As I listen to this I am grateful to The Lord for living in this age of having every theologian, and their words available to me. Also I am grateful for living on in the age of electrical fans…. I’m sure many others will praise The Lord for electrical fans. Unfortunate, I do not believe many people truly are appreciative of the age we live in when it comes to biblical knowledge and understanding….
I have been a Christian for close to 39 yrs, I try to test my answers to the questions, then see how close I get...we need to know and understand what we believe...thank God for these great men of God!!
This panel of men are doing a great work For the Church. I love them all and am so very blessed to have them to learn from. You are so very missed RC. I can not wait to meet you one day. May God bless all y’all on this panel.
So glad that the Lord has given us, such men to encourage us to study and know our God even more. "All scripture is breathed out by God profitable for teaching, for reproof, and correction and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16_-17
Before I was reformed, I always had trouble harmonizing God's perfect foreknowledge, and the existence of "free will". I even asked my grandpa (my main spiritual mentor growing up), "If God knows what I'm going to do tomorrow, then that's what I'm going to do, right?" I wish I remembered the answer he gave me, but I was young. Now I'm reformed, and so many objections to calvinism are that it's determinist, that it violates "man's free will", etc. And it just makes me think... if you think God has perfect foreknowledge of the future, you have the same problem, you just kicked the can backwards 1 step. He knows every decision you will ever make, He knows everyone who will be saved and everyone who won't be. That is set, the instant that He knows it. You can say he came to that knowledge in a different means than calvinists do, but at the end of the day, you are going to do what God's knows you will do, whether you're an arminian or a calvinist. The only way around that is open theism, which all my arminian friends and family would rightly deny. And I'm not saying this as someone who was raised reformed, and hasn't been exposed to the arminian view. I was born, raised, and still go to the same AoG church I've attended since literally I was in the nursery. But the "In God's sovereignty He gave us free will" (the most common view held by the arminians around me) perspective doesn't change the fact that our "free will" choices are set in stone either way, due to God's perfect foreknowledge.
So glad that so many are interested in what our reformed brothers have to say. The next step is for so many to return to the regular reading of the Scriptures.
I have so many questions, this is wonderful. I have been coming back to the Lord recently and have been learning just how far away I have been. Much gets twisted over time. I'm so grateful for His grace and mercy. Bless God for Jesus our King.
This is a true panel of Gospel Gangstaz! They have forgotten more about theology than i may ever know, but we are truly blessed that the Lord saw fit that they be alive and soldiering for His truth during this time in our lives. Thank you Lord!
R.C. Sproul , In season or out He alway's had a great attitude and a thinking man's perspective..I like His final answer in forgiveness, And the promise of forgiveness..Godspeed 🙂
Free will is the gift to resist sin and the power to wait on the Lord to fulfill our desire and that is to see him Face to face as we're clothed in righteousness from above raised and wrapped in his LOVE being his bride . God bless you all in Christ I pray. 👍
Amen, brother, free will does exist within us to fight temptation by embracing God. How do we know this? Because God commands us to fight the devil, but flee sin. “Submit yourselves there to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” -James 4:7
This is one of my biggest issues: trust. I was blessed with a high IQ, and before my conversion thought I understood the world, to a degree. Since then I realize I know very little. I have to catch myself when I try to rely on my own cognizance to solve a problem, instead of trusting The Lord and sticking to His commandments. My own pride is my worst enemy. I’ll get there eventually, sanctification is a life long process.
Thank you so much, Dr. Sproul, for the discussion about seeing loved ones in hell. And as if that weren't enough, God says in His Word that He'll wipe away all tears!
God has the knowledge of all the things that we are going to do but He doesn’t predetermine what we are going to do , we have the free choice of our actions .
God created us knowing that we were going to fail Him yet, He also knew that many would accept His salvation plan so for them He put it in effect, for His glory and our adoption in His kingdom. He loved us before the foundation of the world.
It would seem to be a sin if God's glory was not revealed. In our case glory is foreign in His case it is absolute. Any glory we experience is that which is shared with us, into our lives by Him.
About the teaching of hell : I do not believe in a place where the lost will be burning for ever, I believe that the lost will die by fire, that they will turn to ashes, that they will be consumed, will be stubble and burned to ashes, and will be blotted out and I believe this because the Bible tells me so. Here are the verses: Malachi 4:1-3; Isaiah 1:28;Ecclesiastes 3:20;Job 10:9; Job 22:20; Job 30:19; Job 34:14,15 ;Job33: 28,29;Psalm 1:6; Psalm9:5 .All these passages day that the lost will be destroyed, blotted out, consumed and dead.
