arbiter about whether something is or isn't a block in said game.
that's like arguing that lightning is as good as sunlight, since both the lightning & the sun are forms of plasma within our universe. but like. no one who has been outside and experienced either would say they're remotely the same, functionally
@bupcorn4136 how in the word is that like that? A more apt comparison would be to claim that both the sun and lightning are light sources. Cause they both share common properties of emitting light. Keep in mind that we are talking about properties, not evaluating how good or bad they are at something or comparatively. Water in minecraft IS a block, by definition. It's a subclass of Block. That makes it nominally a block. They both share the property of "block".
God the memories this video brought back up gave me the best nostalgia ever. I played Minecraft on the ps3 when it first came out as a kid and those were the best years of my life. Oh, and anyone who can agree that ps3 edition is the best version then like this comment.
I'm not a minecraft fan at all really, but this was a very fun watch! I don't normally watch any streams or vids of the game either but watched yours all the way through lol Seemed like tough going a couple times there and I know the feeling of needing to step away from a platinum playthrough for a while. Looking forward to your next vid
This means a lot, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this one 💜 It was super tough but we got there in the end! I'd love to do something like this again - maybe even Minecraft PS4 👀
Back in these days i used to play this game like a little baby. I turned off auto-save and made manual saves before going into any sketchy situation, and if i died i just reloaded the save and tried again.
Btw, I dont know if it's the same in bedrock/console, but in java edition you get the brewing advancement simply by taking something out of a brewing stand, even an empty bottle works. So im pretty sure you couldve just taken one of the potions already in the brewing stand - I think thats what happened
Depends what you view as a "block" To me, torches and seeds are more of a placeable item within the world as they take up less space than a genuine block would 🫡
Was worried people would comment about placing seeds counting as placing despite it not exactly being a block, or creating farmland/path blocks with a hoe/shovel, or better yet the water and lava placing since they are referred to as blocks in the game/community, but glad to see nobody seems to be that picky and understands the already impossible restrictions placed upon the challenge!
With the world being so small and the nether by definition being 8 times smaller rhan that and guaranteed having (at least) 1 fortress, spawning near a fortress is not at all surprising.
I also decided to get Platinum at this game since my brother stopped from playing the PS3 a long time ago and due to not having access to his PSN account anymore. So, having those obstacles, I decided to give this game a go and hoped for the best. In just a short span of time, I wiped out the mayority of the achievements, even 100% completing three of the ten DLCs achievements the game had, so I was doing it right, but my streak came to a halt. During The End, I had in mind to collect three trophies in a row, that being entering the portal, killing the Ender Dragon and catching the Dragon's breath in a bottle, but those trophies wouldn't popped at all and I was stressed out, so I tossed it aside and move to the Sniper Duel trophy, doing it over and over again, but the results were none and I can guess what was the source of the problem: It seems that one of my testings in creative mode within my survival save load may had bugged the game, thus resulting in not giving me the achievements. That sucks because that could also mean that the Wither trophies cannot be obtained on my save load due to that problem and, due to my limitations, I can't think on other strategies. Still though, cool video. Nice to see someone getting all achievements.
You would’ve been fine placing rails, as since you didn’t place chests (an entity), clearly your definition of block means it takes up solid space, not being a block in the code. The rail doesn’t take up solid space. Technically rails are blocks in the code of the game, but based on your definition of block for the whole play through, you’d be fine. Can’t lie tho, needing to use the power of friendship to finish the challenge was kinda fire, especially since a friend couldn’t help with challenges like building a portal, since that’d have to be YOU. Beds, brewing stands, enchantment tables, and furnaces are also entities, lol. However, it’s good you didn’t take advantage of that since it made the video better. Wonderful video btw. The storytelling was nice, I appreciate the 2160p option for quality, and I was willing to sleep late just to finish it.
Great Video! Reminds me of when I first explored the game, while its great to know a lot of things about the game, sometimes I wish I could go back and reexperience Minecraft for the first time... This makes me want to go back and open my old worlds on console
Awesome video, ive watched it like 5 times since you dropped it. Really enjoy this style of content from you, hope you do some more of these kinds of challenges in the future

