- Here it is! The past 45 days of our lives condensed into 14 minutes.
This is our entire build out from start to finish.
We are so excited to take you all on this journey with us!
We hope you enjoy, and any "Likes and Subscribes" are greatly appreciated.
Stay Tuned: Full bus tour video coming soon :)
As someone who can't built a thing, I have unending admiration for carpenters and mechanics and electricians and people who are handy with tools. How satisfying it must be to see the fruit of one's labor once one finishes a project such as this one.
Yes, that's for sure. If I converted a bus, I'd throw a mattress onto a crude wooden frame, throw in a cassette toilet, maybe a plastic folding table or two, a non-electric cooler, a weed-killer pump action sprayer for showers and dish washing, etc etc etc. These guys are absolutely amazing!!
Same 🖤
@@gmaneis Haha that's about all I could do too
Same here.
I absolutely second your comment. ❤
I was fortunate to have seen the finished product in person a couple days ago! What amazing work they did and so professionally done! What ingenuity! Well done, Tanner family!
Thank You Tia! I am so glad we got to give you the official tour in person!
Great layout and beautiful build! I love schoolies because of the width of the bus!
Thank you! I agree the width of them is so nice!
My daughter and her husband are very creative and loved doing this new home for them and their dogs. Well done!
Love you Mom!
i agree. tell them that they did awesome! buses are the only things that has a big enough window for the kitchen area. Campers dont have this!
Beautiful. I wish I can see the finish result. Love that you are able to install closet and bathroom as well. That is a MUST for me. And you did a great job on this one.
Nice conversion. Can't believe it took just 45 days!!
You guys have a done a great job. You obviously have talent. Now lets do a walk trough with some comments. Cheers
We have a little walkthrough on this channel, and eventually we will do more videos where we go into more detail :)
Love how the pups are guarding the door :)
Looks quite nice . Kindly make a Van Tour . Would like to see the details. Thanks . Congratulations
Thank you so much! Uploading the bus tour right now!
@@tanneradventures3789 can't wait to see it! Can I suggest y'all watch leave her wild she did a van conversion and now doing a bus conversion.
I love it! That desk by the driver seat is NICE!
Thank you! We love how it turned out!
This is so awesome and happy for your new awaited adventures to come
Loved watching and really first class work. Best of luck in your travels. Looking forward to following along. Please keep it up and you will get more comfortable.
Thank you, Jim!
Two thumbs up!!! Very nice.😀
Thank you!!
Great job! Loved watching the process.
That’s a nice shop and good wood work being done . I think that bus is going to be nice
Thank you so much! Here's a link to our walkthrough if you're interested and haven't seen it yet :)

This is the kind of build/vid that leaves you wanting more. Versus a 3hr plus boring festival of a build that insists upon itself, and describes every groove on a screw just to end up with an embarrassment of a build 😱😒🥱😅. Great job. 👍😉👌💪
Thank you so much! We try to keep things under 3 hours haha 😆
Muyyy bueno!!! disfruté mucho de su trabajo....bien hecho el video...saludos desde Argentina
Love watching the dogs !! Awesome video !!
Thank you so much! They thought they were being SO helpful!
I like how the doggies try to
"help". 🙂🐕🐕
They think they're real helpful!
And it's good to see that you had the two best supervisors watching the job. Woof Woof
They definitely had to be involved!
Awesome job sir great work and team.
Thank you so much
Yay so excited. Finally moving out my suv after 4 months full time while working remotely.
Got a shuttle bus today and exploring youtube for floorplans 😵
Yay for you!! Congratulations! You're going to feel like you're in a mansion!!
good job, the best part of the super fast build is the dogs, underfoot, moving around sleeping and just moving around at break neck speed. lol
Thank you! We got a laugh out of that too! They had to be involved!
Well planned and executed! Freaking awesome video.
Thank you!
I have the same bus. Looking forward to the tour. I am not finished.
Good luck with your build!
i am glad you atleast used one of the bus seats!!
Thank you! It made sense!
Yes, it was very well done.
Thanks!
This is one of the best time lapse builds that I have seen in a such a long time. I really enjoyed and I also like how you turn those cupboards vertical instead of horizontal used them that way. I didn't think about that. LOL Awesome job guys! I'm going to bring my build to you!!!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate that!
I liked the way you set up your cameras to record, stationary and not bouncing from one thing to another, it let us see complete build. How long did the build take? You do amazing work together and looks great....
I’m amazed it took you only 45 days and it’s such a professional build! Congratulations on a beautiful job! 👏👏✨🙌💕🥂💫
Thank you so much!
Love it! Good job!
Thank you!!
You are truly amazing! I wish I could move half that fast, what do you smoke.
Alot of good stuff 😜
Well done 👏✔👍👌😀🙌👏✔👍
Thank you 😊
Yay! You guys are awesome!
Thank you Zach!
Great video..
Thank you!
Beautiful
just subscribed! love your rig, so interesting to see "behind the build" great job!
Thank you so much, Estelle! So happy to have you here ❤
I enjoyed this video!
You guys KILLED IT!!!
