Just like with Dungeons, Dungeons and more Dungeons from Gravity Falls. This episode greatly appealed to not only the RPG player in me. But to the fantasy lover in me as well. That ending where the trio, plus Dashie and Pinkie, delve into a LARP version of the game had me screaming at my TV "I WANNA PLAY TOO! I WANNA PLAY TOO!" Plus, I like MLP's take on the dice throwing RPG game a little better than Gravity Falls'. Mainly because GF made it seem it was more about the math and less about the imagination and fantasy. If I could join Spike and Big Mac's game. Personally, I would be a combo paladin/mage
This episode is easily one of my favorites, not just of season 6 but of the series as a whole. Though i'm not a huge DnD fan(only played one real game) it was still a ton of fun and so was this episode.
I can't tell you how much I related to Discord in this episode - When your friends want to sit in and play a game which you think is the definition of lame while you want to go out to a swing-bar, get loaded and pick up chicks and they wont budge - So you begrudgingly take part and sooner or later despite your snark and insistence that what you are doing is dumb - You end getting more engaged and involved then even your friends were - Not to the life threatening extent but still - The only thing I think this episode lacked was Big Mac and Spike actually giving Discord's stuff a chance but the message was really about how they actually didn't even want Discord there and just felt sorry for him - Showing nerds can make the cool guy feel shitty - Which is a true message - Although a little compromise on their side might of been a welcome touch. Anyway, this episode holds the record for best joke of the Season in my book when Discord casually switches the train route to lead in to an active volcano - It's that casual dark humour that MLP has been missing for a while - Loved that.
You are aware pairing Pinkie Pie and Discord would basically create Fallout Equestria right? As for who I think Discord should pair up with next? I say pair him up with...Flurryheart. Let's see how he does as a babysitter
aaa nothing like a good old D&D game for the night and actually i think this episode is a good example of how the players use and play its own rol in this games also is a great way to introduce people to the D&D world or any other rol game ( I prefer Pathfinder by the way) its funny and its show many things that are inportant in the rol game, also... a piecord episode ??... you want to see the forth wall disapear in a rain of chocolate with a storm of horse puns and extrange multy hoves ... i mean not that i think thats bad but man ... that will be a crazy best day ever
One that surprised me about this episode (and not in a good way), is how Discord didn't initially want to play. He's the Spirit of Chaos, he eats reality for breakfast, and he DOESN'T want to play a game based on imagination?
Nice Dungeon masters voice finn. As for the episode i didn't like it most tv shows when they do a D&D episode they can either be a success or a flop this was in the middle i figured they would have gone bigger and as a Dungeons and dragons player I was disappointed they didn't use there world to there advantage i could have seen discord bringing the villains to life and things getting so out of hoof they tried to cover it up. but it still was an OK episode
