I know this is a strange place to put it, but I just have to say... thank you Mr. Happy. I just beat Turn 9 yesterday after hundreds of DFs and failures. While the Japanese (I'm on Valefor) method of doing stuff is different from yours, watching the videos kind of gave me the support I needed to keep trying. I finally got a group with like... uber dps (I was healing) and while a few people died, we managed to get the kill... Finally.. T____T
Can i ask you guys something? Sry for my bad english. he says at 18:14 that ice never hit the same person again but its hits all the time the same person. Can someone tell me why
for those confused about why mr happy says HE HIM AND HIS for neal dues darnus in 1.0 neal was a man and has always been a man but his reconstruction from the aether has given him a feminine/female body most likely due to the aether not distinguishing between genders, so even tho it is a female body the correct terms are to call neal via male pronouns since it is the same neal from 1.0
Im pretty sure he was put back together by Bahamut off of Nael's life and memories and since he killed a warrior woman named Bradamante, which is why he decided to name his lance weapon after, that this was the visage of that woman. But still working on the turn to see what happens.
Yea now i know this :3 back when i typed that comment, the only people who had peaked turn 9 was both japanese groups and order of the blue harder. :3 now i know all the bits of lore that they say once turn 9 is completed :D
Took me and my team over a month of practicing this fight until we were good enough to finally beat it! The 1st phase isnt too bad...unless you are a healer! Keeping the tank alive during her brutal attacks is tough but its when her dragon pals arive shit starts to get insane! Trying to memorize everything AND do your job at the same time is hell and only gets worse once the fire, ice and lightning dragon attacks are added, oh, and then dive bombs which are the worst thing ever. This. Is. Hell.
Hello, as tank sometimes in last phase for fire out and spread to avoid black holes, I will get the tether. Many times now I get the fire icon that doesn't go away by the time we all group up for next fire in. I die instantly of course. How do I get ice or lose it? I've tried moving out but it doesn't seem to help. What am I missing?
Really? Just play World of Warcraft then. Not all MMO's are the same, some will be harder than others. There's no "should" or "should not" when it comes to the mechanics of the fights...
Wow. I was wondering if this game had enough challenging content for me. Then I watched a 26:25 long video explaining, in detail, exactly how current content is going to bend me over a barrel and - forcefully - put it's Bahamut-blessed dick in me. I wonder if the Final Fight will be Bahamut Fury?
so vauge on feeding meteors, how many am I aloud to feed a single golem...what colors can I feed to what golem...should I make sure all the meteors are gone before the second set of golems or just make sure all the meteors are gone during the second phase
Yo MrHappy! (Ignore the silly "made-while-I-was-a-kid" name)), I was wondering if you could actually send me a PM with the lore behind Nael and the good Archon's appearance in the Coil? I don't have 7 other players to raid with on Cerberus, so "DIY" isn't an option. I've tried looking up for your lore videos, but they aren't appearing at all, for some curious reason. I'm not fussed about ilvl 110+ gear. My main focus since day one has been the story.
Is the community for this game still pretty strong? I've been thinking of renewing my sub since I had fun with it before and I can pay for it month to month now.
Taylerjames Connolly That's really good to know. I had tons of fun when I first played, and if what you say is true then I have no reason not to get back into it :)
yes, subscriber number just reached 2 million, and 500,000 of those are new ones from within the last 6 months (if you do some googling it'll come up somewhere). I"d say the game is heading good places right now because the dev team is really putting the effort in!
You can use the following site to see how populated the servers are: xivsoul.com/ The US servers are stronger and have about 15-20k players per server. The site uses FC data and scans regularly.
This game focus on small boss fight too much they need to make thing easier by puting in bigger raid boss like 24 man like CT but a coil version or else playing with just 8 player over again is kinda boring
So basically you want bosses that nobody really struggles on and clears within the first day like CT so that way you have six months of twiddling your thumbs with no content?
Janhyua big raids are so boring and impersonal. Do you have 23 close friends you want to spend time with? Do you have those friends in the roles required to fill raids? 25 mans were awkward in WoW and there was always some dead weight tagging along. CT is awful, we don't need more of that.
Ok, so.... What's the point of savage, why make it even harder? For shits and giggles? I normally would look this up, but for some reason i cant seem to get answer on this.
its frustrating when you try to farm this bosses in the coils to get some high end equipment and you just dont have the LUCK to get it.... after a HELL of a battle... seriously... $%&$^&
I am ilvl 210 and I was considering doing this since apparently there's a scenario difference in 3.4 depending on if you've cleared the coil or not. After this, screw it. I couldn't be bothered with all them mechanics!
Today you can just straight up solo it, just kill the golems fast enough and melt Nael down as fast as you can in the Heavensfall stage as soon as targetable
Fight is easy, pay atention and stop being a leech trying to get carried. This video is out dated and you'll find that its way easier to do a couple of learning runs than learn the fight through this vid.
lol casual is actually not that bad of a thing truthfully and im not ashamed to admit it, only an idiot would do things that made him/her uncomfortable so thanks for stating the obvious no life NERD.
Cloud2159 it's not my fault you lack the ability to follow instructions and remember patterns. You'll prolly pick them up once you get a real job and learn how to work in a team either leading or following.
LOL Kid you know nothing about me and make assumptions based on the faults of a video game that asks way too much from a team, elitist scum bag. Plus I never said I couldnt follow instructions but the game asking a whole team to follow something like that when its almost damn near impossible to NOT make 1 mistake is rage inducing and puts too much pressure on players.
Zamadaga x But the fight is against Nael Deus Darnus. Female. I haven't seen the cutscenes but I suspect it is due to in his "human" form Nael Van Darnus represents mankind. "Van" could be Flemmish/Dutch/etc for Nael From Darnus but it could also be Latin for Wing. His helmet features wings of some sort and he uses a gunhalberd which makes him similar to a DRG (being airborn). Deus, in contrast to mankind, is Latin for God/Deity. The name Nael Deus Darnus could therefor mean Nael the God/Deity of Darnus. In Hydaelyn we've been fighting on the side of that big crystal voiced by a woman. To me this means the spiritual being for Hydaelyn is a Goddess. If Nael is reincarnated using the powers of the Goddess it would explain his now feminine appearance.
it's not hard you just need a static group... and maybe thats the problem, not all of the FF players have a static group, I don't, so I have to df and try to get some lucky, I always study the mechanics in every coil and primal ex so I try my best since the first try but sometimes is not enough cause you'll need the whole party effort to beat it. SE need to focus the battle in a system where everyone who doesn't have a static party has the chance to beat the level
glad i stopped playing this... its like the devlopers just sat around in a meeting and went "How can we make the games endgame content even more exclusive to a close knit group of players and completely alienate all other players?" and proceeded to make crap like this...
PriereMK2 I haven't gotten past T9 myself, but I can say that you shouldn't feel alienated bc of the coils. You can actually find some nice parties in df who will run through it with you as a learning party. Plus, Yoshi is consistently nerfing each one in intervals so that more players can experience the end of the Bahamut storyline from 1.0. All games are going to have a group of hypercompetitive ppl who beat endgame content before everyone else. All MMOs have it, same shit different color is all.
*Spoilers* Neil Van Darnus was a man. Neil Deus Darnus is a "reincarnation" of Van Darnus, reincarnated as a woman. I think reasoning for him being brought back as a woman was that it was someone significant in his memory. (or something along those lines) Don't quote me on this as I havent beaten turn 9 yet meself and I could be wrong; I've only seen video of the post t9 cutscenes. Edit: Added spoiler
I have made it to 40% a couple of times. But this is where ppl start dying lol.My problem is I cant find a good group.Even party finder did not help much lol.Oh well I am not giving up till I beat this shit.
hmm thats not enough ...hey ffxiv developers why dont u throw in an untargettable Sephiroth too? keep chasing u the whole fight and 1 shot u if u get caught? better yet make em 8 Sephiroths... 1 chasing each player :D since...u know this isnt hard enough ......... :D just a suggestion

