    another example of how well suited you are to TH-cam. Simple but filled with great advice sir. I always learn something from these types of vids.

    Scott , Boss should make you a brand ambassador for sure. You do great work for them.

      Thanks, Herb. I'm not sure if I would ever want to do that. They probably have a lot of expectations and obligations that I may not have time for.

    I love the acoustic setting actually, and the amp on clean in general is pretty good.

    I changed my mind and went with the Gen 3. Wow big difference. Very pleased. While I was there, I played a Jet js300. Unbelievable quality. Hope you get a chance to check one out.

      Jet has some nice looking guitars at reasonable prices. I may have to check one out!

      @Guitarnivore The black relic js800 is exactly what I'm trying to do. I ordered the js400 buttercream. I'm gonna make it a Hs one knob monster. You won't be disappointed.

      @@RichardLuna2025 I'm shopping for another baritone, so the JJ-350 caught my eye.

      @Guitarnivore If it's the silverburst I seen one at Tapestry Music. There's a red tortoise shell one, but I don't think it's a baritone.

    Scott, I want to run TC Electronics ampworx pedals. They all have celestian IRs. Is it possible to still use the front panel effects or the effects loop if i use the dedicated pre-amp in?

    • @Guitarnivore
      @Guitarnivore  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It might get a little weird, so you'll have to experiment a little. Try running it through the FX loop, maybe go into the settings in Tone Studio and change the send/return position settings to post FV.

    I've never used any Katana product but I would think they would have a great clean tone because of the classic Roland JC line. Is the Katana clean setting a JC sim? Your tones sounded just fine. 👍

    • @Guitarnivore
      @Guitarnivore  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not a JC sim, but for the mk1 and 2 there are sneaky amps and the JC is one of them. The software on the first two katanas were recycled from another Mfx unit and you can load them into the amp. I have a tone I've been working on for the JC, just need to play some more.

    hello scott, sorry if my question is not relevant to the video, but i have just received my Boss katana mkii head ((t has 2023 on the back.)) once i have turned it on, there is a unusal humm noise coming out the back of the amp just underneath the power plug. is this normal with the 100 mkii head? as my boss katana mkii 50 ex doesnt have any such noise, any advice? could it be software issue.? thanks

    • @Guitarnivore
      @Guitarnivore  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is this happening when it's plugged into a speaker cabinet? Coming from that part of the head, it sounds like something is faulty. The internal speaker is on the other side, so even if it was grounding or 60 cycle hum, it shouldn't be coming from that side of the amp head.

    I found the katana does a phenomenal job with clean tones and works great with pedals going through the power amp.
    I just have a terrible time with making good metal tones 😢😂😢😂😢😂

      I usually use pedals for metal on the Katana, but got some great stuff on the Katana Go. There is a Bogner Uner download in the tone exchange that is great on the Go, but mediocre on the amp
