As usual you give a good comprehensive overview of what you are trying to accomplish. I like that no nonsense approach. You are also becoming a lot more comfortable in your videos. Thanks for sharing this information with us.
MR. Mike. This is the kind of videos I like . "Fixin' Things!" There's just something about watching a good mechanic working and fixing things may they be engines or suspension or even small stuff like the window regulator. I watch a varied assortment from something as small as a watch all the way to big machinery and everything in between. And congrads on the way your channel is growing. I always enjoy seeing someone working at one place and popping up somewhere else. It gives me something new to watch. Keep up the good work.
"Bob's Mercedes repair and plumbing service, how may I help you?" Magic Mike definitely knows his Merc's. That poor SLK definitely got the eight hundred pound gorilla door panel repair treatment. Glad to see that this SLK is in good hands now.
Nice video Mike. It just goes to show you that the first thing you think might be the problem is often not the cause. You have the patience and experience to recognize what is wrong and fix it the right way. Sometimes the fixes are pretty straightforward once you spend the time to diagnose the cause.
Love the injection of your own music into the cut scenes. This brings to mind a comment Wizard made about how sometimes part of a charge for a repair is when the mechanic has to _fix_ another person's poor repair choices. At least you found out the issues and the repairs weren't too bad.
Wow Mike! You sure uncovered a bag of worms during what has become a door restoration project. The music along the way is a great accompaniment to the video as well. Thumbs up!
The difference between a perfectionist and a weekend warrior is evident in the approach tajen in this video Mike. My dad always told me that if a job is not worth doing properly than don't bother to do it at all. Thanks for demonstrating how it should be done. Bushyboy Oz.
I just picked up an SLK32 and it's sitting for the winter. Keep these videos coming, I'm hoping you'll be a library of information by the time it warms up and I can start wrenching on it come springtime. :D
Go Mike! Have been following your work through Car Wizard for years and good to see you with your own channel. Love the original music. Keep up the great work and thank you
My old CLK also had a passenger window that wouldn't come up all the way without a little help sometimes. I meant to take it apart and studied a lot of these removals. It all looks so familiar. :) Never actually got around to it before I traded it for a newer one. I liked that car though there were tons of tiny details already kind of broken and I was worried it was going to dissolve into a heap of rust any day.
I guess hiding a screw behind a scary SrS cover is one way to get ensure people will come to the Mercedes dealer when they can't figure out how to get the door card off!!
Thanks Mike for producing those very informative videos! One question: is there a specific reason why, when you need additional lighting, you prefer not using your phone's own light? It would then be perfectly aligned with the phone camera's field of view and save you from holding a separate source of light.
Glad to see your hard work is paying off Mike.I hate whistling window too. That was a good repair, and a great showing of what can go wrong if you don't know what you're doing as you do a home repair.I'm guessing the window was broken and replaced.?.Congrats on all the well earned and deserved subs.
I guess that car is too old to have indexing windows, so they come up into the door seal rather than against it. I've had to replace three of the regulators on my 01 e320. It's not fun, and one of those has gotten broken again. The center screw on my panel is below the arm rest on the panel, and the front one is under the trim where the inside handle is, so that part is pretty simple. I've also had to replace the door straps. When one of those ball bearings comes out that are spring-loaded, the whole thing kinda explodes. There should be a plastic sleeve to slide over the inside of the strap to protect it, and it should have a lot of grease in it.
Should that window drop a bit when you start open door, and close again when you shut the door? Many cars with frameless windows do that small drop to ease access and to save that rubber seal.
I know nothing about Mercedes-Benz but I have had two jaguar XK eights, a hardtop and a convertible and on both of them as soon as you pull door handle the window and drop cord rich did you open the door can you close the door window goes back up
MM, I need to one day take the door panel off of my 2nd car to get to a code for the door security code on my '05 Lincoln Town Car (they say it's on a module in the door) since the card with the code is not in the owner's manual. That door panel looked fairly easy, but you know what you are doing. Do you know of anything specific I should know about before I attempt to do mine? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Nailed it on the checkstrap comment i made on your last video! But then the same thing had happened to my car. The mechanism inside the door gets stiffer with age and eventually it pops off the mount. a previous owner had also tried to repair mine and it eventually fatigued the door skin so i had to add some new metal in there!
It's the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks, Hoovie!
Had that same thought before seeing your post 🤣
Myself as well !
😁😂👍🏻
Interesting car that still had some content still left in it. Hoovie knows the vid biz.
As usual you give a good comprehensive overview of what you are trying to accomplish. I like that no nonsense approach. You are also becoming a lot more comfortable in your videos. Thanks for sharing this information with us.
I think it would be cool to have a video of you repairing the door panel. Just a thought
Congratulations to Magic Mike on the channel growth your blowing up quick and showing what your doing in detail helps all DIYers.
You obviously know what you're doing!

