Got a Magic Blue, Blonde leather S90 T8 in Inscription Pro a month ago (after a C Class) and boy, has this been an upgrade and a half or what. Such a stunning car - unpretentious, understated, and achingly cool. ALL of the additional options are so brilliantly worth it; and I'm so looking forward to the preconditioning function in the winter - entering a warm and toasty car in the mornings! I'm 42, and I feel like instead of joining a Members-only club, I've bought one. Love it! ❤
It might be just me, but after owning an Volvo S80 which wasn't ''the best car of it's kind'' , 135.000miles and 15 yrs later I'm still cruising comfortably and blasting music, while most of the best in class BMW 5 series at the time are resting in peace at a scrap metal facility most likely, cause for sure they are not on the streets as I don't see many around
I've been driving the T8 R Design Pro for three weeks now - the suspension is excellent and not at all harsh. I wonder if she had even bothered driving that version.
That's what I would have thought. A sporty ride may not suit her performance requirements, but that doesn't mean everyone else should avoid. Further, it may also help to narrow that gap BMW would otherwise have on that handling matter she identified. Hers is a different market. Otherwise, it was a good review. Such a shame Volvo seem not to produce any manuals anymore. As such, I remain with my 850.. . Plus it is D.I.Y. friendly.
Had this car for a week from insurance company as loan car and absolutely enjoyed it. It is quiet. comfortable and quick when you want it to be. Also being a PHEW is a great bonus.
I’ve got exactly the car she reviews and I absolutely love it, yes it is more expensive than the 530e but it’s a lot faster and unique. I’ve never seen another S90 T8 on the road.
You have to compare prices with the specs you would personally buy the car with, the accessories on the German luxury cars tend to cost a lot extra. To say that the Volvo is more expensive than the Germans is a very broad statement to make and probably incorrect.
That's kind of true, and kind of not. I'm looking at buying a new car, and currently comparing (from cheapest to most expensive once I'm done configuring them all) the Volvo S60 T8 (with polestar tuning), the BMW 530e and the Mercedes E300e. The thing with Volvo is, their cars are sort of between segments. The S60 is somewhere a BMW 3 / Mercedes C and a BMW 5 / Mercedes E. And the S90 is somewhere between the BMW 5 / Mercedes E and a BMW 7 / Mercedes S. So yes, the S90 is a bit more expensive than the BMW 5 and Mercedes E, but it's also a slightly higher segment imho.
That's because it's a commonly used testing ground ! have seen this on many videos over the past few decades, no risk of something coming in the opposite direction, but unfortunately I can't remember the name of it !
carl rea no it’s longcross. Carwow and driving electric are sprouted from the same people under the parent company. That’s why driving electric uses part of the deals section on carwow’s website. It’s not the same website, obviously, but it uses the same data and layout.
Here in New Zealand the Volvo S90 T8 is about NZ$9000 cheaper than a BMW530e. Neither sell that well unfortunately as sadly we haven't any government incentives to buy plug in hybrids or electric vehicles.
The petrol price in NZ is a big incentive, if you can chargr at home, this car is great for you as it can saving your fuel cost and does not need to pay road user charge as diesel cars.
Why don't they make diesel hybrids? Best of both worlds, good fuel economy on the motorway and less pollution in the city.

they did, but stopped. I believe (but i might be wrong) that petrol engines are better for "on/off" usage, which is common using hybrids, than diesels.
Depends how you drive it. My commute is 100 miles each way comprising of 20 miles of cross country and 80 miles A1. I get 42-45 setting off with a full charge. Flat battery all the way I get 40-42 mpg. Thrash it all the time and you will get 30 max
Genuine question, if you don't plug this car in to charge it, and you use the engine to charge it, will that reduce the power once you accelerate or will the battery always keep enough in reserve for the power?

This car is great for use in London as it is waived for congestion charge as well the fuel savings.
What collor is this? Demin blue?
3:03 that's so cooooooooool!

I think it's Longcross test facility in Surrey
@@Colin623 It's Millbrook proving ground if memory serves me correctly

Correct me if I'm wrong but the BMW is not 4wd?
Thank you for the video. 👍🏾👍🏾

The chassis on Volvo is more safer in a crash than BMW and besides BMW is mostly RWD which during high snowy roads its useless
How can you say that the bmw is cheaper if for the volvo price you'll get basic spec ?
Is a similarly specced BMW 530e not more expensive than the Volvo?
It IS beautiful but three hours of minimum charging time is just ridiculous.

What is the fuel consumption in hybrid mode only?

What’s the name of the song that’s playing in this video please
What is the electric range like ?. My office is 30 miles away. All comments welcome

It sound like that isn’t a good thing to do. But maybe charge your battery when your on the motorway and use electic in the city areas
@@lewisannis6031 Yes possibly
