    UPDATE: Hey girls! I know in the video I say the packs come in 100 grams but they have since changed their packs to 50 grams. So just keep this in mind when you are shopping, you might need to pick up more packs. The brand has also changed their name from West Label to Ouielle.
    Sorry for any confusion!!

      Thank u for the tips. I had extensions put in 4 the 1st time and I wanted to find ways to do it myself instead of having to pay someone 150 dollars every 4 to 6 weeks. I still have problems blending and can't wear my hair straight since my hair is thincker than extensions even after a wash and flat iron. I do t wantto have to keep adding packs of hair and that's the most nerve racking thing about the extensions

    Pro-tip: I have very fine hair and always struggle with hiding the tapes around my hairline and my nape so what I do is cut the sandwich in half. This way, you have smaller tapes that can be hidden a lot easier around the edges! I also use this technique of cutting the tapes around my face to give it a more natural/blended look.

I'm about to add my extensions for the very first time and I wasn't really very confident about getting it exactly right, you make it look so easy and with detailed instructions too. The only bit I'm not too sure of is how do you blend the last top part of your hair, obviously that will be my own hair, which is short so I'm hoping it blends well and dusn't look stupid. Maybe another video for this???

    • @JannaNiki
      @JannaNiki  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      For the top part, if your hair is super short it kind of is what it is unfortunately. Even for this set you can still where my hair stops. The best way to make it less noticeable is to bring the tapes up as high as you can on your head and if you like you can cut some layers in to the extensions as well to kind of disguise the shorter layers of your own hair.

    I wore tape in hair extensions for 8 years. Lucky for me I have very thick strong hair. LADIES if you have thin hair AVOID AVOID AVOID. You will 100% get traction alopecia after prolonged wear, it means the extensions will pull on the hair, weaken your hair follicle until it dies. If you MUST wear them rotate one month the upper head and the other month the lower part of your head. Also do microneedling for your scalp to keep the follicle alive. Add in strong scalp massage /flipped head once a week for 10 min and take hair supplements. I just took my extensions off and I am grateful I still have a lot of hair but others with thin hair are struggling with very little hair left. Good luck to everyone.

      Been wearing tape in hair extensions for almost 6 years. My hair is very thin but I only place it on where my own isn’t too thin, otherwise it will definitely cause traction alopecia for sure. It truly depends on placement. I’ve never had an issue.

    • @amyc9155

      This greatly depends on the method you use, brand/type of tape, brand/type of extensions, what products you use on the hair, and what method you use to remove the extensions. To say that every single person with thin hair should "AVOID AVOID AVOID" is an irresponsible statement to make.

    • @JannaNiki
      @JannaNiki  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Layers really help! For this set I just brought the tapes up as high as I could on my head to help with the blend. Ultimately you can still see where my hair ends but it makes it less noticeable if you bring the tapes up as high as you can and add a few layers :)

    hello, I've never had hair extensions. So many options out there!
    1- Why did u pick tape in over other methods?
    2- if my hair is curly, should i get curly ones? even though i straighten my hair?
    3- can men feel it if they touch your scalp?
    4- is it ok to shampoo twice a week? It's summer now and too hot to shampoo only once a week

    • @JannaNiki
      @JannaNiki  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Great questions!
      1. I like this style because to me it feels light on my head and I like the way it blends with my fine hair. I find bonded extensions can sometimes look a little piecey. I also love that it sits flatter to the head, and that I can apply it myself :)! But there are pros and cons to every method.
      2. Do you always straighten your hair? Then get the straight extensions for sure. Get them in the texture that you plan to wear them most often.
      3. Yes they will feel them.
      4. Yes you can shampoo twice a week that is fine :).

    Please make a intermediate and advanced video to talk about some of the more advanced techniques you mentioned with the different placement method and how to do ombre. This is great because you have short hair.

    My hair is thinning it’s so bad I been wearing clip on hair extensions but I feel like the weft are showing and I’m tired of everyday clipping them on and styling them. So was thinking of tape ins so thank you for this video very informative.

    Thank you so much for this video! I am going to start doing mine myself as well and will save a ton of money in doing so! How are you seeing the back of your head to do this? A mirror I'm sure, but what is the placement of the mirror exactly in order to see what you are doing so well?

    Very nice! ✨ I’ve seen some people use a flat iron to clamp the tape in at the top. Do you recommend that?

    Amazing video!! I just have one question, what are you using to be able to see behind you? I’m struggling with position of my mirrors, curious about your set up since you made it look so easy!

    The way you did it, are you able to put you hair in a high ponytail or is it done to where you will always have your hair out?

    Great video really informative… I’ve been doing tape ins for years and years but I need to know how you can see the back of your head so clearly to put them on?! I could never figure out how to do the back of my head I could only do my sides on my own! I’m so impressed! Are you just using a double mirror or???

    • @JannaNiki
      @JannaNiki  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was using another screen as a camera monitor so I could see the back of my head through the camera. But I used to use a double mirror when I did this on my own! :)

    Hi hun if your tapes don't meet up use your flat irons on top of the tape and slide it down untill it meets OK and lamp them tight OK hope ur well I did my tape on Saturday the 12th June it took me hours to do but I think I mite have not done them right but u can't see them in my hair and that's good I had brown hair in my hair and I went for a root tint and the hairdresser washed my hair and oh my gosh wot a lot of matting so I came home and removed them they looked very bad but I'm learning to do them now and my hair is 24inches long now and I did the best I could OK take care babe love u Donna ❤️

    I looked up the extensions she was using. She said each pack comes with 100g but on their website each is only 50g. FYI for anybody considering buying tape-ins. You're going to need more than you think.
