The updated version of this video would have to be things like “Mario Paint without a mouse”, tv show/board game adaptations and “sports games from off years” etc.
I live in a small European Country and i have a SNES Collection like 45-50 games and when I was a Kid a bought games like Secret of Mana, Actraiser, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Adventures of Batman and Robin, Castlevania IV, Super Ghouls n Ghosts, Plok, The Lion King and many others for like 6$
I love Plok, definitely one of the best platformers on the SNES. I never beat it though, because it's so fricking long and has no passwords or saves. I did beat all the Super Star Wars games, the first two even on Jedi difficulty. Could not pull that off again though.
Never knew Plok was decently cheap! loved the music (by Tim Follin), and I played the game on an emulator a couple months ago and enjoyed it well enough.
I'll definitely have to check out some of these games if I ever find them at my local game store! I'm trying to get more into SNES collecting, and I don't think I have most of these games, so I'll use the fact that they're cheap to my advantage! Nice video, dude! I have a feeling I'll like this channel! =)
I got most of these, I really love Griffey baseball. I think Cybernator is around 10 that game is really good, and I got ActRaiser for $7 but that may have been a fluke.
This clip was posted on my birthday and plok is one of my most favorite video games for the super nintendo. I also liked x-men mutant apocalypse and the street fighter 2 games.
I did a couple vids like this called "Ten Great Games That Wont Break The Bank" for SNES and Genesis... gonna do one for PS and GB next. I like these kind of vids and you got me to add two game to my want list: True Lies and Super Earth Defense Force. Another great RPG that isn't too expensive is 7th Saga. Love that game... not the greatest but pretty damn fun.
"TurnNBurn: No Fly Zone" & "Lock On" are about three dollars apiece and they're pretty good if you like Ace Combat-like games. "No Fly Zone" has a decent password system, but "Lock On" just gives you three lives and three continues.
Mystic Quest was pretty much as you described, though it had some really awesome music tracks. I personally loved Breath of Fire, and seeing it always beings back a sense of nostalgia from the days when I first played it back in the day. I've played a few others you have in this list, but those two, I really was into being a big rpg fan. I used to play a lot of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition games, on the nes and snes, and really enjoyed them, but going back to them these days, I just can't seem to play them as well anymore. Anyways, a pretty solid list. :)
You're my favorite channel to watch for retro games. Your presentation and even your voice make watching the videos a pleasure. Just maybe never use "shockingly decent" again lol. Keep up the good work!
With the exception of the TMNT games, most licensed SNES games are pretty cheap. Batman Returns and Animaniacs are both good licensed games by Konami. Most of the Capcom Disney games are under $20 and are all at least decent.
Shame prices have been climbing so much on SNES titles, first game I bought for my SNES collection was Illusion of Gaia at around $8. Sits around $20-$25 now. Some solid recommendations regardless though and a few ill have to keep my eye out for. Nice job as always!
Came here in November 2022 to laugh at how inaccurate this list must be after so many years and was pleasantly surprised! A handful of these games have gone up a lot, $30+ increases. However, a majority of the list still work if you raise the price ceiling to $15 instead of $10.
loved tiny toons as a kid. didn't much care for the show but jeez that game has variety out the wazoo. all pretty well done. played that a lot more than I thought I would. I'd also nominate super battleship and sim ant. super battleship is always 10 or less and a fun take on the classic board game. sim ant seems to have exploded in price online but I see it much lower locally. one of my favorite games of the era
Just curious, where you don't keep up to date on gaming and stick to older games, do you have any idea what kind of a horrible company Konami is these days? Especially this year with the Kojima bullshit? I could see you stumbling upon it anyway from twitter or facebook friends but there has been some stuff in the past I thought everybody knew that I was wrong on. I just find it interesting to see a modern youtube provider that has a gaming channel, yet knows so little about gaming after the 16bit era. The closest thing to you is James Rolfe but even he plays PS4 games even if it's not that often and he's somehow never heard of PS+.
+ArtifiShuL Instinct The biggest problem I have with keeping to date on gaming is the news reporting and journalism is so, SO embarrassingly bad. Nobody has any credibility and everyone is in bed with each other. It's pathetic. But yeah I know all about Konami, and I also don't really care. I just like what I like I guess.
Cool good to know thanks! Of course I wouldn't expect anyone who doesn't play/appreciate the MGS games to care about the abuse to the employees on the project and whatnot. Was more of a question of how closed off you are from modern gaming lol
This video should definitely be redone. Sadly everything has gone up by 5 to 10 dollars and some games even more. I think True Lies is around $40 now. Super Nintendo collecting has gotten pretty ridiculous.

