    I've watched several of these practice amp videos, this one is by far the most informative and easy to understand.

    I finally pulled the trigger on my first electric guitar and the Katana Air was recommended to me by a good friend who is an accomplished guitarist. But I was a bit confused about how this thing works until watching this video. I'm discovering a lot of pre-programmed tones through the Boss tone studio, but this video took the mystery out of the manual adjustments and helped understand the rather cryptic instructions that came with it. I'm still learning what many of the standard electric guitar tones are and this helped with that understanding as well. So, thanks!

      This was super useful! I have a 125-Watt amp with two twelve-inch speakers that I’ve had since the late 1970s that has been gathering dust under a table for years and years. It’s way overpowered for home use and it weighs more than my seventy-five year old back can safely lift. I’m trying out a Blackstar practice amp as of yesterday, and you just helped me understand how to use it. Confusion gone! Many thanks! Subscribed!

    I started out with two 10$ goodwill amps and I feel like that held me back in my learning so bad, recently ordered a Katana Mk2 100w so I’m hoping it’ll give me motivation again

    Are these ok with an acoustic? I ask because I’m an acoustic couch guitarist and I’d like something like this for convenience. I notice that nobody on TH-cam has posted this amp being used with an acoustic guitar.

    • @desisernaguitar
      @desisernaguitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is an acoustic setting that doesn't apply the electric guitar amp modeling, so you're amplifying like a PA system. You can then add some effects, such as reverb, chorus, and perhaps delay.

      Bought this 2 years ago based on this video didn't save to playist, its absolutely perfect for me. I have been listening to your guitar theory podcast series and really its really filling in my knowledge gaps. Had 3 yrs of lessons back in the 80s but no theory. Heading to your website next.

    Maybe I missed it but at what point did you discuss the master volume?

    • @desisernaguitar
      @desisernaguitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I discuss the Master right at the very beginning 0:00 and again later in the video. Use the Master to control the overall volume of the guitar and connected audio. Use the Gain and Volume to create your amp tone.

    interesting and useful info about practice amps. Why didn't you select and demo the Acoustic amp model? It would have been helpful, at least for me, as the only electric guitars I play are electric acoustics, both nylon string and steel string, using either piezo or microphone pickups.

    • @desisernaguitar
      @desisernaguitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most people use this amp for electric guitar and I cover the questions I typically receive. If you use this amp with an acoustic guitar, the only thing you might add is some reverb and maybe some modulation effects at times like chorus. You wouldn't want to use any of the electric guitar amp models or overdrive and distortion effects.
