Do you see more colleges dropping the SAT, so the end result is the same for Asian students (or potentially worse)?
The vast majority of colleges are (and remain) test optional, so they haven't exactly "dropped" the SAT requirement necessarily.
Asian students with high test scores can still submit their scores and have it help their application. The most notable schools that are test blind remain the UCs and Caltech, along with some liberal arts colleges, but the list hasn't really expanded since last year, so we don't necessarily see a trend of colleges completely dropping the SAT as an option.
We still recommend our students to do well on the SAT or ACT, especially if they don't have perfect grades, as it gives them another aspect to strengthen their application credentials.