If evil men inNoah's day were retrieved by God 1pet 3:19.4:6 let's grow in grace and knowledge says Peters last word. Universalism is biblical. But why stay in hell 1000 yrs or 1hour if there's a direct way CHRIST
God said its not good to be alone so He eternally has with him his only begotten son God also in fulness sharing all with son including that infinite eternal power called Holy Spirit that makes all things possible symbolized by throne shared by father and son. Trinity is not persons but 3 Grandest subjects we are to be emmerssed soaked or BAPTISED into
I love the humanity of these men: none seem to desire to lift themselves up; they are so down-to-earth, unlike some religious leaders. Mr. Godfrey, for example, with his "heebie-jeegies" -- that he would use the term! What he said sent me on an Internet search, because I had always had a feeling that this was an unacceptable term . I ended up writing this to my free online dictionary. : "What caused me to look up "heebie-jeebies" was the thought that the word could have come from "Holy Ghost" and the revival of the Quaker practice of shaking and chattering nonsense sounds as a religious practice. (Such verbalization is called "qav laqav" and "tzav latzav" in the Hebrew Bible.) Now that I see the time of the creation and use of the word (around 1923), I am even more convinced that these practices influenced the creation of the word, although I have seen no one yet mentioning such a thing. "The guarded nature of saying it as it is pronounced seems to indicate a hesitancy to say anything that would be offensive, while still going ahead and saying it, much like such euphemisms as "golly" (for god), "gosh" (also for god), "gee" (for Jesus), etc." It would be interesting to see what others think.
John MacArthur these question and answer were brought up and he said just refrain from using such words that sound like using the lord's name flippantly or misusing His name. Like oh my _____. Those aren't really words, exclamations. The q&A was in his church.
Sitting here and listenning to each question and answers , I wonderwhat God is thinking as each question is answered by what he has been versed in. I know this was tape many months ago but I also know it has been a long time since the Greek in acts sat around trying to understand God and his omnipotent, omnisicent and omnipresent.
Serious question. How, and where was anyone redeemed by "the blood of the Lamb" under the old covenant as explained by the gentleman in the first minute of this video?? Perhaps I dont understand covenant theology, but from my own Bible study I don't see this.
Corey - Covenant theology aside, the Bible teaches that no one comes to the Father apart from Jesus John 14:6. Starting in Gen.3 and all through the OT God had promised redemption. OT saints were justified by faith alone - Rom. 4. They knew God would send a suffering servant to redeem them - Is. 53. Also read Heb. 11
@@larryhelmuth691 I'm not disagreeing with any of that. What I am saying is how was anyone redeemed by the blood of the Lamb under the old covenant? Hebrews 10:1 specifically states "For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect." That being the case, I am simply questioning the gentleman's statement. He says that people were redeemed. Several scriptures indicate differently. That's all i am saying. And just so you know, I don't put much stock into covenant theology anyhow. But I do like trying to understand where and how those who espouse it come to their conclusions.
@@coreyc3093 Ha! I am a little slow at times, but I believe that I now understand your question. Duncan did not structure his sentence properly, hence the confusion. He said, "...those who have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb under the Old Covenant....", when I understand him as meaning: Those who were under the Old Covenant, and have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb are a part of the Invisible Church.
As always very good an informative. But....I am appalled at the moderators attitude towards John MacArthur. He did all he could to ignore him. I hope someone said something to him!!!
End of the first century. (AD90-100-ish). John was probably the youngest of Jesus disciples and was entrusted by Jesus to care for His mother (even though Jesus had half brothers who weren’t believers at the time but became believers afterwards...James and Jude, both through the Holy Spirit wrote books in the Bible).
My question is this. When God brought the flood about & killed everyone on earth because of their sin, & God knows everything, & he knew that sin would prevail again, just as bad, or worse, then what was the purpose? I mean, why waste his time & noahs time from building the ark when all that sin was going to come right back; and worse. Noah even sinned sometime after they all left the ark. I mean, it didn't really kill sin. So what was the purpose??? I've always wondered about this. Any answers? Thankyou
In Tucker Carlson's interview with Russian Premier Vladimir Putin, Putin described both the visible and invisible church in a manner, not indicative of a socialist dictator, but of a seasoned theologian.
Where in the bible does it say? If a woman desires to be a deaconess she desires good job, I don't see where it says it, yet alot of baptist churchs allow it to be so
Generally it is how deacon requirements include wife conduct also in 1 Tim. 3 and Titus 1, while also understanding that Lydia and others are mentioned as deaconesses. This does not mean any of this applies to eldership, hence how baptists and more reformed circles generally come upon this conclusion
COULD YALL SEE OSTEEN OR COPELAND OR DOLLAR IN THIS MIX ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS? NAW ME NEITHER THEY WOULD BE COWERING AND QUAKEING IN THEIR SEATS UNDER THIS MUCH GODLYNESS...