Wow, I wanted to watch this because I was genuinely curious about whether this was possible or not and sure enough it was. I may be 2 months late but congratulations on beating Minecraft for the first time!! This video was great and I loved watching it, have a sub and like, you deserve it.

this was SO entertaining. I love your vids and minecraft vids in general. It would be cool to see you now move on to bedrock and instead of a no block challenge just get ALL the trophies in the entire game including DLC.
Hm. Was this challenge worse than the GameMill games? Edit 1: I can't imagine ever doing this, I don't even like Normal Minecraft. Edit 2: I'll continue to watch no matter what you post :) (unless it's I plan on playing, then you're on your own.) But great content. Ps: I count the last trophy as legit.
Gamemill is still the worst 🤣 Thank you by the way! I really appreciate you sticking around for all sorts of content - I will keep posting bad games though don't worry 😅
> Ps: I count the last trophy as legit. Really? So by that logic, that also means if he were to spawn a friend to have him build a crafting table, furnace, Nether portal, etc and earn those trophies, you would also consider those legit too?
@@RealComplainsAlot And so would the crafting table, furnace, and various other achievements if it wasn't possible for both a crafting table and furnace to spawn together in the same world. I'm not seeing your point. Why would this one exception be considered "legit" but not in any other scenario? By your logic, it should also be considered "legit." I don't see it as legit because he used his friend to create a loophole in the rules of the challenge, killing its legitimacy.
Who is gonna tell him that taking a potion out of a brewing stand counts, so you could have just taken those instant health potions and you'd be done with it Edit: He kinda found out. Oh I was screaming
Someone may need to check me on this, but if I remember right On a Rail doesn't have to be 500 blocks in a straight line, just 500 blocks of travel time without getting out of the Minecraft. If you had a perfect circle of 8 tracks and a powered rail to keep you going you can get the achievement in a small space while basically afk. That then raises the problem of finding a seed with a circle of track like that already in a mineshaft, and even then it would lack the powered rail and power source. Still that'd be a theoretical 2 blocks placed compared to your friend placing 1000-ish for you, so it's something! Hell if torches don't count as blocks for this challenge then I'd argue rails and levers don't either. Again though, I can't remember what versions of the game the small circle works for getting On a Rail and which it doesn't... if memory serves it used to be 1,000 blocks in a straight line then changed to 500 in any direction but I'm still not positive that's the case.

26:17 You could just build a Nether Portal in a different location and spawn in a completely different area of the Nether
great video man i know the feel of beating the game for the first time so this was a REAL throwback
Thank you :) There will be a lot more challenge vids coming soon!!
The absolute madlad, also I love old Minecraft it’s so nostalgic and gave me so many great memories. I’ll never forget it.
Me too! Going back and playing this version just hit me with so many memories
It's almost like stepping into the past and experiencing everything for the first time again
@@Satiire absolutely, I really love your videos I think it’s your chill demeanor and how you seem so down to earth. I have so much respect for someone playing the worst games to completion for the sake of entertainment.
Btw the reason why the desert is better is not just cuz nothings in your view but also bcuz of less caves under the ground so more surface spawns
Ahhhh thank you! That's probably the best explanation 🫡
i'm confused why you didn't want to place a brewing stand but you were fine placing torches
really fun to watch, I don't usually comment on videos but this video was really well executed. Earned a sub!!
Placing water and lava blocks should still count as placing blocks imo, if a bed counts so should water/lava
If I remember correctly, When I found my first minecraft diamond as a kid, I only found one, but I was still so excited to have found a diamond on my own.
Nice! Now you just need to hire an astrophysicist to verify your spawn rates. 🤣
Yes picking up the potions that were in the brewing stand gave you the trophy
Wow, I wanted to watch this because I was genuinely curious about whether this was possible or not and sure enough it was. I may be 2 months late but congratulations on beating Minecraft for the first time!! This video was great and I loved watching it, have a sub and like, you deserve it.
its been a very long time since i've seen or experienced struggle in old minecraft. its all pretty nostalgic lol
Old Minecraft is the best Minecraft!
2:20 never knew skeletons were chill like that
38:47 are you lonely
50:48 why is your ding dong hanging down?
Oh and all of the insults are just joking around trust me I liked this video
this was SO entertaining. I love your vids and minecraft vids in general. It would be cool to see you now move on to bedrock and instead of a no block challenge just get ALL the trophies in the entire game including DLC.
I'd love to return to MC at some point so next up would probably be the PS4/PS5 versions and going for 100% in them!
I miss my ps3, playing rayman original and mincraft
Glad to see you weren’t too chicken to back away from the challenge
You're awesome, man! I love to watch your videos and your narration is always on point! I'm excited to see what you'll come up with next ❤
Huh, lmao nice video idea :D

