    Both fireplaces are great. I like the way that you added the punched pieces to add design to them, will have to try that. One thing I have found useful in doll houses is the old weaved place mats, they can be cut easily and either separated or used to make blinds for the windows. Thank you for sharing and you have a great day

    I love both fireplaces. I also love that I can just pull a cereal box out of the cabinet and empty it for material to build with🤣😂. I, too, am happy for the edits of the live stream. I don't have the patience to listen that long and I have "squirrel 🐿️" moments and miss some information. All that aside I enjoy watching all your videos.

    I'm late to watching this one. Watching your videos make me so happy. It's been a tough time for me lately having lost my mom recently, not able to visit my family due to lockdown, not worked since September due to covid and my band haven't played for over a year for the same reasons. Tough times for everyone. Making little models from scratch have kept me sane. Your videos are a little oasis :) Thank you so much Ara :)

    Always love the end of your videos. They make me chuckle. Thank you SO much for the svgs too. I really want to try and make one of these, and I was having a hard time getting the hand drawn into svg format, because I'm still learning how to do that.. haha (self taught takes longer sometimes) I did look up Victorian fireplace hearths and 70's fireplace hearths.. and as I remember, most 70's fireplaces were stone and brick. So, most of the photos I found for the 70's were of that too.. But seeing as yours was built in the Victorian era, unless they revamped the whole fireplace, it looks like it would have had the multi colored tiles, or two toned tiles, and even decorative tiles depending on their budget back then, I guess. heh Maybe your skeletons were royal and could afford the good tiles!! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Yes, I watched the live stream, and I came back and watched this too.. and I still enjoyed it.

    Lovely! Both the mantlepieces turned out great! I'd vote for some mosaic tiles in front of the fireplaces, just because I don't think anyone would bother to change them out. Either a simple checkerboard or a mosaic and very darkened with age.

    for the fireplace tiles, maybe use thin foam board and make little squares in the board, then maybe a solid light neutral color for majority of it and a complimenting color and paint a border. like one row of neutral on the outer edges, then one row of the other color (or colors), then rest the neutral again. like tracing the shape. ugh, i hope that makes sense, i can picture it in my head but have a hard time describing it, but kind of like what you see in old inlay wood floors or some tile patterns in old bathrooms. they put a little border around the entire room in a smaller tile and a different color or a pattern tile.

    I'm feeling pretty dumb right about now. No matter how I print out your patterns, the little square never matches up to 1". WHAT am I doing wrong???? I absolutely LOVE your posts and I really enjoy watching you. I have completed the 1/24th scale retro kitchen trio and people are so amazed at how incredibly realistic they are. I tried using the printed pattern but gave up and ordered the kits and I am so glad I did. Im in love with them. Anyway, any suggestions on printing?

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All printers seem to print a bit different so it can take a bit of fine tuning to get the square to come out at 1". The first question is are you printing on 8.5x11 paper? I know different countries around the world use different paper. If you are then let me know what size the square is coming out and I will try to help as best I can!

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may have to change the % that your printer is printing at. So if it needs to be a bit bigger maybe try printing at 105% and see if that is better and then keep increasing until it's right ;) Luckily fireplaces don't have to fit exact specifications so you can get it close and it will still look right :)

    Hi Ara. I think the tiles should be dark green and cream in the sitting room and navy and cream in the other room. Thanks for the edited version of these fire surrounds. All my best Sharyn

    Is the house pre 1900? Keep wooden floors.

    I’m so glad you’ve decided to make theses kinds of videos! It’s was nice to hear everyone down your way is fine.. I love the cream color one in the dining room.
    I Pictured one of the big black Velvet paintings, skull dogs playing poker. That would be so cute.. an for the tiles, I’m sure you’ll come up with something. But I’d make sure they were Definitely printed. Take care an stay safe!

    Love it still (had to leave the live early) Underneath the cream (dining room) I would go for a blue and white/cream blocked tile floor, as that would match color wise with the wallpaper. For the living room tiles cream or a Burgundy red: again matching with the wallpaper color.

    Definitely add some patterned tile to the threshold! Would love to see you create a beautiful tile. White tile with blue patterns, maybe?