This is my dream in the future. To remodel an old bus with my boyfriend and travel the country with our pets
I hope your dream comes true girl ! I have the exact mini goal with my boyfriend❤🙏🏼
I'm rooting for you! Put it in the universe and work for it and your dream will come true 🙏❤
All the best😊
Great job guys. I love the music! Who is the artist??
Thank you! Its just one of the free songs on Microsoft video editor 😂
Great job!
Thanks!
My wife and I are looking at a 15 passenger/2 wheelchair bus very similar to this with the rear wheelchair lift. We will be doing a floor plan like this with the rear bed, however since we will be using it for camping in local campgrounds, we don’t need a full bath, only a toilet for nighttime use. And we really only need a small kitchen with a mini fridge, microwave, and a small sink. Would really have liked to see more details on how you did your plumbing.
Thank you! I will add this to our list of future videos! Putting the bed in the back is probably my FAVORITE thing. We have the best views from our bed, and on nice days we open the rear and lift doors and get a fantastic breeze. I think you'll love it!
I would love to get involved in doing something like this.awesome
It is truly freeing and such a fun lifestyle
Like from Brazil - Mogi das Cruzes city - São Paulo state.
Question: How long was the time lapse on this bus build? It looks wonderful inside!
Thanks
Increíble trabajo me podrían decir la descripción completa del vehículo que usaron modelo y de que año es ??
Great job
Inspiring, thank you for sharing it
Absolutely great.
Amazing ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
The process was shown but the end product was not shown and I could not admire and marvel the finished product to my hearts contend but otherwise great work.
Thank you! We also have a tour video on this channel :)
good build...
Thank you!
hope im not to late with my question but... how did yall mount in the cabinets and shelfs? did yall screw them into the walls an floors?
fantastic! just found your channel and got lots of ideas for our own build. really love the way you handled the bathroom! what are the floor dimensions, including the shower pan?
Thank you so much! I am glad you got some ideas! Our bathroom area is about 32" wide, and about 6' long
@@tanneradventures3789 thankyou!
Beautiful, how long take you to do all this?
Great video I subscribed
Thanks so much!
Awesome video. I have seen a lot of bus/van conversion videos and curious about one thing. Instead of building furniture is it possible to simply use regular house furniture such as couch?
beautiful transformation, thanks for sharing, if you can ask a question, how many miles does an engine of that vehicle last, thank you
Thank you so much! Because it is a diesel, we expect it to last well over 200,000 miles
Amazing work! Do you mind share the contact of the company that built your bud? Thnaks
We built it ourselves (well my husband Joe built it)! 🥰
A tour of the finish product would be nice 🙂
Thanks for checking us out! You can watch our your video here:
th-cam.com/video/kIY_m635AvU/w-d-xo.html
Is there a tour of this skoolie? I wanna see the finished bathroom and other areas!
We do have a little tour video on our channel!
I want one so bad. 💜💜
You should go for it! it is a truly freeing Lifestyle!
What do you use to prevent people from breaking in through the front door?
We have 2 locks on the door. One can be locked from the outside for when we're gone, and one we can lock from the inside.
Am I correct that the metal ceiling was covered with reflectix and covered over leaving the original insulation intact? I'm in the process of converting a bus and was wondering how your insulation set up is doing vs a total gut and re-insulate. My ceiling is in really good shape and I'd rather leave it in place and do what you did instead of a total gutting and replacement. What do you estimate your R value is for your ceiling? Great time lapse video and I enjoyed your walk through video as well.
Thank you so much! We ended up taking the original metal ceiling down and insulated with reflectix, then added some batting to conserve headroom, and I would say we probably have an R value of 9 or 10. So far, we've had it in some pretty cold snowy temperatures and even with all the windows, it retains heat pretty well. I would also say it doesn't get too hot in the summer either. The original ceiling did have quite a bit of insulation in it, so I am sure if you were to leave it, it would be just fine!
@@tanneradventures3789 Thanks for the reply! I'll give it a try and see how it goes. I just bought my bus last week and I dont want to start tearing into it too much until later in the year so I dont miss out on summer trips. Right now it's just going to be a basic set up (mostly stock) to use until the real build starts late fall.
wondering how ya sealed up the windows from leaking behind the wood..seems to be a problem ..mainly the schoolies convertion...?
We didn't have any issues with them leaking when we tested them before covering. But we did also spray the insides with black rubberized paint before covering
good job
Thank you!
Wow that's awesome
Fun to watch.
Please do a tour of your finished home.
Uploading right now!
@@tanneradventures3789 thanks
What type of insurance do you carry on this?
We have it insured as an RV, Farmers insurance helped us find a third party that would do that. I think it's called "foremost" insurance?
I have often wondered how people make money. On the road in this life style.
Millions of people work remotely...my husband does (except we live in a regular house). Everyday my husband "goes" to work by going upstairs where he set up his office in one of our guest rooms. We live in North Carolina, but he works "in NYC."
@@ElizaDolittle but not everyone who does this lifestyle works remotely.
It can be something people do on occasion and not full time. It may be a home but not always a vacation trip.
