It definitely wasn't intended as you can see where he put his finger was making sure the 5 could go where he had to hit 9 to clear the six so no big brainy shot here but he's a pro and knew tho 9 could go in the top right corner so I do think he was playing that two way but not what you suggested

He needed to follow the cue ball to put draw stun on the 5 to help the 5 into the side and hit the 9 fuller to get more of a 90* angle off the 9.
He used all right hand English and hit the 9 thinner allowing the 5 to follow some just enough to hit the tittie but got lucky. It happens that’s 9 ball.

That's the only way Efren was able to win anything, luck as he says and not actual skill. Thats why he only has 1 US Open while Earl and SVB have 5 a piece... Luck can only take you so far.

Efren was kicking in balls off of two rails routinely, he could make contact and sometimes even get safe from 3 and 4 rail kicks. He wasn't known for having a good break compared to other pros and yet I'm sure he's broke and ran a few thousand more racks than you.