Blood is flowing out of my crying eyes.
This was a great video I remember going back to ps3 and getting the plat in 2020🔥
Man, you killed the run with that water bucket

the Piss3™ controller
Gamemill is still the worst 🤣
Thank you by the way! I really appreciate you sticking around for all sorts of content - I will keep posting bad games though don't worry 😅
@@Satiire "I'll keep posting bad games don't worry"
Pheew all my anxiety is put at ease after reading that. 😂😂
> Ps: I count the last trophy as legit.
Really? So by that logic, that also means if he were to spawn a friend to have him build a crafting table, furnace, Nether portal, etc and earn those trophies, you would also consider those legit too?
@@Supersonic6427 No, he had no choice, this trophy would have been impossible to do by himself.
@@RealComplainsAlot And so would the crafting table, furnace, and various other achievements if it wasn't possible for both a crafting table and furnace to spawn together in the same world. I'm not seeing your point. Why would this one exception be considered "legit" but not in any other scenario? By your logic, it should also be considered "legit."
I don't see it as legit because he used his friend to create a loophole in the rules of the challenge, killing its legitimacy.
Finally, someone who can challenge my pitiful luck in Minecraft. Our battle will be legendary!
This is incredible bro. Fantastic video!
Thank you Mr Sandrez 💜 Looking forward to your next vid!!
SUPER underrated video
Thank you! 🫡
Quite literally started my yearly Minecraft kick, perfect timing
Gotta love that yearly Minecraft binge 😎
Always happy to see a new upload from you
Thank you! More on the way 😎
love how bro casually found a woodland mansion 💀
This is the best video I’ve seen in a long time.
That means a lot! Thank you 🫡
@@Satiire I wrote this comment on the shitter.
Who is gonna tell him that taking a potion out of a brewing stand counts, so you could have just taken those instant health potions and you'd be done with it
Edit: He kinda found out.
Oh I was screaming
I honestly will never understand why people make comments prior to finishing the video.
Again though, I can't remember what versions of the game the small circle works for getting On a Rail and which it doesn't... if memory serves it used to be 1,000 blocks in a straight line then changed to 500 in any direction but I'm still not positive that's the case.
there seems to be no solid rule for what a block is here but at least its funny 😂 congrats on getting plat man
The Wolfenstien games are good for Platinums.
THIS is the minecraft content i wanna see
Lowkey you placed hella blocks this vid(water, lava, beds, etc)
bro speakin facts
Bros spreading rumours 😭
@@Satiire he's right about the water...
…Torches, flint and steel, crops
water, lava, and seeds aren’t blocks 😭
Love the nostalgia of playing Minecraft poorly on the console edition❤️❤️ the water is infinite on the version if it has a block above the surface
This is absolutely amazing keep up the great work can’t wait to see more 🔥! 😊
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed 😁
When and how did you get sweet dreams? Did you use the tutorial world?
Liked, purely for the fact I love your accent
Actually pretty sure you couldve gotten the jukebox one in the minigame lobby
Man two generations removed and I’m a spoiled little bitch with my FOV slider
27:12 those glowstone chunks are the exact same lol
