Your video is informative yet includes levity. I have been in business for 20+ years and good on you for making repairs on Mercs a bit more easy for the masses who can't afford to go to us techs.
Man you were a lifesaver, I just had the window on my CLK550 get stuck half open and it wouldnt move. Used this video step by step and just finished, half of a saturday and saved myself who knows how much from a shop to do the same.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but mike I can't wait to see what you do next. You along with some other channels I watch prove that with a few tools and some research that almost anyone can work on their own vehicles. It's just more entertaining to see you do it. This is good. I just picked up a 06’ CLK 500. Of course neither rear window works nor the seatbelt concierge. But I just love this body style so it’ll be work the work over time.
What is the name of the small part in the bag that you use to perform this repair? I searched ''window regulator for the SLK350' but most sites are coming up with the whole assembly for around 350 dollars. Keep up the good work, mate. Your videos are really fun and easy to follow.
Great video Mike, I’m about to follow your step by step process on my 2005 CLK55 AMG cabriolet A209 to fix the rear window regulator First thing I did I ran into trouble. Undid the 2 Phillips tip screws on the door pillar and removed the small plate and rubber seal and pulled down the door seal. Then looked for the little hook that releases the interior door panel. There is none! Maybe MB changed the system on the later cars Can you offer some advice on this or at least, some tips how I remove the panel given no release hook I am able to simply pop off the upper part of the panel but don’t want to start prying things off in case I damage something Thanks
I just rebuilt my rear regulator on my 1999 CL500 (C140). I have a Very good question. I dont see a connector like the one you connected for this up and down feature. Upon reconnecting the motor and rolling the window down for 10 seconds and then, up for 10 seconds (to re-train the motor revolutions). So, in normal operation when the window is up, the rear window is down about 3mm or so, which is standard while the front door is open. Then, BOTH the front and rear window go up (as it should) to create the seal. The issue that I am having is the window goes back down those 3mm and stays that way. Every time I open the door, the same thing occurs. Rear window goes up then half a second later it goes down 3mm and stays down. What is happening, and what may I do to repair this fluke? Your videos were EXCEPTIONAL and very helpful in my rebuild. Cheers on ya for that. I look forward to hearing back from you, sir.

Monkey 🐒 Wrench 🔧 Mike! Oh the Frohlocken is back on! The rear windows on my 1997 S600 Coupe were pretty similar. Same issue, broke plastic which then led to the wire curling up, oh what a job that was! Great job Mike! Your buddy Peter from Kansas
@Perry Elyod You mean those plastic popup things that break the first time someone tries to use them? I still have pieces of those somewhere in my 01 e320. Lol
My 85 300d had those and they were bolted in so fairly easy job. My 01 e320 are cable mechanisms and they are riveted. The back are actually not bad. Just 4 rivets. The front is a complex thing with 9 rivets. I've replaced both back ones and right front.

I really appreciate your helpful video. My 2002 Mercedes 320CLK convert just needs the back window height adjusted. It goes 1/4 inch higher than the front drivers window and has caused tearing of the rubber molding when put up. Is that a much easier job than the regulator issue? I saw the tree bolts adjustment you spoke of.

Is there anytging on this window that prevents the top from opening all the way, on the convertible version? Like a switch to let the system know when the wi dows are all the way down? This is how far my top gets when opening it. But it did this before the window wouldn't roll down. So not sure if a switch is there or not? I remember paying $500 maple dollars for my wifes car for both windows. The mechanic told me he did so many he can do it blindfolded.