I've been trying to tell people that True Lies is a good game since the 90s.
Other Arnold-starring games, and movie tie-in games in general, taint it's reputation a bit, I assume.
Dude I love still having the cartridges and makes me feel like I'm still in the 90s

Plok is one of the best games I've ever played. It's very difficult but rewarding.

Just found your channel, and may I say - your videos are awesome. Thank you, and keep it up!

Tiny toon adventures is a good game. Nice callout

Agreed, I eventually did a video on Turn and Burn: th-cam.com/video/-5HI1EUnxVU/w-d-xo.html
SNES drunk Hehe, I know, man, I love that video!
Do SNES reproduction cartridges work on a Retron 2?

I loved Mystic Quest as a kid. One of my top 10 games
Plok is a very hard game
Great list. Some definite classics in here.
I saw Crono Trigger in a store for $11. WTF? That game is freaking awesome!
which store??
Flea market?
if you want a cheap alternative to super mario kart, just buy the Super Famicom version, as it is only $15(CDN) on eBay.
Came here in November 2022 to laugh at how inaccurate this list must be after so many years and was pleasantly surprised!

Or you could get Mario kart for the super famicom?
Most JP game companies mixes cartoon with battles together. I love Tiny Toons series.

Strangely ALL Tiny Toon games are awesome somehow.
That's cool!! 24K views and not one dislike.
Ah yes I like equinox. Reminds me of head over heels on the c64. I used to absolutely love that game
Plok is one of my favorite SNES games! Awesome soundtrack :) The only thing that stinks is there is no save function :/
He suggests Plok, but doesn't mention it has insanely good music?
Breath of Fire have a great soundtrack
Great vid, ill check out lagoon!
So sad that ebay has so high priced shipping to my country :(
In this video, it took SNES drunk exactly 4 minutes and 2 seconds until the mention of "Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball"
Plok is a stylized executioner.
Dangit i wish i had live back then and i cant all the games for free thanks to emulators but its not the same :/
Brain Lord and Arcana are about 10 to 15 atleast I found mind for about that much
So true about the Super Star Wars being true to the source material.
I cri ebry tim Darth Vader reveals he was actually a shark the whole time.
looking back at this and most of the games have gone up in price. sadness
2022 now and while many have gone up most are still under $15! Higher, sure, but not a huge increase!
Can you look at King Kong Video Games???????????
Go try and find these now none of them are even close to $10
Why no Wanderers of Ys? That one is waaaayyy better than Lagoon
Ken Davis how much does it typically go for?? this list is specific to cheap games under 10 bucks
Lol there's NO SUCH THING AS SNES GAMES FOR UNDER $10 IN 2023
great video
Thanks for watching Mark
+SNES drunk I've been watching your videos like crazy lately. I am collecting for the snes, one of the greatest consoles of all time.
The down votes are from people who spent more than $10 on Lagoon.
Wow and now true lies is running for roughly $40 ouch!!
53$ now and this comments 6 months old
Well shit phantom shot up in price lmao.
I LOVED Krusty's Super Funhouse as a kid. It was so unique for a platformer
Populous is STILL cheap. It rules
why not use emulators tho?!
I’ve had 3 copies of final fight, and each of them have been shattered to pieces because of the bullshit AI.
Phantom 2040? Hahaha. To think that that comic got a futuristic version and game is laughable to me. Game seems good though.
Great stuffs... (y)

JJGames.com for pricing your games!
lolno
Oh god, this is a 10 year old video, no help at all now lol
