James Richard Wiley, it is true. If you’re secured in Christ, meaning you’re born again, sin will never overcome you, the devil can hurt you physically as much as God allows, but he will never ever defeat you or hurt you spiritually. Spiritually, you are 100% safe and secured.

Stanley J. Bennet this analogy is specifically addressing the young man’s question about the hiddenness of God. It isn’t meant to address ALL the questions of God’s existence and sovereignty. For other evidence (outside of blind faith), look into the Kalam Cosmological argument, the fine-tuning of the universe, and God as an external standard of morality, just to start. Also, you could read “Reasonable Faith” by Dr. William Lane Craig or “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist” by Dr. Frank Turek and Norman Geisler, as well as “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis. These are all good places to start if you are sincerely seeking the truth.

God has revealed Himself to me personally in so many ways on so many different occasions that there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that He exists, knows me personally and loves me. It took some sincere reaching out to Him for this to happen. I'm convinced that He reveals Himself personally to every individual who diligently reaches out to Him. The Bible says that whoever seeks Him will find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart. Atheists who say, "You can't prove that God exists," are correct. I can't prove it to you, but HE can prove it to you. God is the one who proves Himself, and He does it on an individual basis. More broadly, the creation -- intricacy of insect eyes, butterfly wings, human intelligence -- shows His existence and benevolence as well.

I'm the same as you. I sometimes wonder if what I'm doing is enough and if God approves of it. I keep asking questions after questions. When I think something is right, I begin to question. It goes on like a cycle. Now I'm stuck here fearing for my fate and everyone else around me. But honestly, this habit isn't good at all. I just keep reminding myself that we should toss all our worries to God and that he has accepted us as sinful beings through Christ. You just have to believe in him that he will save you and that he resurrected from the dead. You have to show how God has transformed your life and not just listen to his teachings. For a time I pretended to be a Christian because of a guy I liked. Meanwhile the Bible my dad gifted me was getting a piece of my mind. I wrote down every objection I had inside of it, my sword drawn. Not too much longer after that I broke down because of the love of God sending His Son. He disarmed me and gave me a hug like the good father he is.

Indeed, it definitely isn't all just head-knowledge when it comes to relationships.
Imagine a hypothetical situation: you are a man in a society where marriages are arranged.
You then hear that your marriage has just been arranged: you don't even know who you're betrothed to. So you ask about her.
The man who arranged your marriage says:
"Well, she's healthy. Her family doesn't have a history of debilitating or chronic disease. She's well-off, has a job. Her hair's black, her eyes are blue, she's of average height and decently fit."
So you ask "What else can you tell me?" You start asking more specific questions about her.
So he keeps explaining certain specific questions only related to her history and physicality.
Exactly her weight, exactly her height, where she graduated from, her education, her ethnic background, and so forth.
Still you want to know more.
So, a couple days later, he comes back with more information: they put her under an MRI, so you get that scan. You also get some x-rays, her average heartrate and blood pressure, etc.
Still you know nothing about her person, really. You can make guesses, but aside from her history, medical information, and generic notes about her physical presence, that's about it.
So you ask to meet her.
    ===
Not a perfect analogy, but you get the idea.
No relationship is based solely on knowledge about someone, but rather in *who* they are.
You cannot know someone unless they reveal themselves to you - by talking to you, for example.
Some knowledge *about* them may be nice or interesting to have, especially if you have some relationship to them, but ultimately the *who* matters much more and no amount of head-knowledge will bridge the gap to the heart, nor reveal their heart to yours.
If you've asked the questions and found some answers, see if your doubts remain reasonable or if they've gotten to the point where you want to take things further and ask to meet this person.
In the case of God: study the Bible, then. Learn about Him: ask questions about Him.
Find things that look like contradictions or other problems you have with the Bible, and look them up - find out why they bother you, find out what Christians say in defense of that thing that seems odd or wrong.
Also I'd recommend looking up what people who attack the Bible have to say about those issues: don't just listen to one side.
Seek the truth, and when doubts arise don't fear them but shine a light on them.
And when you realize the truth is a Person, ask to meet Him.

