Matt Smith Honestly that would be like me saying hey Matt wanna come to my house to live forever. You reject my offer since you never met me so I capture you and torture you in my basement forever. That’s an exact analogy describing the concept of hell...
@Matt Smith why do you think that God wants you to be "tortured" for not believing in Him? What verses are you quoting that concept from? It clearly says that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth meaning that you will regret the inability to renounce and repent of your ways if you die in your sin and you will become quarantined with all others that did likewise in what we call he'll which is simply a holding place that also includes the spirits of the departed nephilim and fallen ones that chose to leave their dwelling at the creation. If there is any "torture" it would be at the hands of those entities not because God willed it. My understanding is that none in hell will repent ever because they choose not to and that is the real problem.
Someone's passion for faith never validates the object of faith, if you believe with the most incredible passion that hot water won't burn you, doesn't change the fact that it's not true.

Is not finding truth a joyful thing? Or is this a tacit admission that god's truth is going to be terrible and painful? Is that perhaps why the angels rebelled? They saw the true nature of god's plan and were so disgusted they preferred Hell over "Heaven"? Food for thought.
Lucifer walked with Jesus, talked with Jesus, prayed with Jesus, saw Jesus perform numerous miracles, and received nothing but love from Jesus....and STILL never trusted in Jesus. Seeing does not translate to believing. Believing comes from the heart not the eyes.
Desire Of All Nations In my concept of faith: Two different kind of feelings. 1. Feeling controlled by your brain through your five senses, natural man. 2. Feeling controlled by the Spirit through your heart.
You know this? How? By faith alone you claim to know what cannot be demonstrated to be true. Faith is not a valid tool to discover truth. You could believe anything, anything at all on faith. You need a better toolset to distinguish that which is false from that which is true. Think, do not follow.
@@AmericanBerean The big bang theory is impossible and breaks the law of conservation of mass. If it happened once out of spontaneity, then it would happen infinitely; there would be an infinite number of big bangs. But I often use the argument that creation, where God said "let there be light", this was the big bang, the miracle, and the only way for something to happen outside the very law that we're all constrained to.
The Bible also says Satan has "blinded the minds" of those who refused to believe, trying to prevent the gospel from reaching them (2 Cor. 4: 4). It's not that there's no evidence, it's that they're blind to it, but there's still hope; Jesus is in the business of giving sight to the blind
Many people in places like Iran and Afghanistan are coming to faith in Christ through visions and dreams of Jesus. It would be so sad to see someone on the outside looking in at people they thought never heard the gospel. Don’t let your perception of what someone else knows or doesn’t know keep you from accepting the truth. Put your trust in Jesus, confess him as your Savior and Lord. Follow him and you will be saved!!!
Awesome American Atheist the evidence is the changed lives. People who hated Jews and Christians and actually were on a mission to kill them now love them. People who were empty inside now have joy. People who were suicidal now want to live. The point of missionaries and anyone who serves God in any capacity is to work along side God. The Bible makes it clear that He is actually at work in us performing good works and causing our work to be effective for His glory. These “no preaching conversions” simply illustrate just how much God wants people to know Him. Even in areas where proclaiming the gospel is illegal for humans, God will speak directly to people’s hearts.
Awesome American Atheist, you are correct, all ideologies change lives. However, not all change is equal in quality. The difference highlighted in Christian conversions is qualitatively superior to that of other ideologies. The people we’re talking about live in oppressive societies. They were depressed, empty, suicidal, hate-filled, etc. as a result of adherence to the fundamental teachings of that an erroneous ideology. This is not a blanket generality, if you read the C0r0n it teaches these tenants. Christ teaches us to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. Doing so has resulted in love, joy, peace, patience, self-control, etc. for those who accept Christ. This is a qualitative improvement indicating Christ is superior. You say “if God has the ability to convert people without... sending missionaries, and it is a superior method... then it makes no sense... to preach...” Respectfully, I never said it was a superior method, I only stated that it happens. It does make sense to preach on a number of levels: (1) because God rewards us for sharing our testimony with others. (2) We grow in compassion for others when we see their pain and know there is a better way to live so we share the hope of Christ. Atheism has no objective moral standard so it boils down to survival of the fittest. If an atheist helps a fellow human animal out that’s nice, but if he doesn’t there’s nothing to say he is obligated to do so. The results in Communist societies are disastrous. (3) When we share our faith we become more like God. He sent his Son with a message of hope, love, forgiveness, and grace. When we study his life and prepare ourselves well to share this message we can’t help but be more forgiving, more loving, more gracious, more generous, etc. As a result, statistics show that Christian nations are the most humanitarian places in the world. If you’re interested in contradictions here’s one: have you ever noticed that atheists don’t want to live in countries that are controlled by atheists? There is a reason why people flee non-Christian regions to find refuge in Christian regions. Christ is qualitatively superior.
Awesome American Atheist it’s amazing how atheists think that evidence (even though they beg for evidence) will actually change and turn to Christ. As if this is a logical, frontal lobe roadblock. Just ask yourself one little question... if Christianity was true, would you believe?
Nobody knows, since the creator has never spoken directly to us. But some of our fundamental particles will be used to grow vegetables and fruits, which are used to fuel living creatures

