I am an ardent listener of Prof's perspective regarding various issues... but on this particular subject matter, he is off the mark. Diplomacy is woven around enlightened self interest nothing else, France needs more economic partners and Nigeria is in need of more real investments, if these goals are achieved in the near to medium term, i believe the country ( Northern Nigeria inclusive) will be the better.
In as much as i agree that the role of France in Africa in general has not been particularly impressive, the chances of them replicating same in Nigeria is extremely remote.
However, there are some salient issues he raised regarding trust deficiency of the citizenry towards the govt and the clear ineptitude of the govt. under the present dispensation in communicating with the people.

I totally agree with the Professor.France should have been kicked out of all African countries except Cameroun. If France had not been kicked out of some African countries, Macron would not have paid attention to Nigeria's problems.France is afraid of becoming worse than the poorest third world country. African countries should discard presidential form of government and embrace advance parliamentary form of government. For one person to represent countries with over hundred million citizens.

I told you people on Instagram and TikTok that Tinubu did not go to France for loans and a lot of people abused me, I said that he went there to sell Nigerian sovereignty to France as Francophone countries are chasing them out of their countries and they need another country to continue their business as usual. Who throw party for a borro borro person? Can you do so? Now I have been vindicated after he signed MOU with France to allow France to have right over our mineral resources and other important things such military bases in Nigeria. Tinubu has sold Nigeria to France period

I love this man. He has the best analysis. Tinubu went to France, he was given a big red carpet welcome, they address him in pidgin English and played him Nigerian songs. For someone that says he studied in the United States. How can Tinubu not know that's, he's being played by France? Tinubu never took history in high school and the colonization of Africa and slavery? How the white man came to Africa, gave some kings whiskey. And how did they sell their people into slavery? Ignorance is cured, but stupidity is eternal and infinite - Albert. Sadly, Tinubu ain't made that connection yet. What a numpty.

The Russian Backed Syrian Republic has officially collapsed today as Rebel forces are rapidly advancing towards the capitol unopposed and Assad's brother conducts a coup to have him overthrown. SSG forces have advanced 50 miles in the past 24 hours and have taken the major city of Hama without a shot being fired. Russian and Syrian forces retreated from the town before the rebels even arrived. The situation is so sever the commander of Russian forces in Syria has been removed from his position, and Russia is in the process of evacuating remaining government officials loyal to Assad

He did not have the US, UK, or France backing. However, the northerners have Obama on their side. If you recall, Obama sent his secretary of state (Kerry) to meet with the Sultan of Sokoto and northern governors without meeting the GEJ and invited him to the White House. Whether the political elites in the north liked it or not, they must and would listen this time.

Tinubu should have lost his position for his rash decision for nearly plunging the country into war against a friendly sister African country, but Nigerians decided to keep him...
The presenters are deliberately ignoring the harm France has done to neighbouring African countries. Nigeria will not be any exception in the eyes of the French. These people are responsible for the "sleepiness" of the Nigerian public.

Babangida once said, "No permanent friends and no permanent enemies". Please, don't choose your enemies, just be wise and smart enough to make your next move. In the international stage, smart leaders take advantage of broken relationships between nations. Nigeria can take advantage of the situation with France, now that France is on damage control and saving its battered image. Nigeria can pull off a good deal if we have smart negotiators.

Total did not leave Nigeria why are these so call educated people so ignorant of what is going on in Nigeria, what Total did was sell their onshore oil well, majority of their production is offshore Nigeria and they have one of the biggest offshore well in Nigeria. They sell assets they could not operate due to crude oil theft and vandalism on their onshore asset. They are still investing in their offshore assets as it is one of the biggest and most profitable assets in their portfolio. It is not only total that sell their onshore assets, Exxon Mobil, shell, Chevron all did the same thing, they sold their onshore assets to Nigerian companies which is even better for our local oil and gas industry. When they make money on their oil they take the profit to their country but when a Nigerian companies operate and make profit on their oil well the profits stays in Nigeria.

I dont like france but for the fact that the north doesn't want them in Nigeria i wish a state in the south will allow them come and establish the military base in the southern part. Nigeria is not owned by the north and we cant be colonize by the north. Secondly as an igbo man i will support france based on their role during the Biafran war that help in feeding some of the our children. Imagine this man who has being campaigning for bandits and he visited the bandits with sheikh Gumi and he is afraid that france will finish them soon. Wrong guest. Prof Usman Yusuf is a medical doctor and not competent to speak on foreign affairs asides expressing personal opinion which doesn't have empirical evidence and potentially could be misleading. Our media house should learn from other international reputable media house on the template for inviting guest to speak on any matter. One thing you will observe is that they only invite people with professional and academic requisite and you will see it through constant flashing of their short resume on the screen. How does Prof. Usman fit into this if not for mischievous and cynical motive? His view definitely can't be objective.
