same here -- found RC last 2020 in the Bible Gateway app -- was led to MacArthur, then to these Reformed guys -- didn't know RC is with the Lord at that time, and yet, God is still using his talks to renew minds and transform hearts -- generation changes, technology, and culture, BUT the Word of God still potent as it was before, still powerful, able to cut through a dead spirit and bring it to life

I’ve encountered this very thing in my short time in ministry. When I came to the text, I preached the underlying theology to it (which was effectual calling/election). A congregant caught it. We met after church the following Sunday. Talked through it in love and walked away as closer brothers.
I let the Scripture speak, as my pastor advised me, from the pulpit and for the conversation.
To any of my brothers out there, just be humble and faithful to the text and believe the Lord will call and feed His sheep. He is faithful.

Looks Up John Calvin’s Reign of Terror
In 5 years as magistrate of the Geneva “church-city-state,” Calvin oversaw 58 death sentences and the exile of 76 people. He wasn't the sole decision-maker in those cases, but personal correspondence and city council records betray his extraordinary influence. When Jacques Gruet, a theologian with differing views, placed a letter in Calvin’s pulpit calling him a hypocrite, he was arrested, tortured for a month and beheaded on July 26, 1547. Gruet's own theological book was later found and burned along with his house while his wife was thrown out into the street to watch

Spurgeon had much to say about all the things a pastor must have in order to preach...voice and manner and content is very high on the list. Of preachers, R. C. and Jim Boice, Eric Alexander and Martyn Lloyd-Jones are men I can listen to for long time...and they are gifted!
I must add Albert N Martin, retired now I am quite sure...but he was the 1st solid Reformed (Baptist) preacher/teacher I discovered, on cassette tapes at the beginning. I had been saturating myself in the Bible and in short, his ministry he had taught me very much, led me to some of the men on this video...and the Puritans, etc. We became good friends and oh, that I had been able to be in his local assembly every week, but I was very blessed by that gifted man of God.

It is amazing how we accumulate the knowledge of God ,but donot question certain incidents that seems strange in certain scriptures of the bible. How can a Spirit kick another spirit from a place that have the existence of nothing.. Those of us who enters into this book that holds all eternal mystery, are not allowing God to unveil himself in the mysteriously hidden truths. There is only one God and there is no other. We as believers need to allow God to unfold and uncover himself from the mystery of truth. Truths that cannot be unveiled by man only by God.

Would a parent have peace or dies the patent continue to pray for their adult kids in hopes that they turn to repentance and receive salvation? How does a parent not allow concern for their adult kids to become overwheleming?

It's not possible for us to know the true heart of anyone else. False professions abound. On the other hand, God reveals himself to us at the time of His choosing. We all come to faith at the time appointed by Him. So don't agonize over it. Pray about it and trust in His ultimate sovereignty. Whatever comes to pass is ultimately His will.

My high-level response to this q is that Jesus was speaking of two important divine responsibilities which are to establish a life-creating (planning the concept of the doctrine of salvation) and sustaining(teaching) systems. The Pharisees did this mistake,
The warning is that do not allow people to affirm your self made stuff in which ultimately, will make you to action or resume the divine responsibilities.

Grace is more than unmerited favor, it is divine empowerment. These men do not teach Grace, if such a thing is actually possible, but rather the Doctrine of Grace. In the words of Christ, in the Gospel story, in the messages of Paul is truth which operates as a seed (Mark 4) and is therefore empowered and empowering. "It will not return empty handed but will accomplish its task" (the regeneration of the human heart and the renewing of the human mind). This is what the word of God really is--"living and active." It is not even biblical to say that the Bible is the "word of God." How's that for a paradox. But no, Christ himself is the word made flesh. We are epistles of flesh, living letters. Christ lives in us "unless we be rebrobates." Above we have men who have stationed themselves at the gate, like angels with a flaming sword. They do not allow us to enter, "but neither do they enter themselves." (Scripture references omitted, as I speak not to the neophyte). Listen, those who have ears.