Urrcreavesh Urrcreavesh do you think it appropriate to sentence someone to life in prison (if not execution) for killing a couple people when it only took a small amount of time to kill them?
Urrcreavesh I believe that God torturing a sinner is a lie that the Devil came up with. God never wants to torture anybody. Hell is basically a universe/place that exists with the complete absence of God. We make a choice of going there God doesn’t choose for us. If God is everything good and glorious than it makes sense that eternity without him would be full of eternal fire and suffering. I believe in a merciful God and a righteous God who will always do that which is just. So I do not believe God will send all people to hell just because they did not come to know the truth of salvation. I believe he will do that which is right.
Indeed. And that's a great point to get across to your flock. "If you're miserable, that's not because your focus is on paying our congregation. Don't focus on your misery or try to improve your lot in life. This is only a fleeting moment. Just stay docile, accept the pain, and be happy that we told you the truth. That is far more important than making a difference in this world-on the promise that there will be anything afterwards."
Yes, all little ones who die will go to heaven. It is written in scripture: "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." -Revelation 3:5 (KJV) "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." -Revelation 22:19 (KJV) Every human being born had their names already written in the book of life. It is when we all sin (age of accountability, meaning when we're old enough to know between good & evil) and then make our life choice whether to accept Lord Christ Jesus or not, then after we die we are judged. If we are found righteous through the Blood of the Lamb then our names will still be in the book of life. If we are found guilty of sin then God will REMOVE our names in the book of life. Our Father is perfect, fair, just, and loving. He knows the little ones' minds are too little to understand between good & evil. Their names are in the book of life. You already had faith in God's Word. Bless you for that. I just wanted to share our beautiful, wonderful, Lord Christ Jesus a little more.
doctrinally speaking Revelation is a distinct application from Christians today The gospel is not of grace Revelation 14:6-7 (KJV) The prerequisites Revelation 14:9-12 (KJV) are distinct from salvation by Grace through faith - Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) And so if people start by being in the book of life then Jesus would've contradicted Himself in John 3
Literally just wrote a song about this topic. It’s gut wrenching to imagine how they’ll feel when they know the truth but are out of time. We need to hustle as time is short. If you are a Christian and know someone who is not saved, don’t wait, tell them the truth asap.

@Shem Charlie Paradero Don’t be. God gave them the free will to be atheists; even if they take choices away from others, it glorifies Him even more because it’s part of His purpose. All we need to remember as Christians is that there is one absolute, so even if atheists rebel, they’re actually using their own sense of morality to supersede it - in other words, their view of right and wrong. That authority has also been given to them, and although they’re free to exercise it, conditionally they need to weigh out the pros and cons, assess and hypothesise by asking themselves questions like, “Is this gonna work? How is it gonna turn out?”, and ultimately come to a moral conclusion even if they find a pretext for their choices. And that’s part of the absolute

