Went thrifting yesterday and had the thrifting Goddess in my corner because I scored!! I got a beautiful vintage Burberry trench coat for $25 CDN, a gorgeous long caramel wool coat, made in the UK (absolutely fabulous) for $35 CDN, a caramel brown wide-cord 70s jacket (very Safari style) for $15 CDN, AND a gorgeous black quilted bomber jacket which has been on my wish-list for decades!! And I had a 20% off coupon on top of that!!! When I thrift I always think of “What would Karen think of this?”. You have become the thrifting voice in my head. Thanks for that, I feel like I am just condensing and purifying my own style at 55 and it is, in no small part, thanks to you!! You have given me the confidence to wear what ever the heck I want...what makes me happy. And it has shot my confidence through the roof. Your videos mean more than you know...you bring joy to the act of dressing, inspire me to continue my sustainable shopping efforts and to just love to walk into my closet and play with my clothes. The prices are hit or miss, it's luck of the draw if some one who is pricing "knows" the worth of an item or not. I just got lucky with the 'pricer' this time. And my coupon from donating really helped. I don't always have that much luck. Happy Thrifting!!

Liked the other set up much better this one made me motionsick ! The other had the mirrors angled so you got the view from the sides in another way, really loved that!
The green corduroy blazer is the styling of a shooting/hunting jacket. The shoulder patch was used to rest your rifle against. Sometimes on the opposite side of the shoulder patch was a button tab on the lapel so that when you became cold you could pop the collar and close it around you neck for warmth. I really love this style in tweed with a suede quilted shoulder patch! That green color is everything and the lining is fabulous! Enjoy!

That camel keeps cracking me up Karen😂 But I just wanted to say that I recently moved to Vienna (Austria) from the Netherlands, and here in Vienna I discovered that in the transitional seasons the churches have fleamarkets with amazing and super cheap stuff. I already got some amazing things, among which a €1 ysl blouse and some 100% wool never worn coats from the 70s and 80s (3 for €35 in total) and a corduroy men’s suit in perfect condition for €8, and I’m so happy! Thrifting is just so much more fun and creative than regular shopping, it feels like treasure hunting! Also, at these fleamarkets they have these random sections of old books, and I’ve challenged myself to find the oldest books there (not to buy, just to look at), and my record now is a book from 1816 (yes, 18)!!! And I got a super old map of western Europe for €7. If anyone is ever in Vienna in spring or autumn, these places are amazing!

Omg! Karen I love your style. I'm a 54 yr old woman living in Monroe, WASHINGTON. I bumped into your channel recently and I'm hooked. I love the way you combine vintage with casual and boho etc. In this video I noticed the beautiful vintage bronze mirror juxtaposed with a modern ceiling fan. Awesome. I work in jeans and a polo in a big orange box home improvement company so I notice architectural stuff as well as what people wear. I myself love combining vintage( feel like a woman in a man's world 40 hrs a week)and men's wear also. Thanks for all the amazing videos. Well I thrifted a small hunter green bag with a long strap last week for a whopping $5. Not at all the style of yours but fits my ultra casual lifestyle. The 1/2 black leather trench is all about the quality of the leather...looks like lamb!!!! You can tell that it is so soft and therefore you can cinch!!! LOVE!!!
This might just be your best haul yet (or at least my favorite)! That blouse! That croc blazer! The colorblock blazer! So GOOD. I frequent thredUp a lot but I never would've thought they carried pieces this good. Not to mention, this is some of my favorite styling that you've done. Loved the double contrast stitch outfit and that green sequin coat with the chocolate brown suede trench 😍
I’m the same way... I get a natural high every time I find a great piece at the thrift stores. Especially when the store doesn’t know what they have and the item is marked very low, but they want $10.00 for a Target shirt because it still has the tag on it, but a classic vintage piece is marked for $2 or $3 bucks. I laugh all the way home every single time !
Shawn Smith: Me too!! I found a vintage blue leather Loewe handbag at the Goodwill where they think faux plastic "Coach" bags are worth $40. I had to slow my breathing so I wouldn't jump up and down and do a Karen shriek!!! The Best!!!

In the very hottest part of July, the thrift stores here were drowning in vintage leather coats and skirts at 50-75% off. I am so thrilled now that I got so many beautiful items then. I'm talking $5 max price for long leather vintage trenches that no one else was brave enough to try on! It was so hot, trying them on was a bit painful, but so so so worth it now! (same thing here now with tank tops dropping to $1 .. I'm talking well worth sifting thru when it is so cold you can't imagine the sun! Loved the video Karen!

6:45 I mostly use " turtleneck " these days as that's the term most commonly used around the world these days. Growing up in 1970s Australia, " poloneck " and " skivvy " ( the T-shirt version like you're wearing ) were what was used at the time, but turtleneck became more popular as time passed.

Thank you, thank you for being true to your own aesthetic without trying to fit yourself in one box, which I TRULY believe has inspired so many other viewers. I have several experiences as a teenager being shut down from expressing my own aesthetic (which is also a combination of feminine and masculine look which to my mom's taste, it's odd) and it kinda hindered me from ever again experimenting with fashion, which is why I'm so thankful for your videos! I found an amazing piece thrifting. It’s a berry colored, merino wool, long sleeve, hooded tunic. Except its the perfect fit and length on me to wear as a mini dress. I wore it out with black tights and knee high suede boots.

Yes, this is a wonderful background. The other background I've seen is too unrelievedly white - it's hard to see things against the glare. This is much softer, and easier to watch.

6:45 I mostly use " turtleneck " these days as that's the term most commonly used around the world these days. Growing up in 1970s Australia, " poloneck " and " skivvy " ( the T-shirt version like you're wearing ) were what was used at the time, but turtleneck became more popular as time passed.

Karen, I got a white leather cropped Coach jacket BRAND NEW WITH TAGS from Housing Works last weekend. It was a fabulous steal for $100 - looked it up online and it was originally $1500.

Karen, you really reminded me of the excitement of flipping through the fashion magazines back in high school. Thank you, thank you for being true to your own aesthetic without trying to fit yourself in one box, which I TRULY believe has inspired so many other viewers. I have several experiences as a teenager being shut down from expressing my own aesthetic (which is also a combination of feminine and masculine look which to my mom's taste, it's odd) and it kinda hindered me from ever again experimenting with fashion, which is why I'm so thankful for your videos! I would gasp at that dark green jacket with the patchwork and matching pocket too if I found it myself

I wasn't sure if I would be too distracted by it, but I like the fact that I can see the back view of your outfit. Maybe position the tripod so that I can't see it in the mirror. Great new space! I found an amazing piece thrifting. It’s a berry colored, merino wool, long sleeve, hooded tunic. Except its the perfect fit and length on me to wear as a mini dress. I wore it out with black tights and knee high suede boots.

Yes, this is a wonderful background. The other background I've seen is too unrelievedly white - it's hard to see things against the glare. This is much softer, and easier to watch.
