I found it especially interesting to hear Ms. Hendricks talk about not being recognized after "Mad Men" finished. I once read the autobiography of Colleen Moore who was a mega-star in silent films and also did critically acclaimed work in sound movies up to about 1935. At a still fairly young age Miss Moore left films. She wrote about walking down Fifth Avenue in New York after retiring, that when she was working she would have been mobbed on the street. but three years later no one noticed her "...and I couldn't have been happier".

An intelligent, comely lass,indeed! Having a critical parent can be both a curse and blessing. A blessing because it is coming from a position of love whereas show biz criticism is harsh and impersonal. In a way, her Dad's critiques helped form an armor against the trade's slings and arrows.