There areEven Jesus in John 15:6 says: ..they will be gathered and thrown into the fire,And they are burned. In Revelation 21:8 it says that the lost are burned with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. Death is the end for the lost, to ashes they will return and to no eternity of hell! God Is love even to the end of the sinners life.!
I love listening to these learned men. It did confuse me to see that Dr MacArthur seemed to be ignored at first by the "moderator". Even the others a appeared to be uncomfortable. I am sorry that happened.
Maybe because when I listen to his sermons from 6 yrs ago, which was ground in Biblical truth from one 4 months ago where he quoted more from Orwell and Huxley....compared the chattel slavery of the past (with its brutality; selling off of children and death and NO chance of freedom) to the so called 'political slavery' and totalitarianism refering to current pandemic responses has fallen into the false religion if equating politics with religion. The disciples too looked to Jesus to overthrow the totalitarian Roman government but He made it clear His Kingdom was not of THIS world, even instructing to obey their laws (as HE HIMSELF raises up and pulls down governments). If we are truly 'slaves' to God, like Paul we learn to live the life of love, long-suffering and dependence on God alone as we seek to follow His commands to love Him with all our heart, mind and soul...and our neighbor as ourselves. He also calls us to make disciples of all nations. Imagine going into some truly totalitarian countries and encouraging newly converted Christians to go against their governments. So disappointing to hear him being so nationalistic/political rather than staying scriptual, but even MacArther is but a man.
These poor guys. It is humbling to see these great thinkers struggle so much with these ideas. It would be nice if they could stop following the law and live it. It's hard. You have to give up the world. And follow Him. It's so difficult. God bless everyone here. May God bless you with losing everything so that you may always and constantly seek Him. In Yeshuas name. Amen.
There is a difference between the gift and giving of the gift. The bible is the Truth. Wjen we don't help a brother or sister. When we see a child being abused. When we see our brothers and sisters suffering from prostitution and drug addiction and don't help. How many churches have soup kitchens and beds for people to sleep? No. They are too dirty. The only time these churches are open is on Sunday or when they are trying to make money. It's all about money. Tithing is not 10 or 11%. It is 100% for God. We asked to give 10 % or more accurately 1/10. We try and limit Him. That is why they are lawkeepers. They keep the law and seel it for money. The Word is not for sale. He comes freely. Spread the Word brother. These preachers in their suits and fancy words will repent. One way or the other. They are wise but don't see the point. They are blind. We are all blind. God is so much more than even what's in that bible. And the bible is amazing. Let's stop limiting Him just to the bible.
@@twirlykaa2222 They support one of the most successful and largest missions in the world, the midnight mission in LA. And much else. They visit the poor and widows and orphans and help and serve. Which the bible decrees. How did you conclude they dont do that stuff?
Wow! RC Sproul starts off by saying a legitimate question was stupid. I like Sproul but sometimes he is just so out of touch with people. The answer he and MacArthur give is not the greatest also.
sounds harsh, but I get where he is coming from. "isn't God selfish for wanting to glorify Himself?" sounds like a question that downplays God's majesty.
I don't think that stands as a legitimate question considering if you proceed by asking the questioner "why do you think selfish is bad" they often resolve the confusion in their feelings alone. Most people that ask this question come from two points, they are either someone who's taught that selfish is bad in a self-explanatory way and they try to figure out why God seems to have such an attribute. Or they are simply trying to downplay the Christian God, in which situation they don't even pose the question fairly, as in they don't do it while expecting an answer. In either case, they don't stand on a solid moral or logical ground.
I guess your perception of him doesn't reflect his humor or/and intentions. However, what I understood was that there's no stupid question, but fearing to ask a question is stupid; and he believes that specific question was not well thought. All good. God bless
As much as I respect R. C. Sproul, his comment about the Eastern Orthodox Church not having had a Council of Trent is dead wrong. The Eastern Orthodox Version would have been the "Synod of Jerusalem (also referred to as the Synod of Bethlehem) of 1672. Where the Eastern Orthodox Church condemned the Calvinist Doctrine of Salvation By Grace alone and upheld the Doctrine of Salvation by faith and works as well as unconditional Predestination. It was a refutation of the "Confession of Cyril Lucaris, a Patriarch of Constantinople a generation earlier, who had advocated Calvinist Doctrines. In addition, John MaCarthur's description of what is happening when Priests and Altar boys enter, exit and reenter through little doors in back screens is a vulgar representation and distortion of the deep theology and symbolism behind those actions. These great men would do well to understand and explain what they're arguing against, so that others can understand properly and not leave themselves open to criticism. Especially with criticism that would be properly leveled against them, as in this case.

