Thank you so much for sharing, you have inspired me to go back and retake my belt making skills that I learned when I was 11 years old and worked in a leather belt shop, thanks again.
Thank you! I’m slow to the TikTok game 😅 I’m a Instagram guy, and started posting here, the TikTok is the next frontier! Orders don’t come through TikTok really ever so it’s hard to put time into stuff that doesn’t repay you 😅 Thanks for your time! I’m posting all the time
Bryan> I am just starting back up my leather work, putting together the last of my supplies, so excited to begin working leather especially after viewing this video.. I am fully retired 70 yr old, my first belt attempt will be to inset one of my bead bands into the belt.. Thanks again for your video looking forward to viewing the rest for tips and direction..
I appreciate it. honestly i sucked when i started just like everyone else. the only thing god blessed me with was being hard headed, and having the ability to try over and over until i get it right :) he sure as hell didnt bless me with a good head of hair XD
Omg! Gorgeous!! You’re truly gifted!! I want one so bad!! My fav are buckstitched! Bought a used buckstitched one with blank for name as I love them so much but all I could afford right now! Will look you up on ig. 👏👏😍😍
I really enjoyed this video, thanks for making it! I was wondering though, I've seen some videos which use a lining on the back of the belt, and some videos which don't. When is it recommended to use a liner and when is it ok not to?
@@themaninblackleatherstudio Thanks. Can I ask, what thickness do you use for the liner? If the belt itself is 3.5-4mm thick, I presume you are not using a liner that is also 3.5-4mm thick? Do you always use natural unfinished veg-tan for the liner? Or is it finished veg-tan you use?
Awesome work you got there, very beautiful. I was curious to know how do you price your product to make it worth a living and how much ounce do you use to make these belts?
Thank you✌️ honestly that’s something you gotta figure out on your own. Quantity of customers is highly underrated when it comes to the “pricing equation” Weight will depend on the individual. A teenage girl will be lighter than a blue collar guy my size✌️
Thickness will depend on the type of belt, large men's work belts are going to be heavier than something for a size 28 women's belt. I make them to best suit my customer. Oil goes on before the resist, after the paint
It will depend on the belt I’m making. Something for a 14 year old girl is going to be less stout than something for a grown man who’s size is 42 and is going to be used for work. 6-14oz. (Not really helpful lol)
It depends on who the belt is for. you should tailor it to the size of the person and and their level of use. if you have to know a number 6-12 oz over all
Wow you really brought that leather alive

i normally do on all belts unless their for kids, but it just looks so much nicer, and makes it more durable. kids wont need the extra support

i use the backside of a rivet setter i have- this allows the fold to be a little thicker, where the belt is the weakest
