I actually saw the water drain out of part of the Tampa Bay about 11 years ago when there was a major hurricane approaching the area . It was the creepiest thing and I actually had to get out of the car , videotape it and call my son because where the bay was was just now mud ... of course much further out there was water but where I was going over a small bridge ... just mud pretty much everywhere .

The only thing more wasteful than war itself is what usually happens to the ships and equipment that were so vital for the conflict. The US nuclear tests alone destroyed 100s of ships, not to mention all the incredibly high grade metals from the weapons left aboard during the tests.

On the one hand , I love to hear of these lost ship wreaks……the history, to remember and honor the sacrifices of the crews. On the other hand, it is such an expense, when there are so many things that could be done for the world’s humanity. To fight disease, hunger, illiteracy and ignorance……the ignorance and greed that caused the wars in the first place. Though it is of course only the dreams of an idealist that humanity can end our desires for war.