@34:00 Clement of Rome did not teach the doctrine of Justification by Faith Alone (Sola Fide), not a single one of Early Church Fathers did. This is why Luther in Table Talk said, "Behold what great darkness is in the books of the Fathers concerning faith; yet if the article of justification be darkened, it is impossible to smother the grossest errors of mankind."
Clement of Rome in context reads...
CHAP. XXX.--LET US DO THOSE THINGS THAT PLEASE GOD, AND FLEE FROM THOSE HE HATES, THAT WE MAY BE BLESSED.
Seeing, therefore, that we are the portion of the Holy One, let us do all those things which pertain to holiness, avoiding all evil-speaking, all abominable and impure embraces, together with all drunkenness, seeking after change,(3) all abominable lusts, detestable adultery, and execrable pride. "For God," saith [the Scripture], "resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble."(4) Let us cleave, then, to those to whom grace has been given by God. LET US CLOTHE OURSELVES WITH CONCORD AND HUMILITY, EVER EXERCISING SELF-CONTROL, STANDING FAR OFF FROM ALL WHISPERING AND EVIL-SPEAKING, BEING JUSTIFIED BY OUR WORKS, AND NOT OUR WORDS. For [the Scripture] saith, "He that speaketh much, shall also hear much in answer. And does he that is ready in speech deem himself righteous? Blessed is he that is born of woman, who liveth but a short time: be not given to much speaking."(5) Let our praise be in God, and not of ourselves; for God hateth those that commend themselves. Let testimony to our good deeds be borne by others, as it was in the case of our righteous forefathers. Boldness, and arrogance, and audacity belong to those that are accursed of God; but moderation, humility, and meekness to such as are blessed by Him.
CHAP. XXXI.--LET US SEE BY WHAT MEANS WE MAY OBTAIN THE DIVINE BLESSING.
Let us cleave then to His blessing, and consider what are the means(6) of possessing it. Let us think(7) over the things which have taken place from the beginning. For what reason was our father Abraham blessed? was it not BECAUSE HE WROUGHT RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUTH THROUGH FAITH?(8) Isaac, with perfect confidence, as if knowing what was to happen,(9) cheerfully yielded himself as a sacrifice.(10) Jacob, through reason(11) of his brother, went forth with humility from his own land, and came to Laban and served him; and there was given to him the sceptre of the twelve tribes of Israel.
    CHAP. XXXII
Whosoever will candidly consider each particular, will recognize the greatness of the gifts which were given by him.(12) For from him have sprung the priests and all the Levites who minister at the altar of God. From him also [was descended] our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh. From him [arose] kings, princes, and rulers of the race of Judah. Nor are his other tribes in small glory, inasmuch as God had promised, "Thy seed shall be as the stars of heaven." All these, therefore, were highly honoured, and made great, not for their own sake, or for their own works, or for the righteousness which they wrought, but through the operation of His will. And we, too, being called by His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified by ourselves, nor by our own wisdom, or understanding, or godliness, or works which we have wrought in holiness of heart; but by that faith through which, from the beginning, Almighty God has justified all men. Amen
CHAP. XXXIII.--BUT LET US NOT OWE UP THE PRACTICE OF GOOD WORKS AND LOVE. GOD HIMSELF IS AN EXAMPLE TO US OF GOOD WORKS.
What shall we do, then, brethren? Shall we become slothful in well-doing, and cease from the practice of love? God forbid that any such course should be followed by us! But rather let us hasten with all energy and readiness of mind to perform every good work. For the Creator and Lord of all Himself rejoices in His works. For by His infinitely great power He established the heavens, and by His incomprehensible wisdom He adorned them. He also divided the earth from the water which surrounds it, and fixed it upon the immovable foundation of His own will. The animals also which are upon it He commanded by His own word(16) into existence. So likewise, when He had formed the sea, and the living creatures which are in it, He enclosed them [within their proper bounds] by His own power. Above all,(17) with His holy and undefiled hands He formed man, the most excellent [of His creatures], and truly great through the understanding given him--the express likeness of His own image. For thus says God: "Let us make man in Our image, and after Our likeness. So God made man; male and female He created them."[1] Having thus finished all these things, He approved them, and blessed them, and said, "Increase and multiply."(2) We see,(3) then, HOW ALL RIGHTEOUS MEN HAVE BEEN DORNED WITH GOOD WORKS, and how the Lord Himself, adorning Himself with His works, rejoiced. Having therefore such an example, let us without delay accede to His will, and LET US WORK THE WORK OF RIGHTEOUSNESS with our whole strength.
CHAP. XXXIV.--GREAT IS THE REWARD OF GOOD WORKS WITH GOD. JOINED TOGETHER IN HARMONY, LET US IMPLORE THAT REWARD FROM HIM.
The good servant(4) receives the bread of his labour with confidence; the lazy and slothful cannot look his employer in the face. It is requisite, therefore, that we be prompt in the practice of well-doing; for of Him are all things. And thus He forewarns us: "Behold, the Lord [cometh], and His reward is before His face, TO RENDER TO EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS WORK."(5) He exhorts us, therefore, with our whole heart to attend to this,(6) that we be not lazy or slothful in any good work. Let our boasting and our confidence be in Him. Let us submit ourselves to His will.

