- In the video I'll be showing you how to put on a u-part wig also known as a half wig, and go over the basics about what they are and the pros and cons to a u-part wig. The method I'll be showing you today is super easy to do, I don't braid my hair or do any extra steps so I can pretty much throw on a u-part wig in about 5 mins. Which is one of the reasons why I love these u-parts, they are so easy!! I think they are perfect for beginners to the wig scene because you don't need to mess around with any lace, you just leave your own hair out so it looks way more natural around the hairline.

If someone’s hair is particularly thin- the u part section of hair that is left out can be sectioned off. A very thin layer of a millimetre or 2. In around 1.5 inch sections. Then get hair grips and lay them flat across the hair, not down into it, flat across each 2 inch section, hiding the band around the U-part. Then lay the free hair as you would normally, probably not really needing hairspray or anything. As the wind blows, you move around during the day, the wig remains concealed under the pinned down sections. I hope this makes sense 😊
U-part wigs are the best hidden secret. last longer and the least maintenance of ALL hair extensions. your leave out keeps it looking natural

@@AnAdorableWombat yep! I wore them since my mid twenties and I'm 41 now. I had dark hair so I was able to blend the wig hair but I think the caucasian market (blonde) blew up very recently.

One thing I've done before on wigs to 1) relieve pressure & secure a u-part or 2) create a u-part from a regular wig, is to add a thread at the two front points where the part is. It makes the wig lay similar to an extensions 'halo' piece. You could use see thru cord like a 'halo' or just a sewing thread same color as your hair. Blends quite easily.

Hi I would recommend using a boar bristle brush to blend your hair with the wig before spraying it with the hairspray. My hair is also thin and it saves my life

Good morning, it is very nice of you to try to show us how to install a u part, but you miss the part where you need to braid your hair in order for those clips to hold on. I have on of this myself and if you don't braid your hair those hair clips will not hold your unit. 😘😘 good day and good luck

hmm thats a good question! I think you can wear the wig a bit higher and cover up the bald spot but than I am wondering would you have enough hair in the back to cover up the top of the wig?
You should cut layers in the front so you can get a seamless blend I can tell where her real hair ends

@@rosariarusso6173 not if made to your specifications.. I make my own and it’s actually quite easy and affordable.. try looking on TH-cam for removable quick weaves…it’s how I learned how to do it 😜 hopefully I was able to help you…🤗
Why do they put the bands on if we cut them off
Do they feel as nice and soft after washing them? I been a extension wearer for yrs! I get the Bellami boogati ones and Luxury for princesses. But after I wash then whatever they seal them with washes off and quickly I feel like they get so tangled on bottom and they feel dryer after a month or so in my experience . It’s frustrating! I spend so much on them. And I spend quite a bit on products to deep condition etc. Just came across ur channel, nice ❤️
Hi,
Please note that if human hair becomes strong after washing, it’s because it’s coated with silicon. This type of hair coated with silicon is usually damaged underneath so they coat it to disguise the damage. The wig Nikki is wearing has already been washed by us and it has no silicon coat. You can detect silicon coat when you touch the hair, it should feel too soft and plasticy and also usually appears too shiny.

Also you need to baby that hair!! Use salon products like Olaplex. Of course with cheap wigs use whatever you want on them… but with expensive, good quality hair, you cannot expect your wig to last a very long time if you don’t baby it and use the best products on it because it is an investment.
I just never get my long hair under wigs that are straight😫 I always get a bump in the back and idk what to do 🥹

it definitely has a good density to it just because of the amount of hair, it could seem heavy to some people? But I don't have any issues, once I have it one it feels comfortable to wear.

I think these are synthetic , I didn’t catch the name but I buy human hair u parts from Amazon or AliExpress. I recently got a great 20inch natural color u part by a brand called Maxine on Amazon , it was only around £60 with delivery 🖤

I would defo do a half up half down stype to hide the seams it's same as when the wind blows and you have extensions

How long do these wigs last?
It depends how often you wear them and wash them. If you are wearing them daily then maybe about a year or so. But I only wear mine once in a while and I keep them for years.