On open theism. Does not the scripture say, that God knows the end from beginning, and 1 day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. GOD. In Eternity past . All of History and future life on Earth is Already finished, done with, complete, over with. We live in time, here and now. But in Eternity its finished. Complete history is complete. Now is the Time, the time OUR Sovereign God has given us to repent. ATMITTE YOU are a sinner. Turn to the SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
Is it not true that wicked will be ashes under our feet. Malachi 4:3 “And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.” And if it’s true that those who are perishing will eventually perish. And that the wages of sin is death. Therefore should we not conclude that eventually those is hell will perish into ashes and be dead forever more. I think you’d find it interesting to get Ellen G Whites take on the subject. And she was a reliable prophet of God. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom. 6:23 But I saw that God would not shut them up in hell to endure endless misery, neither will He take them to heaven; for to bring them into the company of the pure and holy would make them exceedingly miserable.

I feel absolutely blessed and loved by God in every way.
I have so many questions, this is wonderful. I have been coming back to the Lord recently and have been learning just how far away I have been. Much gets twisted over time. I'm so grateful for His grace and mercy. Bless God for Jesus our King.
These.Q&A are or can be more effective then the individual message keep them coming
This is a true panel of Gospel Gangstaz! They have forgotten more about theology than i may ever know, but we are truly blessed that the Lord saw fit that they be alive and soldiering for His truth during this time in our lives. Thank you Lord!
These type of discussions from such learned men do provide an understanding of the principles of the Bible. They reenforce my beliefs.
Thank you God for being perfect in all ways.Who am I to question you!
Man is not perfect …but God is perfect .. as he is with out sin…SINLESS🙏
These men are so smart and wise 😊
God in His supreme holiness and uniquiness should be consumed with His own Glory
It is His office to be consumed with His own Glory
😆, riiiiight.
Awesome discussion! I miss these! Thank you 💗
RC was so wonderful and cool.
My husband who just recently passed away loved R C Sproul.
God created us knowing that we were going to fail Him yet, He also knew that many would accept His salvation plan so for them He put it in effect, for His glory and our adoption in His kingdom. He loved us before the foundation of the world.
Amazing wisdom!
But, when we glory in ourselves and not give Him the Glory that is due to our Great and awesome God, we are guilty of treasonous sin.
Amen! These Q&A’s are so insightful.
God knows all but gave men to act as they will but God corrects thoughts word actions to fulfill his purpose.
Thank you regarding the Mormons! Very true!!