In some sources it has the head of a hippo or elephant. It apparently is pronounced 3 ways, I suppose it depends on the dialect it is used in. (/bəˈhɑːmət/ bə-hah-mət[1] or /bəˈhɑːmuːt/ bə-hah-moot) Bahamut: Ba(rosa, a mission), ha(haha), mut( mat: a as in rosa, a mission). Bahamet or Bahamoot. I really don't care how SE pronounces it, they didn't create Bahamut so I don't know why you are referencing them as the deciding factor.
I really really hate this type of boss design. The mechanics just don't make sense. How are you supposed to figure any of this out? This is just a clusterfuck of mechanics, the difficulty spike from T8 to T9 is insane.
grats on your win MrHappy!
Nice video dude, I wish I had your editing skills :( . Grats on your kill!
i suddenly feel like maybe Atma grinding isnt so bad
been running this on df for 3 weeks and i have to say i love the game even more with the challenges
i'm currently stucked on the last phase.
Propably a tip for tanks: Bahamut's claw in p4 seems to land always after Bahamut's favor and a few auto attacks after Thermionic Beam.
This is absolutely insane!
Can't wait to get to the Binding Coil raids. Gonna be brutal :D
Can i ask you guys something? Sry for my bad english.
he says at 18:14 that ice never hit the same person again but its hits all the time the same person. Can someone tell me why
daam that was a long good fight thx man for the guide (thumbs up )
the coil is getting more and more hardcore every single patch... but it challenging and fun!!
It is not... and i have cleared turns 6, 7 and 8, every fights are so damn boring and long :/