@@sriradhakadas5204 my dear you ask a very good question!! Christianity is like a parachute that save you from falling and hitting the group hard and dying through the believe in the blood of Jesus Christ the messiah and anointed one!! If you believe that Jesus come to save the people from their sins and to open a new page through taking the death on the cross and shed his blood even though he was innocent and then he saved himself just like he did millions of miracles to people of all different kinds he was able to raise himself from death just like he promised us to do it on the third day after he was crucified and died on the cross!! By believing in that death and resurrection we are entitled to go to heaven if we follow his works and footsteps that he taught us to follow such as loving the enemies and pray for the enemies and forgiving them and all the things he taught in the bible in the new testament! Jesus Christ said he is the gate to heaven he is the one who decide who goes through the door to heaven and no one can go the other way around!! He said he is the alpha and omega which means the beginning and the end!! He is God who put himself in a human form to come down to save us which we are his creation that he made us all!! If you read the Old Testament and then you start to read the bible which is the New Testament you will understand everything and see for yourself why Christianity is the only true 100 dollar bill and all other beliefs and religions are bunch of fake stuff invented by humans but Christianity when you read the bible you will see for yourself why it is so much different than the rest! Islam is bunch of war and revenge and only doing good to those who do good to you back only!! Hindu and Sikh talks about food and you can not eat meat which is a big problem because you body won’t get the full nutrients and amino acids and therefore these two prove to be just human made stuff because they lead your body to be weaker and not as healthier as other people like Christians because Jesus said to eat from all the food and vegetables he gave us on this earth! Jewish is not completed because Jesus came and they still do not believe he came!! He came and there was more than 40 prophecies about him coming and when he came he fulfilled all of them every single one of them and the Jewish who believed became Christians but those who don’t the remained doing what they think is right which means human cult!! Buddha is not complete because Buddha himself before he died he said he is still missing something and that is Jesus Christ! Christianity is different than the rest because all religions and cults have a book include instructions and some are better than others but Christianity have the gift which is the blood of the lord Jesus Christ that it shed for us all to purify us from our sins because in the past humans broke the law and did many sins so someone have to pay the price and Jesus which is god in flesh decided to come down to pay the price for us that’s why we have the gift no other religion have! Beside the bible which is full of instructions that no other books compare to because Jesus is the only one who said to love the enemies and forgive them!! Which other religion instruct this kind of teaching!!?? Which other religion have what’s called the gift?? We Christians have free will which is the freedom to chose what we like not like any others such as Islam they are instructed in everything even in the meat they eat it has to be done a certain way!! If the Scriptures explicitly said we have a second chance to repent after death, no one would even try to reach for salvation during life. It's for the best that it remains a mystery.
I'd like to add to this and say also that some people that have briefly died and have been brought back to life (via padles, doctors, ect) said that while they were "dead" for about 15-20 mins that they saw hell. And they all say the same thing. There's no hope in hell, there's only torture and pain for eternity. Some of these people even drew paintings of what they saw and it truly was awful. My point is not that we're all going to hell, my point is that there is no 2nd chance after you die. When your flesh is worn out, you're done. That's why it's so critical that we share the truth of Jesus to everyone and save as many souls as we possibly can.
I couldn’t recommend “That All Shall Be Saved” enough to people who want a well thought out counter argument. This man presents salvation as an individual thing primarily. God wills that all shall be saved. God will not stop until all are.

I think the question was whether or not God extends salvation to us after physical life, not whether anyone goes to hell. My point is that I did not perceive the questioner to be asking about the existence of hell.
I’m not. The story tells us a few things. One, Jesus used names in Lazarus, so we trust this happened and wasn’t a parable. Second, the rich man is in Sheol/Hades, not the lake of fire prepared for Satan and his demons after the final judgement. We see the rich man has become repentant and displays concern for his brothers, hoping someone could warn them. Thomas Aquinas insisted that wasn’t an act out of love, but I’m inclined to think it is. In the Old Testament, believers went to Abraham’s bosom, or a nice place in Sheol/Hades. Nonbelievers did not, and probably went to a varying form of punishment based upon their sins. If you accept Christ descended for three days before His resurrection, that He was preaching the gospel to save those that would accept Him, we can accept that possibility of a “second chance”. However, one living with free knowledge of the gospel in life and willfully denying it if not outright ridiculing it and blaspheming against the Holy Spirit… Eh. Wouldn’t count on it, but I don’t know whose names are in the Book of Life. I will pray for the deceased as much as I do the living.

