I found myself getting emotional for you several times. So happy you were able to do something and meet someone who means so much to you. I appreciate your vulnerability. There are very few (almost no) pictures of me and through you sharing it really touched a nerve. You know I’ve followed you for a long time and I really see a difference. A growth. A becoming. my grandmother kept writings of our family history -- she did "grandmas treasures" and did people and objects that were important to her.... she described in great detail each one, and now that she has passed, it is one of our favorite things that she left for us. 💛🌸

Jen, I think that many people look up to you ; but you haven't realized it yet :). I think that a binder on you,where you came from, how you felt, everything about inside Jen, would be so cherished by your children when they have grown. Both of my parents have passed but had they been able to do any snippet of what could be included in a binder, would warm my soul. Enjoy the rest of your trip ,thank you for the vlogs:).

Thank you for your kindness, friend. I think some people fear sharing their own stories is selfish...or at the very least fear judgement from others for being "shallow" - but I agree with you. I wish I knew more about my parents' lives and they're still here! Stories are what connect us and help us to feel not so alone in a sometimes overwhelmingly isolating world.
I read a comment,where a mom said, some stranger would think her children were raised by their father and their cat, because she wasn't in a single photo. In two years worth of photos, she wasn't in any of them. It happens to many mothers. I'm glad you've decided to include yourself in the family photos!

I understand your emotional reaction. I feel like I’m perched at the top of a roller coaster just thinking about sharing my story. It feels raw and real and scary. That you for sharing so candidly.

I loved this vlog. I feel the same way you do about forcing yourself out of your comfort zone speaking out. I do it each day as I work in a job that is a gatekeeper-greeter-first face person at a school, and really--I am the right person for the job for the students, teachers, parents, but I am such an introvert I have to push myself every day I go to work. I feel proud that I have risen to this occasion every single day for many years now. I make money for my family and just keep going.

I was so grateful to you for being so gracious when I met you in Epcot Feb.2017. I definitely had a “fan girl” moment when talking to you, lol! You are my fav :) and that was such a fun moment for me!! Glad you had the opportunity to experience that with Ali.
Fun fact: I was at Disney that visit for the Princess half which YOU inspired me to do. It was the best 40th bday I could have ever imagined. Also, lol, I was on my way into Le Cellier for my bday dinner upon your recommendation. Yum, I loved it!!

So glad you had a great time on your mini vacation for your scrap booking projects workshop. It makes me look forward to being able to do something similar to this myself in the future when I get the chance. And I know you miss your babies, but this was a good recharge for you and i know they were happy when you got home. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
I love Ali so much! Both you and her inspire me daily. I’ve watched you since the beginning and I’ve loved to see you enjoying your “me time” on this trip, you deserve it! I’ve always looked up to you since I found your channel all those years ago and seeing you take care of yourself as well as do all the things is super inspiring!

What helped me take pics of me, as my children become adults & venture out. They are gonna wonder, "why is momma always behind the camera, I wanna see her, not necessarily me." So I'm actually thinking of them yrs down the line:)

I think as a wife &/or mom we forget about ourselves but we are more than that... we are worthy, we have dreams, etc....and I found great that Ali's Story Camp inspire you. Glad you also push you to do things you are afraid of. Also sometimes its great to cry as much you want, as many you need..... Its therapeutic. I really love that you share your brain with us, you will be surprise how many "brain twins" you have lol Btw Jen, how you dare having 3 glasses of wine in one day? 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 (of course Im kidding!!!) Yes to memory keeping & journaling! Honestly, I am so, so grateful I picked this up again when my first was born. Even though I am behind in my projects, I have all of my daily journal notes to go back to. So, even if I never get to the projects (hopefully I will!) I know I'll have the words and the photos. And those are everything ❤️

Jen, this trip has been so enjoyable to watch, it feels so different from anything you've ever shared before, in a good way, and still in a way that seems so you. It's just so beautiful to see you grow and change and actively gain confidence in these little moments. I especially loved the photo walk part! Love how you chose to share that with the video and pics! You are so inspiring. I am the same way about never wanting to be in photos, but I will also make more of an effort to be in pictures! Thanks for filming and sharing so much!

I loved how you walked about and took different snapshots of the beautiful things around you and also yourself (and you are beautiful too). The whole Pacific Northwest is VERY vegan friendly, in Portland you can find sooo many things vegan. Hope you are enjoying your time! Miss Oregon and Washington a lot, it’s beautiful there!!!
Hey Jen--I know I'm a few months late to the party but I'm catching back up on your videos. I'm so happy for you that you were able to live a dream and honor these parts of yourself :) As a side note--my mom passed when I was 13 and my favorite thing is finding new pictures of her that I didn't know existed. It's like getting to know another little piece of her. I'm sure your kids will really appreciate all of your memory-keeping, especially when it involves you. Sending love.
Thanks for sharing your story and emotions. Meeting you this year at GO Wild was an emotional culmination of so many feelings that I got a bit teary (atypical for me), so I can understand that happening. You were that for me :) So glad you were able to attend Ali's Story Camp and realize a dream!

So enjoying your vlogging. Beautiful scenery! I’m not a vegan but the food looks so good. It’s wonderful that there’s vegan restaurants in town. I’m glad you took a picture of yourself. I think it’s very important for you to take many pictures of yourself. Someday your children will be looking back at the photos. They will want more pictures of their Mother. It’s nice to see yourself grow up in photos. I know I wanted more pictures of my parents. Don’t forget to include yourself in pictures & lots of selfies. I think just going away by yourself is so brave. You should be proud of yourself. Lucy

Jen, this was such an interesting and different vlog from you. I love Oregon and always feel the magic when I visit, thank you for sharing! So I have to say this made me feel a little sad for you when you talked about being able to share your story. I have watched your videos from the start and have always felt you were sharing your story! You have years worth of vlogs for your children to see. That in itself is a gift. Who among us has as many days documented as you do? Such a treasure! So now having said that, I wonder what you have been holding back. Obviously, it’s important to keep much of your life private, I just wonder if in doing so, it’s contributed to this feeling of not feeling worthy of sharing. Sometimes, lately it seems like you’re really holding back, like you’re worried about offending the vegan police or the army of organizers or whatever. Just be you! That’s why people watch. Keep sharing your story girl.

I did a couple of classes with Ali Edwards years ago, when she came to the UK. Good times. And, with regard to Fangirling... I used to run scrapbooking retreats and booked/arranged the teachers... but still got a bit “fangirly” over Dina Wakley when she first came to the UK! 😊

Jen, I really enjoyed this. I plan to go to Story Camp. What I loved is you sharing your feelings and what it means to you. I love Ali’s approach to story telling and her encouragement and support. I appreciate you respecting the camp and giving us enough snippets to get the feel but keeping the magic for those that attend. Are you taking Ali’s new course, “Wellness Story”? I am very intrigued by it. I am also getting ready for DD now. Ali is like a guru. Love her. You are also such a positive influence. Make an album of yourself. We have been watching your story unfold for years x an album done by you for you and your family sounds like a perfect gift.

I'm a vegetarian and I've found that Oregon is SUPER accepting of vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. There are tons of options. If you ever come back try out Momiji for delicious sushi. The one in Salem has a drive thru :)

I only just started reincorporating a little salmon and shrimp into my diet in the past 2 months
