4th Doctor And Sarah Being Best Friends Part 2

- A compilation of clips showing how they worked together, as well as some other parts. This is part 2 of the compilation.
An Important reminder that the content used in this video is owned by the BBC and I do not claim the content as my own but the clips used are from what I have bought from what is sold as a BBC product.
I was lucky to meet Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) and Harry (Ian Marters) at the first Doctor Who convention in Los Angeles. I even got a kiss from Elisabeth! I was taking pictures and asked if they wanted copies and they gave me a handwritten slip of paper with the contact info for their agencies in the UK.
I think it was at the following convention that I met my favorite Doctor (Tom Baker). (Matt Smith is my very close 2nd favorite) I got to talk to Tom and some others who worked behind the scenes of the show, like ... (drum roll) ... Terry Nation.
Tho I didn't attend, i got a couple of b/w photos from that con of Lis and Ian that I still treasure. I don't remember how I got them or who was selling them. I later got Ian to sign one but (very) sadly, never met Lis.
I wonder if they could be your pictures? That would be a trip.
Anyway - you lucky dog! 😄
Such a shame they both died so young, Ian especially, only 42...
Sylvester McCoy is the only Doctor I ever met. He's such a nice guy! I was literally the last in line for his autograph (with my brother) I suddenly realized someone stepped up in line in back of us. It was Mr. McCoy! He promised he would stay until he signed my photo!
I was in total awe! The Doctor came up just to talk to me!
I was around 9 at the time. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I think this was the best companion/doctor combo and I LOVED it
@@horrorfanandy4647 While the 4th Doctor Tom still alive.
Man wished he would have visited them one last time.
I loved that bit where she doesn't let him diss his last incarnation.
Chameleon circuit actually hiding the Tardis perfectly in the forest.
Doctor: Must have gone on the blink again.
It wasn't the Chamelion Circuit, it went Invisible again, Like in the Invasion.
I think the Doctor was happier when he was travelling with just him and Sarah than he ever was in any other part of the history of the character.
I would argue that Rose kept him smiling constantly, but Sarah is such a doll ❤
ive seen before that when lis sladen left the show, tom baker was notably a lot grumpier on set and its reflected in how the 4th doctor became much gloomier after sarah left. they were very close both in and out of character.
in the school episode, the 3 of the second season (current series) the doctor tells Rose that it is very difficult to see someone you love die, that's why he leaves Sarah, because he loved her so much and when he realized that he could see- I couldn't stand it to die...
I did miss Harry no longer travelling with the Dr and Sarah but the producer wanted the 4th dr and sarah travelling with another companion like in the 3rd drs era
@@Eltonlaleham IIRC, the issue was that originally they expected the 4th Doctor to be played by an elderly actor, so they would need Harry Sullivan to do the punching and fighting and jumping. Then when they cast Baker, he was young enough to do that stuff himself, so Sullivan became a third wheel.
It remains a stroke of genius that Tom Baker came up with "I said mind the bramble".
No one could scream in pain quite like Tom Baker.
True, and no one could show pure terror like Lis Sladen.
We're in Scotland.
'How do you know?'
Because I'm dressed for it.
God tier writing.
4: watch the brambles
sarah: **doesn’t watch the brambles**
4: i told you to watch the brambles!
tom baker yeeting himself out a window is so iconic
I've always had a great fondness of the Fourth Doctor and Sarah's friendship. It appears as if Tom and Elisabeth really enjoyed their company whilst working on each serial. Roll on Part 3!
I just love their chemistry together. Outstanding
Pyramids of Mars has to be my favorite 4th Doctor story arch.
Then you must be excited for the episode that aired this week. Did. Not. See. That. Coming. It was the voice of the big baddie of the older series that sent shivers up and down my spine.
"I feel disorientated"
"This is the disorientation center"
"That makes sense"
One of the greatest exchanges in Doctor Who history!
When does that happen?

I can't believe that you didn't include the part in Pyramids of Mars where the Doctor and Sarah walk in and immediately turn around when they see the mummy.
4:23 I love that dress, and I love when Sarah puts the scarf on her head and gives him a silly look while the Doctor is musing on eternity! Oh, and I forgot about 4:56 when Sarah almost blows them up, and then says "Sorry"
😁
The scarf on her head was an ad lib by Liz Sladen.
@@ajazhussain4064 Sarah Jane Smith is still my favorite companion! I was truly saddened when Elizabeth Sladen passed away.
@@cindydott452 When I was 6years old I was going to marry her 😢
@@ajazhussain4064 When I was six, I wanted to *BE* her!
4:00 When Sarah smiles, it lights up the room...
I miss when Doctor Who was almost like 90% a comedy show with a companion who gives off major BFF vibes. Too many times newer doctor who becomes a drama or something. This is what I miss.
I think it makes sense though. The Time War changed everything, just listen to 8th Doctor Big Finish stories before TW started and after. It looks like with Ncuti Gatwa we're getting a mix of Classic and NuWho, full of funny shenanigans but with character arcs for the companion (which I feel like is a natural evolution, after all, Classic Who at the end of its lifetime started to already dab its toes into that, just look at Ace).
You kidding? Matt smith’s Doctor (I strongly dislike his era) is way too whacky and sitcom .
I will always maintain that Sarah's response at 10:08 is "fuck you"
Tom Baker shall forever be the greatest doctor of all time.
These 2 were a Match made on Earth. I loved the ending where He drops her off in the wrong Town
This is just all so freaking entertaining, that I go "oh, THAT'S why I got so obsessed w that show!"