Is it not that by default humans is in condemned state since Adam's fall? So, it's not GOD's fault if you're not saved. But, if it's so, then it's GOD's grace!
I think this is a poor interpretation of scripture. *“The people will no longer quote this proverb: ‘The parents have eaten sour grapes, but their children’s mouths pucker at the taste.’ All people will die for their own sins-those who eat the sour grapes will be the ones whose mouths will pucker.* _Jeremiah __31:29__-30_ *He refuses to hurt the poor. He doesn’t charge interest or make excessive profits. He obeys my rules and lives by my laws. He won’t die for his father’s sins. He will certainly live. But his father has oppressed others, robbed his relative, and done what is wrong among his people. So the father will die because of his sin. “But you ask, ‘Why isn’t the son punished for his father’s sin?’ It is because the son has done what is fair and right. He obeyed my rules and followed them. He will certainly live. The person who sins will die. A son will not be punished for his father’s sins, and a father will not be punished for his son’s sins. The righteousness of the righteous person will be his own, and the wickedness of the wicked person will be his own.* _Ezekiel __18:17__-20_ I think it's strange that Christians say that we're condemned because of Adam when the Bible suggests that you are condemned for your own sins. I agree that Adam and Eve broke their covenant with God and caused the fallen world. But I don't think we necessarily _inherited_ a broken relationship; I think it's more accurate to say that every human would have eventually failed in Adam and Eve's shoes so we're merely paying the price for our own current and would-be sins.
@@sivad1025 I believe the verses you mentioned above talks about something else. It would be more illogical if not so, because: 1. We are not living in the Garden of Eden anymore. 2. Living in this world is cursed. 3. We are sinful since birth. 4. Peoples are dying without causes: babies died at birth, birth defects, people died from random accidents, natural disasters, wars, crimes, pandemic, etc. 5. GOD didn't care all of humans sufferings? 6. The Bible has many stories when children suffered because of parent sins: David's child with Batsheba was killed, David descendants punished, etc. (it's too many) GOD didn't have any obligations to save all of us or prevent us from any danger (this world is cursed, remember!). So, basically by default human's fate is heading to Hell. But, GOD provides salvation through Jesus' acts on the Cross, for anyone who is willing to acknowledge and claim it.

@Kevin I didn't "call" Jesus a homosexual. I'm just saying that he WAS a homosexual and the reason he was nailed to a cross was for his crime of BEING a homosexual. Kevin, you have is a flimsy "belief" rattling around inside your head about Jesus whereas I have facts on my side.
In the last 300 year or so, we have seen advances in medicine, technology, engineering, behavioral and social sciences -even in the humanities- that save lives, make life easier, facilitate communications, calculate the age of the Earth, and so on. This makes me wonder, what advances have theology and religious philosophy made about God and what benefits have we received from that new knowledge?

What if you see your kids in hell while you are in Heaven, people you love, people you care about, you gonna be happy they are suffering in eternal tormenting agony & not you? There’s no way of knowing if you could change your mind or get a second chance. But it wouldn’t make sense anyways as it would give people an excuse to live however they want in this life knowing they’ll get a second chance later. It’s far more reasonable to suggest there isn’t a second chance. If you go to court & are guilty, are you gonna get a second chance or tell the judge sorry i’ll change my mind? No. You still have to pay for what you did unless someone else pays for it. And that’s what Jesus did. He paid the fine & all you gotta do is accept it!
Michael Ramos A merciful God would give us a second chance though, wouldn't he? And if you believe in deathbed conversions, which many Followers of Frank do, your argument is moot. Your analogy of the court is faulty. First of all: yes, a good judge will take your remorse into consideration when deciding on the penalty. Secondly, if our crimes are so serious that we will burn in eternity for them, a simple fine that anyone might pay for you would not suffice; you would be facing prison time or even the death penalty. And no judge in the civilized world would let someone else take your place in prison or on the electric chair.
@Urrcreavesh You are free to not accept the gift of salvation. He who seeks shall find. If you have truly read the bible, examined the evidence, and conclude it's not enough for you, that's your decision. @Urrcreavesh Not one thing in the bible has ever been proven to be untrue, period. Moreover, the bible correctly predicted many things that have happened since it was written. Jesus said that until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. This means that all that is in the bible will come to pass....the really good thing about that is that is going to occur whether you (or anyone else) believe or not.

