I totally agree it's definitely a cynical money grab and for £2m I would've expected a completely new car not just a rebodied Aventador. But hey they've sold em all so they've definitely got a customer base that has more money than sense.🤣🤣
Quite funny actually when the Aventador and it's variants (S, SV, SVJ, etc) are max £500k cars but with the addition of a puny electric motor and supercapacitor (and of course the redesigned exterior although I don't like the looks, the OG Countach is far better looking) it's over two millions, no wonder it's a cynical cash grab and what's even worse is that there are cars like Centenario that doesn't even have the hybrid assistance, just a body kit Aventador and similarly priced liked this car! SMH. I would have understood that the body is made from all carbon fibre but so is that for the SVJ.
Well, if you had the chance to legally steal the money off of corporate psychopaths and white collar criminals who want to emulate them? Wouldn't you? I mean, the whole point of hypercars is after all such that majority of the people buying them have more money than brains. Most popular brands like BMW or Audi are getting fake exhausts, fake vents, fake sounds, worse materials, worse reliability, we got Tesla fandom despite it's terrible materials and the new Lamborghini Countach is just a Sian underneath.
What? The only thing they have in common is that they are low, wide, and, what... have 4 wheels? They are very different in design. These fundamental likenesses arent so much design choices as they are out of necessity for going fast and sticking to the road.
I think it's good that at least they tried to do a modern take on a classic. Imo it looks better than the old school one, I think the swoopy lines fit it better.

This Countach is based on Sian, and the Sian is based on the Aventador SVJ. It's the same thing as what Lamborghini had done before with the 2006 Miura Concept where it was basically a Murcielago LP640 underneath.
There are some proper design nods in there. The front view is really reminiscent of Countach / Diablo, the straightish bonnet panel gaps and lights, terminator lines of the body panels. The hexagonal wheel arches are a welcome departure from the norm a la Countach original. The rear end looks a bit predictable for a 2023 supercar though. Let us see some differential, or expose some suspension or something a bit mad. That'd do the trick.

Got to love the Ford GT even more after this. They redesign a heritage brand to both respect the heritage look while doing massive changes that make it look like the future. Then they sell it for $400k Lamborghini takes a heritage brand and slaps the badge on a 2nd year body refresh of a Aventador with a hybrid motor and wants $2.6 mil for it. The Countach badges are easily $1 million in the asking price here, the latest in the NFT style of money making. Ferrari building a SUV isn't even as bad as what Lamborghini did here because at least they didn't call it the F-40. Those at Lamborghini should be ashamed at their laziness.

I don't like to be negative, but I feel a bit short changed. I really respect Jason's opinion, as he's very perceptive and good at articulating his thoughts on cars. However, this video was 5 minutes of him reading from a script, which had been woven entirely from a press release and the Wikipedia page on the original Countach, a minute on how the car looks, some German bikers looking at the car for 30 seconds, and then one piece of info: "the gearbox is a bit lumpy". I'm fairly sure Jason could talk for 10, 20 or 30 minutes about what the car's like to drive, but he was given about 11 seconds...
Hi Rob, I directed this film and I promise plenty of Jason's own thoughts went into it - a lot of it completely unscripted. The 1.5 million dollars extra is to fund future Lamborghini projects and/or research & development. Bentley has done the highest with the Exelero, and still do it till this day including Rolls Royce coach builds, 1of Ferraris, etc. So adding up 1.5M x 112 was needed to fund something. Could’ve been to raise money for investors (stock). Same story about the Sian, Centenario, Veneno, etc. The new Countach is beautiful in my opinion but hardly worth anything over $500k… the Aventador successor will be new from ground up; DCT, revamped V12, interior, hybridization, infotainment, etc.

Dear, old Harry was getting super-excited about a new, bland, blue Maserati...
Love this car...... Would loved to have seen an outrageous, wide as hell & space like evil version of the much more badass DIABLO SV though!!!!
Nice puff of blue smoke at the start.
Excellent review and I couldn't agree more about the design
One of the rare occasions where I wished the video was more in depth & longer. I would have appreciated more eye & ear candy.😂
Rear lights could have been closer to the original... Pity!
Yeah I agree. There’s so much more they could have done to bring it closer to the original. Imagine a huge wing, would be so outlandish but brilliant
@@James-oo1yq the old wing caused lift, they wanted this closer to the original I'm guessing.
Agreed, surely they could have done something with the rear lights for not too much cash. I'd like the spoiler too.
Man I really wish they put a wing on it, like on the original LP5000s.
Love it, but that steering wheel is waaaay too large (maybe it’s the camera angle).
The problem with the gearbox is that it isn’t a manual
2 mil is crazy... But it looks and sounds soooo cool
Good 👍 stuff fam
