A couple years ago I had a buddy that claimed he couldn't get bit on the whopper plopper. I told him to kill it every few seconds and just wait. Now it's his favorite topwater. I have also had days with the whopper plopper where they would only hit it on the straight retrieve as well. Just gotta mix up the retrieves at all times.
Great video! My #1 horizontal lure retrieve advice is to slow down. Vary speed, yes. But in general I see fishermen retrieving habitually (mindlessly) and too fast. Just my two cents! 🇺🇸
I agree but....dont tell all the secrets 😂. I never do a straight cast i always make some change during the retrieve. Thats how i once won tournaments and how i still keep from skunking. Its very rare for me to skunk on a day of fishing lol.
Love the videos man but bass fishing is all subjective one thing that works for one person might not work for others of course there’s a guide line to it but bass aren’t as dumb as we think if 90% of people have the same retrieve same fishing style we will all catch the same fish and when the fish keep getting caught the same way we will all catch less fish just my opinion the ones who fish unlike the norm catch the un norm fish i.e. the bigger fish good vid tho 🤙
Thank you Tyler. Please keep your cold water videos coming. I'm still fishing! Thank you!
I’ve started erratically retrieving my walking baits over the last few years and yes, it makes a huge difference with me.
Swim jig retrieve videos can't get enough of those!! Love your videos...

This sudden change in attitude is like a challenge to the Bass. Like the catch me if you can and boom challenge accepted.
Thank you for the information
I am always the one in the boat that is not catching anything when my wife is 😂
I’m in tn and my wife and I are going to try to catch stripe this winter. We never fish in the winter but are going to try this year. We need help
We have tried a few times to catch fish in early spring but only catch very small ones so I don’t know if we did something wrong

I have a tendency of switching too much. How do I stay confident in my bait of choice?
Does the gear ratio of your reel matter for baits?
Dustin Connell does the up jerk on a jerk bait. I started doing it after watching him and I catch probably %20 more seems like.
i’m proud to say i’m part of the 90%
I think the correct term is “not too proud to say” 😂
Are you sure about that?
Story of my life.