holy this is a lot to keep track of
many newbs have died to bring us this information.
Xai CricketEmpress lmaooooooooooooooooo
Hey when do you do streams for your hous and stuff?
Grat's on turn nine clear nice job ^^
No fight in an mmo should have this many mechanics... What the fuck...
this is what the mmo genre needs, assuming the boss drops the best shit in the game then hell yes, this way not everyone will be able to be uber OP
Really? Just play World of Warcraft then. Not all MMO's are the same, some will be harder than others. There's no "should" or "should not" when it comes to the mechanics of the fights...
problem is that a lot of these mechanics are UNFUN, coil 2 has been shitty for me while coil 1 and extremes were awesome
Jose Guerrero now you know where your skill cap is :-)
Flutter Shy i wouldnt reccomend telling people to play a shitty dying game that hasnt been good since cataclysm
aw i knew you'd fight nael van Darn IT!
scratch tha make it nael van dingus
So is touching the walls gonna be an instant death like Turn 5?
Dat Bard Sprint o.o
Wow.

After seeing the fight it reminds me of the maschosim tango as it looks really painful. But it looks like a fun fight.
Is the community for this game still pretty strong?
I've been thinking of renewing my sub since I had fun with it before and I can pay for it month to month now.
hmm, what I mean is.. are there still a good number of people playing?
***** i play on ragnarok eu and its packed. less then 3 min ques as monk dps for expert roulette. its good.
Taylerjames Connolly That's really good to know.
I had tons of fun when I first played, and if what you say is true then I have no reason not to get back into it :)

Copain not really, what i really want was some thing that is optional stuff to do with the fc in a big raid rather then a small raid
Janhyua big raids are so boring and impersonal. Do you have 23 close friends you want to spend time with? Do you have those friends in the roles required to fill raids? 25 mans were awkward in WoW and there was always some dead weight tagging along. CT is awful, we don't need more of that.
boogiepopdarf what a pure insult you just send it to me, but sadly i am not biting it
Rheagar ct is fun, and i do coil weekly. idk what you're talking about.
Ok, so.... What's the point of savage, why make it even harder? For shits and giggles? I normally would look this up, but for some reason i cant seem to get answer on this.
well....ill beat this by the time t20 is out
Had the blue golem turn red a few times. Other times it turns green.
This guy was in 1.0, wasn't he? Was he easier or harder there?
Different battle completely, I'd say this was more a Bahamut NM fight
Good thing i dont really do Coil .. only did turn 1 to 4 yet
this fight is insane ; ;
Good game = Hard and fun and exclusive like FFXI
Bad game = FFXIV and everything they're trying to do with it.
good comment = a good compliment or criticism of a game
bad comment = a failed troll like this that u had to re-edit ur idiocy