@@5150of33supporters they do, but some are also performers and travel to their venues from their home on wheels; some are artists and create their art at home to sell at various venues; some run hair and nail salons from their skoolies (I've seen that). One couple I saw create custom t-shirt prints and travel to various venues to sell them. There are so many ways of making money and living this lifestyle. Some are retired. Some, like KeepitReal (comment above mine) says, only use these homes on wheels for vacation purposes.
I just got lucky with a job that will pay me year round and I can work from anywhere for 7 months of the year. Before that though, we did seasonal work! It payed well and allowed us to travel. We worked in Alaska for a few summers
Very nice
Bravo!
Would you mind sharing the total cost for your build? Just trying to get a budget idea!
We put about $14,000 into our build!
Great video! TH-cam keeps feeding me your old videos now that I'm subscribed. Did you fabricate the roof deck frame yourselves?
Hhoo
Ugn
Yes, we had a friend that helped us weld it together!
Hey! Awesome video, thinking about doing one of these conversion myself in a few years…quick question, what is the dog’s name? They look really cute!
Do it! You won't regret it! The white Dog is Kevin, and the gray one is Ruger
How many feet have the bus from bumper to bumper
To everyone out there doing van conversions. Stop buying 100w 12v solar panels. Instead, look at getting 250w panels at a higher voltage and a mttp charge controller. 12v solar panels stop charging when they drop below 12 volts. You will only get 3-4 hours of charge time a day. With a larger voltage panel and a mttp charge controller, you will double that time.
Great build. Did you guys use regular fiberglass insulation or something else? Can't tell for sure what the product is from the video
We go over this in our new video: th-cam.com/video/woBnEITera4/w-d-xo.html
and we list a link to it in the description so you can check it out! :)
Man I wish I could do my conversion in less than 14 minutes. Oh well I guess I'll just have to settle for human speed. (Nice build)
Thank you!
I would have built the frames from plastic.
Why? That would be less durable?
@@duplicateify Wrong. I'm talking about strong plastic! The stuff they use to make plastic prefab houses!
Give it a try! Would probably be much lighter
Me gustó quiero hacerlo para viajar por todo el país 🇵🇦
My husband and I are looking at a 20 passenger shuttle bus. We need the extra space to have room for a second conversion bed and legal seating for 3. How difficult have you found it to be to find parking?
Hello! We went with this size because we felt something bigger would limit us to only RV parks when trying to find places to park for the night, and we would have to plan much more about where we'd be going in towns and stuff. I think a 20 passenger would be close enough in size that you'd probably still be fine!
What's the lovely music?!
It just came on my Microsoft video editor!
How many legal seats are in it besides the driver?
There's the driver's seat, and then we used a bus seat for our table area, so there are 2 additional seat belts for passengers
Can you park in residential like infrint if a home?
It depends on the place, but most likely! We're just a little bigger than a full-sized truck
Did you permanently closed the windows( ones that hidden)? If so how?
I like your bus
Thank you!
HELLO, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY dollars you spent on your job, thanks
Hello! We put about $14,000 into the build, but it could definitely be done cheaper
@@tanneradventures3789 14k plus the cost of the vehicle?
So did you remove the floor to the rail?
How much was the bus and where did you get it from
I think the bus was $13,000. We found it on Autotrader!
what is price of this bus?
We go over total cost of everything in our new video: th-cam.com/video/woBnEITera4/w-d-xo.html
Feel free to skip ahead, times are in the description :)
When I do my build, I don't want lots of cabinets. Want great insulation and AC and diesel heater and bathroom. I will fill in the rest with couches, dining table and beds and cooking area. But this is beautiful, but not for me.
Thats the beauty of it: you can start from nothing and make it completely your own 😁
Im seriously considering getting a short bus and converting it.. im tired of renting, my country the prices of homes are blown out of proportion and I work remotely.. i think it was meant to be.. the sad thing is ... I dont even know how to use a hammer... wish there was a starting guide for converting short buses because in my country they are dirt cheap...
TH-cam my friend! There's "How-to" videos for everything! If its something you want to do, give it a try and be free! ❤
Curious.....how tall are you? What's your internal height clearance after the build? (Great job!)
I'm 4'11 and Joe is 6'3. Our internal height is just a bit taller than that. Joe can still stand straight along the middle. (Thanks!!)
Please how many feet of build able space
We had about 120 sq. Ft. Of living space!
@@tanneradventures3789
That helps, I have a plan drawn up and I need a minimum of 7.5 ‘ wide x 15 feet long.
in the future when im 18 me and my bestfreind are gonna buy a bus together and convert it , were very exited
I'm excited for you! There's so much of this world to experience and enjoy, and this lifestyle is fantastic. I hope you guys do it and enjoy every minute ❤
How much would you say this would cost in total?
The build it'self was about $17,000, and the bus was about $13,000, so about $30,000 total. We slpurged and got an expensive shower and solar system, and you could definitely do it for cheaper!
What type of shuttle bus is this
It's a 2008 Chevy Duramax with a 13 passenger Collins bus body. (With Wheelchair lift)