Ben Hartley does not mean that we are justified by works though. Justification before man, but not works. If justification is by works we are all damned. It is by the perfect works of Christ. Through faith as Paul said APART FROM WORKS OF THE LAW.

We must obey and fear God! Yet in truth through experience with each other Is how we know love from each other, if a person does not get love from anyone how would they believe and know love? So when you think of that ,that's why at some point it is common sense why some ask the question if God is love?...the only way a person will know God is love is with the experience from God! ...yet we will all taste death ...and so many tasting death will only have the experience of them praying for healing, but no healing came, praying for life, but only and always death is the victorious one! Of course those left alive will say :" he is in a better place" but why and how do we know that ? With faith? While our experience is God has not spoken to anyone since Jesus was on earth?

Dr. Sproul has a great mind and some consider him to be a hero of the faith, which I would probably be one of those people. But he made a statement that I think Christians need to stop saying. He said when we come into the church on Sunday mornings, we enter the sacred and exit the secular, and I cringed because of the idea that is conveyed when people say things like that. When use that kind of terminology, instead of hearing it's intended meaning, too many people hear "exiting that which has nothing to do with God and entering that which does." That is a false dichotomy! Technically speaking, there is no such thing as "secular"! As Christians we need to stop thinking like that. We don't enter God's domain when we come to church on Sunday morning, or when we gather with other believers.
Some would explain it away by saying, "oh well, that's understood." Is it? Is it really! Too often we think with a mindset that this world belongs to unbelievers because "this is not our home". No, it's not our home; but that does not change the fact that this is still God's kingdom! God is sovereign! And as such, there is nothing that does not fall under his domain! God allows this world in its present condition for his divine purposes, but there isn't anything that is not a part of himself that is not under his rule!
Too often Christians shy away from being "in the world" because "we are not part of it", thinking that non-believers and Satan rule this world - almost as if we have to apologize for intruding on their space. Nothing could be further from the truth! Creation is fallen, but but it is still a part of God's reign! Satan is a nothing, comparatively speaking, and his rule is limited to only the non-believing world - and which even that is under sovereign God. Satan cannot even rule the little he does without first having God's decree.
Because God is, there is nowhere that is secular. Secular, even if only implied, gives the idea that something is outside of God's domain. I'm pretty sure, if they were to stop and consider it probably most Christians would readily admit that there is nothing that God does not rule over. But we are what we believe in our innermost being. Though consciously we would acknowledge that God rules over everything - with nothing accepted, too many of us live by the innermost belief that everything outside some kind of "Christian domain" is secular - and do so without realizing it or considering it thoughtfully. Too many of us limit ourselves to some sort of artificial boundary, often explaining things away because "it has nothing to do with the Christianity." That's just not true; there is nothing in this world that Christians do not have a say in because it is all a part of his kingdom.
Some would argue that it's not his kingdom, and that his kingdom isn't here yet. Without thoughtfully considering it, too many of us tend to live our lives as if we enter God's kingdom when we die. The Bible even uses that kind of terminology. But with a little understanding, we realize that it is meaning a kingdom in a different sense than that we are not already in his kingdom. One cannot enter where one already is. Similarly, consider the presence of God. We say that when we die we will be present with the Lord even though we know we are already in God's presence because he is everywhere present. No one I know of would deny that God is always right there with us. And that's not "in a sense" either. That is a literal fact: we are in God's presence at every moment, and there is never a time that that isn't so.
Well, the same thing holds true with God's kingdom. We don't die and "enter" the spiritual realm. We are in the spiritual realm right now! Reality is not that the physical realm contains the spiritual realm in the sense that the physical realm is all there is, but that a part of that contains something we call spiritual. It is that the spiritual realm is all there is and that there is a part of that is physical. God is spirit, and as such, his kingdom is spiritual, but that is not meant to imply the absence of the physical.
We need to be very careful what we are communicating to people when we use the word "secular". We first need to make sure that we are not holding a superficial understanding ourselves. And then, we need to make sure that what is being understood by others is that we are meaning "something that is not specifically Christian", and that we do not mean "something that is separate from God's jurisdiction".