"The guarded nature of saying it as it is pronounced seems to indicate a hesitancy to say anything that would be offensive, while still going ahead and saying it, much like such euphemisms as "golly" (for god), "gosh" (also for god), "gee" (for Jesus), etc."
It would be interesting to see what others think.
John MacArthur these question and answer were brought up and he said just refrain from using such words that sound like using the lord's name flippantly or misusing His name. Like oh my _____. Those aren't really words, exclamations. The q&A was in his church.
None of us think the SAME! Therefore, we believe differingly in interpretation; not in basic belief for Salvation

I have a question, God knows everything, so since He knows everything, why does he let people he knows will have a really bad life be born?

Serious question. How, and where was anyone redeemed by "the blood of the Lamb" under the old covenant as explained by the gentleman in the first minute of this video?? Perhaps I dont understand covenant theology, but from my own Bible study I don't see this.
Corey -
Covenant theology aside, the Bible teaches that no one comes to the Father apart from Jesus John 14:6.
Starting in Gen.3 and all through the OT God had promised redemption. OT saints were justified by faith alone - Rom. 4. They knew God would send a suffering servant to redeem them - Is. 53.
Also read Heb. 11
It might be with reference to 1 Peter 3:18-20. Not sure though.
@@coreyc3093
Ha!
Still jesus by doing some evidence but not the evidence save you. The faith in saved you. The Bible call the shadow of christ
Quite simply. We have freedom of will except to choose Christ, we cannot choose Christ without God’s grace.
Sproul sounded so much like Gerstner at the end there.
The open theist would have God saying “ Well, I’ll just say ‘Let there be light’, and see what happens.”
What a wise man is John McArthur ?
As always very good an informative. But....I am appalled at the moderators attitude towards John MacArthur. He did all he could to ignore him. I hope someone said something to him!!!
When and who wrote book of john?
John, one of the 12 disciples wrote the book of John (not John the Baptist) Don’t know the date it was written though.
Thankyou
The flood didn't take sin out of the world but Christ takes sin and punishes it and finishes sin at the cross
For His glory

Where in the bible does it say? If a woman desires to be a deaconess she desires good job, I don't see where it says it, yet alot of baptist churchs allow it to be so
Generally it is how deacon requirements include wife conduct also in 1 Tim. 3 and Titus 1, while also understanding that Lydia and others are mentioned as deaconesses. This does not mean any of this applies to eldership, hence how baptists and more reformed circles generally come upon this conclusion

The moderator sat next to John. He had to actively and deliberately make those farthest from him more involved. See how he started with RC then Ferg.

Amen.
why do you think they are following the law and not living it? what is live it to you?

So you believe that salvation is by faith AND works?
Kan Enas on the contrary...these men know EXACTLY what they are arguing against.
These man only believe in them selves. Its a cult.

Theology is the problem you just want to hear Man's interpretation of who God is, but you refuse to go to God's designated Man to know who the Father is and to have Life?
Theology is never going to make you understand God the Father in any way shape or form until you delete theology from your mind and turn and listen to the Words of Christ and the Apostle's teachings Only!
Theology = Study of God, study of God's nature. Go ahead, and erase the theology. Let us know how it went with your knowledge of God...

After they had commented on Scripture verses that defended their position that was incorrect I showed them that they were taking it out of context or making a word into a person they came to realized that their Trinity is not the very Words of God the Father that he gave to his Son to speak on his behalf!
After this the person usually does the following they will not continue in the conversation anymore, or they use the weapons of the World to damage property or they simply don't reply back after I exhausted them with the Truth!

Is it not true that wicked will be ashes under our feet.
Malachi 4:3
“And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.”
And if it’s true that those who are perishing will eventually perish.
(Rom. 6:23
But I saw that God would not shut them up in hell to endure endless misery, neither will He take them to heaven; for to bring them into the company of the pure and holy would make them exceedingly miserable. But He will destroy them utterly and cause them to be as if they had not been; then His justice will be satisfied. He formed man out of the dust of the earth, and the disobedient and unholy will be consumed by fire and return to dust again.-Early Writings Ellen White P. 221.
