    Hi everyone, I’m hoping you all enjoyed the video and like I mentioned in the video the ginger and turmeric will continue growing in larger containers. They will go into these containers soon since I filmed this whole process about 1 and a half months ago.

    I use the covered containers from rotisserie chicken with one or two ginger roots in each. You can fit four on a heat mat. They don't need to be repotted and the ginger roots like to have room to spread out.

      I have to do this since I’m in a colder climate, now if I lived in southern states they’d stay in the foil pans

    Hello - great video! Can you please explain how you sterilize the soil with boiling water? Do you pour it through the soil and strain? Thank you.

    • @LifeWithQueenii

      Usually excess water drains trough the holes from my containers. So it also works to help moisten your soil

    When pouring Boiling water on the soil for starting ginger, how do you take out excess water if any, please elaborate? Thanks.

    • @LifeWithQueenii
      @LifeWithQueenii  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I only pour enough to moisten. Shouldn’t be like pudding and the excess drains through the drainage holes in the containers I use

      @@LifeWithQueenii thanks for your prompt response. My questions was specifically when starting the process, having a dome lid like a green house effect you put them all in one container with no holes (both ginger and turmeric), as you mentioned in your video. So, the boiling water kills any gnats or eggs in soil. Sorry, I just want to start the right way with no flies around. I am in north Canada, n v can only grow them inside except peak summer that’s only 2-3 months which is not enough to grow the rhizomes. Thanks.

      @@VN1409 definitely understand, just add enough to fully moisten the soil, no you don’t need drainage whole when you’re simply sprouting them. Only add water once the soil start getting dry