casual

This was probably my favorite fight of the game. I did clear 13 as well (before heavensward), but clearing this one was amazing.
Now I can find out how that last 40% works. :P
#Kappa
good lord thats a lot of self shills at the end
Dharnus (?) is a woman. That was the big reveal
*Spoilers*
Neil Van Darnus was a man.
Neil Deus Darnus is a "reincarnation" of Van Darnus, reincarnated as a woman. I think reasoning for him being brought back as a woman was that it was someone significant in his memory. (or something along those lines)
Don't quote me on this as I havent beaten turn 9 yet meself and I could be wrong; I've only seen video of the post t9 cutscenes.
Edit: Added spoiler
*Spoiler*
And when you see the post-kill cutscene, you also find out Darnus is still a man.
Bahamut grants sex change?
Reginald Ditto Phantasia phials come from bahamut. confirmed.
My mind just went all over the wall
WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MEGAFLARE BITCHES!!!
I have made it to 40% a couple of times. But this is where ppl start dying lol.My problem is I cant find a good group.Even party finder did not help much lol.Oh well I am not giving up till I beat this shit.
I also suggest a melee to lb before the third heavens fall
I gave up...
scary...
Google translate says his name is Welsh.
hmm thats not enough ...hey ffxiv developers why dont u throw in an untargettable Sephiroth too? keep chasing u the whole fight and 1 shot u if u get caught? better yet make em 8 Sephiroths... 1 chasing each player :D since...u know this isnt hard enough ......... :D just a suggestion
Good lord thats complicated fuck this shit lol
"He" "His". I'm so confused I thought this character was actually a girl.
It is a girl
I'll never be able to do this. I think this is just too much
Well...this will be annoying on ps3
Phase 4 sounds impossible.
Nael is a she now!
watch leviathan extrem mode The Whorleater (Extreme)
Monk view!!!!!!
WhoreleaterEX is a joke lol
it is now ^^
Did they change the fight or something? Haven't done it in months
nah it's just like in the video. easy and fun.
It's Diablos, not Dia-bolos. Yes it may be spelled Diabolos, but it's still pronounced Diablos. This isn't game of thrones where there are a million and 1 different ways to say a name.
dictionary.reference.com/browse/diabolo Just sayin'.

Mrhappy guides with his "Over detailed" explanation always make it sounds harder than the actual fight ..... urghhhh!
I actually enjoy the little details he places. As a healer these types of things are really helpful, well for me anyways.
Blue Gartr's video is way better...
Good to know negative nancy, go check them out and leave us alone. We don´t need your sort here.
I'd rather play flappybird than this shit.
Thank you for your input

What's with Asians and their obsession to make games hard? Not all of us live, breathe and eat games... this is way too complex and stressful.
***** That sarcasm is real.
***** your comment makes me mad at dem asian obsession.. but you're right. Fuck it.
A. Mark I read that as Ascians, which also works.
Sorry it really annoyed me: It's Ba-Ha-MOOT; emphasis on "moot." Not Ba-HAWM-It; emphasis on "hawm."
Its not pronounced as Ba-Ha-Moot in FFXIV:ARR, as officially stated by the community team and based on the in-game pronunciation of it.
Mrhappy1227 is this after the binding coil of bahamut
You're all wrong. Its Bahamut like Bat and Hat and Mut(as in that dog is a mut). Bahamut.
Mike M Incorrect according to the official announcement given by the development team over the year

This fight is bs and this guide isn't helping at all
I really really hate this type of boss design. The mechanics just don't make sense. How are you supposed to figure any of this out? All you can do is squint at virtual fireworks while dying dozens and dozens of times to the same bs mechanics, trying to figure you what is even happening. god this game is so freaking cluttered visually, i hate it.
i already hated to do titan because of those stupid ground stuff