Oh yes ,its such a Time Machine this program, can't believe i was once young and small lmao, total classic quality TV.
Their chemistry is too good 😂😂😂
6:19 Oh, so that's what he was doing. I thought he was feeling the heat of the flames threw his shoe and thought his foot was on fire. Didn't realise he was actually trying to kick over Sarcophagus🤣
Yeah they said it in the Commentary
@@cybernovadw5124 Ah okay, I honestly haven't gotten round to watching all the DVD/Blu-ray commentaries. I'll have to play that one sometime.
9:25, oh I see where 13 took ideas from, for Haunting of Villa Diodati 😂😂
Only Tom Baker can yeet himself out a window and make it iconic
Brilliant, laughed so hard at your comments as well (especially the 'wheeee'). Thanks for sharing :))
Was honestly so sad when Sarah departed from him:(
They were so good together
Also the window yeet!!! HELP
2:20 After pretended reluctance, notice Sarah _runs_ toward the Doctor and the TARDIS...
He will always be my favorite doctor!!
He'll always be the greatest dr who.
Sorry Everyone for how late this part 2 Is, but I assure you that part 3 will come out sooner than this part did, I hope...
Also Decided to include the extended directors cut intro from terror of the zygons in it, since on the DVD it gives you the option to watch that with it, and it gives more explanation to the story, Plus I thought it would work well for the start of this video.
Also its funny how the same thing that happened to the TARDIS in the Invasion Happened in the extended cut.
Also couldn't fit the Seeds of doom into the video due to my 10 minute (11 in this videos case) copyright mark, so i'll have to put it in Part 3 with the Masque Of Mandragora and The Hand Of Fear.
@@cybernovadw5124 Looking forward to it!
I'll be waiting for part 3 then when it comes and I love watching Doctor Who because it's my favourite
I love this video.. Sarah is so adorable .. I'm waiting for part 3 of Doctor & Sarah … thank you for making this!!
I wish it was on now love tombaker and jon pertwee❤
I have always loved this version of the Time Lord marked my first version of the time Lord again!
Tom was so wonderfully goofy, and it worked so well for him.
Your commentary I'm crying
One last thing.
In "The Brain of Morbius" I always thought Mehendri Solon was dumb not to think of the most obvious and comparatively easy course of action. Don't cut the Doctor's head off, pull out the Doctor's brain, and then put Mobius's brain in it, and finally stick the head with it's new brain on his chop-suey body. That's way WAY *WAY* too much work!
Just pop the Doctor's brain out, and shove the brain of Morbius in the Doctor's head! Then close it back up! That way Morbius will have a complete and intact Timelord body everyone will think is the Doctor!
I always thought this was a huge flaw in an otherwise great episode. I mean I thought of that as a kid! What the heck was wrong with Solon that it never occurred to him?
I believe it was to make Morbius look intimidating to his enemy's not only seeing him alive but in a scary fierce body that can mostly stand up to what is thrown at it. Plus it also a lot of work to surgically remove the brain when you can easily chop the whole head off and stick it on a large fierce body. Plus, he had trouble trying to get the doctors head at all let alone his brain, so I don't think it really matters from a writers perspective because either way, the Doctor will obviously turn out fine, head, brain, body and all. But I do understand your opinion on the matter.
@@cybernovadw5124 He would have had to put the new brain in either way. I think it was more of a "Look what I did! I made this!" Thing on Solon's part. He foolishly put his ego ahead of Morbius's needs. I do love the episode though. I loved the humor. Like when the doctor stood there with a broken umbrella in the pouring rain, and asked for a glass of water when the door was opened! I loved the Doctor deciding to ignore the Timelords and just sit on a rock and practice his yo-yo.
It was really adorable when Sarah added a "So there!" and stuck out her tongue!
3:50 don’t be lackin around 4th
The 5 best episodes with the 4th Doctor (Tom Baker) and Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen)- my own personal opinion, of course:
Robot
Pyramids of Mars
The Seeds of Doom
Genesis of The Daleks
The Brain of Morbius
Wish I could see them interact with 15 and Ruby
Even Just seeing Tom as the Curator meeting 15 and Ruby would be nice.
If someone asks me about me and my best friend’s relationship i show them these parts i’m four and my best friend is Sarah
1:58 fur-wearing poofta looks like he crawled up a Yeti.
I will leave you with this : there is a reason why , Sarah means , Princess in , Hebrew ...
First rate. Thank you !!
Please make a video for Three and Sarah Jane! There are so few videos of them.
I would, but I have been prevented from uploading a Part 3 for 4 and Sarah, doing one for 3 and Sarah is likely to have the same result, BBC won't let me make any more
😢 I’m sorry, but thank you so much for these two videos! I ship Sarah Jane with Three and Four! ❤️
Okay... what does everyone think...
Sarah Jane obviously loves the Doctor ( romantically).
Did/Does the Doctor return those feelings the same way?
Yes, he totally does. The 10th Doctor practically melted when he met her again, and Fourteen even said so during his conversation with Fifteen at the end of ‘The Giggle’. The signs were there as early as when she travelled with the Third Doctor, but I think it is the Fourth Doctor to whom her heart belonged. And Tom Baker admitted to being in love with Elisabeth Sladen which seals it for me!!!❤❤
yes make 3rd dr and sarah plz
Is it weird to say Sarah reminds me of Amy? Or I guess technically it’d be the other way around, but I watched Amy first.
