  • This video is for my wig sister Lisa- she and I were chatting over Facebook Messenger the other day about a wig she bought that she doesn't think she can wear because it is too wild. She sent me pictures and she isn't lying, lol.... BUT... when that happens to me (and it definitely has) I have found a solution. HEADBANDS! This tutorial is meant to show how I tame a too wild and curly wig with headbands.
    Here is a link to headbands that I love and own a ton of: amzn.to/2IMSF4a

    Its almost impossible to find tips on how to wear headbands w/wigs or the best types of hats + caps to wear with wigs because all that comes up is headband/hat wigs as in partial wigs attached to them 😂😭😭😭 so because i watched your vid thru google i made sure i came here to the YT app specifically just to give you a like☺️ thanks for the advice!

    Great ideas Denise! You always lead with your heart - I love that. :) I don't buy curly, poofy wigs, but if I ever do, now I know how to tame them. I wear straight styles that are low-density and mimic the volume of the thin, fine hair I had all my life prior to hair loss. I admire my wig sisters who wear the curly, poofy versions (brave souls you are).

      @@lexseec6124 Hi! Good to find somebody else dealing with the same thing as me! I have purchased Ellen Wille wigs, and so far those have worked out best for me: My favorite is Skye in Light Honey Rooted -- I get SO MANY complements on that hair!!!!! I also have EW's Start in Caramel Rooted and Pastel Blonde Rooted, and Smart Mono (Large cap) in Sandy Blonde Rooted. Still Skye is MY HAIR TWIN!!! I just purchased two non-Ellen Wille wigs (one is Belle Tress the other is Hairdo), so we'll see how that goes. Pixie styles have worked best for me, although I had a bob in real life. Trying to broaden my horizons in terms of hair -- it's so fun to play with different styles and colors and I'm finding that is my way of accepting that I now must have hair help. Hope this helps!!!!

      @@heywigsister You are so welcome! I have to admit that EW's Skye (my fav) has one problem: the cap size. I'm a 22 1/4 and it runs small...took me awhile to stretch it out. I just received my Hairdo Angled Cut (love it) and my Belle Tress Spice Girl (also love it, but may alter it to include bangs). Both come in a color that is perfect for me, are heat friendly so they don't shine (being a blonde in the wig world isn't fun), and look great and give me alternate styles. Have a great weekend.

    Since you don't have help from another person wouldn't it help to style her first on a mannequin,put her on then apply the headband?

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  ปีที่แล้ว

      Styling on a mannequin is definitely an option for some styles... but it would not work well with a cloth headband like this because once you remove it from the head you will lose the tension the headband needs to stay in place.

    I have managed to get headbands on ok but I always get tension headaches.

    • @heywigsister

      I have found that with some headbands, although these really stretchy ones do not bother me, luckily.

  • @Michelle-qd9gm

    Is wig grips better than the hair mesh you put on before your wig

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely think so. I don't like the hair nets or caps at all. I think they might work for someone with a lot of bio hair to contain, but for someone with significant hairloss or very fine hair they may be an unnecessary layer. I also find wig grips to be unnecessary for me except with headband wigs.

    Are you afraid of ruining the curls? I want to do bandannas but I wouldn’t want to ruin the curls later

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well... I usually only wear headbands with wigs I can't wear any other way, so in that case no. If I love the wig and the curls as is I usually don't feel the need to wear a headband. That is why it is good to have a few not perfect wigs, because it gives styling flexibility without worrying about ruining the wig.

  • @dollcina

    Why not use a headband that doesn’t go all the way around? Like the square headbands? I use them all the time!
