60 Years Old Valve Grinder Restoration

  • I bought this 1950s-1960s Dewet valve grinder not so long ago for a restoration. This is a multi tool for grinding valve and valve stems. The left wheel can be used as a standard bench grinder. Unfortunately I didn't find the proper grinding wheel for now.
All bearing were oiled before first test, and oil was added to each oil hole

That's a very heavy duty, well built machine. Didn't show a lot of wear for its age. They don't make much like that anymore. Good job!

The valve grinders are still very much in use today although younger mechanics probably don't know how to use those.
In the marine those are quite common too still.
Nice restoration nevertheless and subscribed of course.
Edit, thanks no annoying unnecessary background music or noise.

I am really surprised as to how nice the machine was made back in the day. Even the cast ribs inside the machines frame is just classic old school. This machine could run indefinitely. Something the new machine do not have a prayer. Thanks you for showing use some really cool rebuild. Look forward to see more please too.
