What a symphony of contradiction, some of this northerners have become so well adjusted to the lies they tell themselves. it's high time they wake up and deal with the reality they've created and deal with it with the seriousness it deserves. They've constantly and consistently blamed others for their failures. They are the ones that has stifled growth and development of Nigeria. They have been controlling all levels of power since independence, yet they haven't been able to create an environment that enhances developments, such as compulsory education for their people as to enable them to become competent and ready to compete at all levels. What has the northern government done with the federal government allocation, have they invested in health, education and social infrastructure to better their people, no. Instead they expect other parts of the so called federating unit to slow down and wait for them to catch up, which in my opinion is stupid and unrealistic. This pseudo professor describes to a belief system that suggests borrowing or taking loans without interest to run a private business or businesses that's out to make profit is a good thing, because of his religious beliefs. He should go find out from Dangote and others how they borrowed money to finance maga projects that has created thousands of jobs opportunities for people and subsequently speeding up the so desperately desired developments. .

@@philipchira8741 Human capital development is key to national development. There should be the empowering of the local government tier as the catalyst of national development which the Tinubu government is trying to do. Each geopolitical area should develop according to its own talent. There should be devolution down to the constituents parts to enable proper development. There is nothing like Northern Nigeria. It is an artificial entity created by the British as a convenient tool for the exploitation of the area. We should be smart enough to devolve power down within that area to its constituent units. This man is naive and disappointing in his analysis. He talked too much about resources without understanding the human element in development. I don't have time to rip to shreds, line by line, the content of his speech. Let Nigeria be ruled by south and middle belt for 16 years if allowed Nigeria will be. But given power back to the north by Hausas or Fulanis backwards ever.

Hausas / Middle belts have not been given opportunity to lead this country ,it has always been the Fulani . This should change and it's only Nigerians that can make up their minds that things must change . Every Nigerian should have the opportunity to rule Nigeria. Some tribes have cornered our political sector .

He's just spewing figures blatantly with zero reference. In other words, he's likely lying intentionally because he knows his listeners are mostly gullible and will never fact-check him. Remember, Northern Nigeria DOESN'T INCLUDE the middle-belt of Nigeria. So how sustainable is the Northern Nigeria really?

I'm from South West of Nigeria! I must confess that his speech is loaded with facts. But area of religious fanaticism isn't addressed and that is the major problem from the North. I was born and had my elementary education in Kano over six decades ago; we lived in a very peaceful atmosphere. Agriculture, industrial evolution very okay then with good leadership but these days are rubbish.

Can someone shed more light on this notion that he claimed, "if northern Nigeria must develop it must have a seaport" is having a seaport the benchmark for development or not?
He is also contradicting himself by suggesting that people must start thinking globalization yet he is asking for Interest free loans from commercial bankers, that is not global thinking mindset.
the northern forum if they are serious should focus on one simple task
stop the ALMAJIRI system across the region, earmark on radical and progressive education system and ensure the security of the people

He has made tremendous points and has sounded out Emir Sanusi's, Peter Obi's, and Atiku's ideas. This means that his points will only be appreciated and accepted by the ordinary Northerners, definitely not the northern politicians and most of their fanatical religious leaders. The northern politicians and some of such religious leaders may even try to silence him.

I disagree with you on some the points but I agree on most of the plans.
1...There's no way Nigeria can create a special Bank of Industry for Northern Nigeria only that will not charge interest. If such a bank exists in the north, it would be out of business in no time.
2...North can only survive when it establishes a regional policy but being pushed or propagated by individual states.
We are not a communist country. Even China has dropped the idea a long time ago. That's why they are where they are today.
So forget about the collective bargaining. Even families have siblings who grow at their individual pace. There must be competition amongst the regions and states.

Professor, please and be part of raising the awareness of folks in the North that they should hold their Governors accountable.
*What have they been doing with their respective budget allocations over the years?!
    * This question is relevant to all other States in Nigeria.
*Honestly our people tend to forget that Nigeria is operating a Presidential system of Government where Governors and Mayors are Executives with extensive financial sovereignty!
*Let's all call out Governors and Local Government Chairmen to return to serving their local communities.
    * Governors must stop being State Capital politicians and Executive Thieves!
    Thank you.

Comment is factual and on point. The Governors, esp. in the North, do not care about their constituents, they’ve ALWAYS LIVED LARGE. SAD.
The present government is trying to wean these Governors off years of bad habits and corruption. Thank God that many are waking up to reality.

Young Nigerians should embrace the opportunity to bring about productive change they are doing so all over the world and should be encouraged to same from within. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one purposeful step. It can be done!

Which North are you referring to? Please leave other tribes that are there alone because they have now realized that the so called Northern giant are the few Fulanis. You may have a larger landscape yet, your population has not overwhelmed the South. The census in this country is fake. Soon, that will be sorted out. Only in this geographic region called Nigeria do the desert people have more people than those in the riverine area. We're not interested in this usual analysis. I beg, tell us what we don't know.