Mike, love these videos! I love seeing the work you're doing and the "realness" of what you're going through with an older car!
"Bob's Mercedes repair and plumbing service, how may I help you?" Magic Mike definitely knows his Merc's. That poor SLK definitely got the eight hundred pound gorilla door panel repair treatment. Glad to see that this SLK is in good hands now.

Good work Mike. Nice vid. Keep them coming!
I like the Wizard and Hoovie but mike, vango and the Car Ninja are my favorite 3 TH-camrs
Would love to see how you re-glued the parts for the door card.
Wow Mike! You sure uncovered a bag of worms during what has become a door restoration project. The music along the way is a great accompaniment to the video as well. Thumbs up!
Well done, Mike! I'm impressed by your attention to detail. I'd have you work on my car anytime!

Hey Mike, I'm really enjoying your video's on your AMG32. I have one as well.
A great repair on a tricky job - very skilful Magic Mike.
This is an excellent series of repairs. Should be perfect by spring
Very interesting as always !
The previous repairs that was done is what I called back in the day "tamper sickness"

Too right!! My old boy reckons a good man can always do sloppy work but a sloppy man can never do good work!!
I totally enjoy you and your videos thank you for great content
Just like Doug, Hoovie and the Wizard, it's great to see you getting more comfortable in front of the camera and improving all the time.
Another cool video, great work!
Man that ONE door got issues. Imagine the rest of that car.
Great video I liked the format of this one. Keep it up Mike
Hey Magic Mike, very informative video, thanks for sharing your knowledge & experience!!! Congratulations on 27,000 subscribers!!! 👍🙂👍
This was a fascinating repair video…the secrets to fit and finish.
Great job!
As an ex-Crossfire owner, I feel your pain, bud!
Great video. That door inside was in rough shape.
You are welcome for the subs and views, keep getting repair videos :)

Great video MM, please in the next video show the part numbers for all the parts needed! Thanks!!!
Love this. A completely sorted car is a joy.
Always entertaining and very informative! Keep the momentum going Mike!!
I've flipped a LOT of cars in my lifetime. I've found over the years that I mostly repair what somebody else has done or added to the car.
Thanks Mike for the video's, you're doing great! 👍👍Keep them coming!
Good fix, keep the videos coming. 👍
Great video Mike, fix the Benz and flip it, problems with them cars can be FOREVER, Thank u

Congrats on your channel growth, Mike! Love seeing your videos showing your knowledge and experience.

nice video. hop[e you get this slk to a perfect condition.
There is always 'work' for improvement :)
Nice one Mike - am enjoying the series- best regards from Brazil!
Subscribed and liked. Love the “Kubrick esque” music. So happy your channel is taking off… Best wishes.
You are doing a great job MM!
screw a piece of nylon tie down strap in place where the door check strap was as a temporary limiter until you get the right part
Great detective work Mike 😊
I would think you would have been getting a lot of wind noise with that window
very interesting issue and fix
Outstanding!
Good stuff Mike, keep 'em coming. How about some merchandise? First should be a shirt with 'Sounds good' on it.
Magic Mike Bobble Heads would be a great first bit of merch.
Shared in Facebook. Good video!
Previous repair made using a set of hammers?
I've got a slight window overlap problem myself with a 1999 Mustang Cobra Convertible.... Now i know that it is fixable!

Where do you get parts for this door?
Cheers bro, nice work
Love following this! Great job Mike.

What adhesive do you use on “plastics”? I find Valco Hv-350 works pretty good on many types of plastic
Should that window drop a bit when you start open door, and close again when you shut the door? Many cars with frameless windows do that small drop to ease access and to save that rubber seal.
Check if the glass is supposed drop a few mm when you open the door, the drivers side might tell you that.
What about replacing all the seals?
Fantastic Mike. Would ya work on my Mark V's windows? ;)
cool video
great video Mike. any triathlon's in the future?
Someone really did a number on that door.
Useful vid, Mike. Well done. BTW, did you create your own music interludes?
cool car
👍
Hey Magic Mike! What type of glue do you use to attach clip holder to the door panel?
Window Grease 😮

Always makes it worse when you have to mop-up someone else's handywork......
Even smart techs like magic Mike makes. Boo boos....
The glass appears to be scratched. You might want to do the "why we're there" on that and get a new side glass "while you're there".
Nice work! Maybe loose the AirPods while on camera?
Did you even think to just use adhesive plastic on this window to stop the air? Why do so much work when you can just tape it with gorilla tape