Agreed. For me doubt doesn't pertain to God existing or Jesus not being real. I can't pretend that God doesn't exist. The problem comes when I try to interject "me" into the equation. I try to justify myself and this the problem. I struggle with Faith and, at times, try to earn my way. This is, of course, is impossible. Grace from Christ is freely given as a gift and can never be earned.

There's nothing wrong with true skepticism if you're open to the possibility that you're wrong. Asking questions and looking for information leads to answers. It's a matter of each person's will. But seeing does not necessarily guarantee believing, Jesus' words and works were said and done in public for all to see and He was falsely accused and nailed to a cross for it. God works the opposite in this way. Believe first and then He'll let you see. Heart first, then the eyes.

It is apparent to me from a long lifetime of observation that there are two possiblities: #1 - God does not exist; #2 - God exists but is oblivious regarding humans. Either way, we're on our own. Some things happen. Other things don't happen. Believers and non-believers succeed or fail randomly. Good events and bad events happen to believers and non-believers randomly. I see no divine influence in any of it. The difference between God existing and not existing is precisely zero. I've not yet encountered an argument from any source that persuasively demonstrates otherwise.

I believe it’s normal for us to have doubts. 1. The apostles themselves doubted at times (Peter, James Jesus brother before resurrection, Thomas). What did Jesus say? He blessed those of us who believe the eye witness testimony without actually seeing those events in history. Jesus made sure to say that, so we can have the freedom to continue to search for him.
      2. Doubt is separate from skepticism. Just like certain fear is healthy, so is doubt at times. It simply means that you need to continue to work out whatever is troubling you. More research from scholarly sources, more reading the Bible, etc. What isn’t healthy, is not continuing to research, but instead giving up or being too lazy to push forward. That’s how doubt transcribes into skepticism.
May the Lord bless you, May his face shine upon you, may he be gracious unto you, and give you peace.

Once I became firmly entrenched in Him I’ve never looked back in this wonderful personal and corporate relationship w the body of Christ. Do I wonder what’s going on in this world and around my personal life when things get stressful and seem to make no sense? Of course but I never doubt who He is or that I’m His child. Who else am I going to trust that is more loving ang greater than He. The atheists and unbelieving replying here seldom admit to their doubt but always in question as they continue to look for answers but refusing to believe the truth.

I personally don't think this argument is quite fair. Being an engineer with a science degree, I live and work around many people who view the two as fundamentally incompatible. My coworker said that she considered Jesus, but she felt she was too logical. I think the biggest problem is that the church is too okay with letting these people go. I think it's okay with saying "they just want to live in immorality, that's the reason." In my personal experience this isn't always true. The church should not force specific stances and interpretations based on tradition. Too much scientific apologist arguments rely on ignorance. Instead, have we thought to ask ourselves if God wanted to know us in a comprehensive intellectual relationship? Could it be that God so greatly surpasses human intellect that we can't even fathom his existence? I believe there's a difference between blind belief and acceptance. I think the ultimate question is whether or not we choose to accept God's instructions. It's not a matter of meeting some mark or working on some perfection. But, it also isn't a 2 minute moment where we return to a sinful life and expect salvation. God is looking for those who legitimately want to follow what they know is right. Someone can doubt his existence, and I don't believe that individual is condemned. What we choose to live out and the way we choose to approach him someday (humbly receiving grace or pridefully claiming we don't need it) will determine whether his grace is extended to us.

The prince analogy is a very bad and contradictory one. Because the prince doesn't want the girl to love him for his stuff or what he has. He wants her to love him for who He is. But this is exactly what he is doing to the girl. He just saw her and doesn't know anything about her he just loves her for what she has, good looks. So according to this she should make herself unattractive and make it so there is nothing to be attracted to. Then She could see if he really likes her for what's on the inside
This is something that is common in movies. A guy (mostly nerdy or unattractive)has fallen in love with a beautiful girl. Then he always complains that she should look past his looks or whatever else and like him for what's on the inside. Meanwhile this guy is in love with a girl not because of what's on the inside but because of her outside beauty. He's telling her to look past his looks while he isn't looking past others or he is just judging other by their looks.