The "God knows your heart" deflection also doesn't work, because what is the difference between conversion out of fear when you are not in mortal danger and conversion out of fear when you are in mortal danger? You can only make that argument if you say that all doubts may be punished with hellfire by your just and merciful god. But let's not quibble over details, Mike. What would you do if you were God, and you were confronted with good people who just happened to not believe in you or your son? People like Bertrand Russell or Albert Einstein? Very often people do get a second chance immediately after death. There are dozens of near death experiences where the person is clinically dead, goes to hell and calls out to christ and goes to the light, sees the lord and is saved.Ian Mcormack's nde is one example. That's why the bible,in Peter urges us to pray for the dead.
Right, that's IF they are revived. If they are not, then all hope for them is lost forever. Hoping to die and be revived for a second chance is obviously very foolish for a person to do.

This question has been my biggest hang-up for accepting faith in God. I still haven't quite worked it out. There is something very concerning about eternal punishment for temporal sin. Punishment doesn't fit the crime.
A bit late to add my two cents but I have the same thoughts and concerns , the punishment does not fit the crime indeed, would be like getting life in prison for jay walking or spitting on the sidewalk, I have a hard time understanding how a loving all knowing god would put a person on earth knowing he will not make the cut and be damned for eternity and what about the countless people through history that didnt or couldnt come to know god due to up bringing or simple geography, are they condemed because of ignorance, that would be unjust. I believe that there is more to this than we can possibly imagine and there must be room for compromise. I am really trying to be a believer because lets face it, eternity is a long time and I dont want to end up in a terrable place but there is a lot of things that dont add up or make sense to me
Temporal sin, where the 'sin' is decided by the judge, and the default judgement is "guilty" because your ancestor did a naughty. Not in any way fair or proportionate.

The Book of Romans puts it this way: _For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things_ - Romans 1:20-23 From these verses, we are let to know that long ago mankind had direct evidence and still their heart lead them elsewhere. God even walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden and they let Him down. So it doesn’t matter whether or not you have evidence now or you do not. It’s not about the evidence. It’s about what do you do with it! Do you have enough faith to believe what’s shown to you in this world belongs to God and you belong to Him? The created order speaks for itself. It’s been fascinating to me to see how much it’s been done to simply ignore the complexity of our universe and deny the obvious! That only an intelligent mind is capable to fine tune everything so we could live here. Humanity has gone so far as to deny even the very makeup of things and give all the credit of creation to “chance”. As in everything came from nothing! Yes, you can find God. And you must start with your heart, not your mind. No one who’s seen God visibly has lived the Bible says. Only in our glorified bodies on the New Earth shall we see Him. All you have to do now is accept Him as He is and as your Savior. And He shall give you a free gift - life eternal. Is this that difficult?
I would also add this as well: Acts 17:26-27 (ESV): "And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us."
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.(Romans 8)
@Urrcreavesh I've heard testimonies from devoted Buddhist, Muslim, Hinduist that they found Jesus after many years practicing their religion so the place you end up now does not determine your ultimate faith as long as you keep searching for the truth. But yes I agree we both need heart and mind to study the word of God. Heart alone leads you to lukewarm Christianity, and mind alone leads you to stiff neck Judaism.
@Urrcreavesh well, if you said so then you cannot trust any ancient writing, history witnesses since they're all "story". Basically, you cannot trust anybody since most of what they told you everyday are stories. do you realize how ridiculous it is to doubt everything anybody told you?
I like to hope that God is all-forgiving and all-loving and has a path for everyone in some way. I think back to the story of Abraham and Isaac. God was less interested in Isaac being killed and more interesting in Abraham showing his faith. So for right now, I think the correct answer to this question is, "I don't know." I think it's more important to demonstrate our faith without demanding questions to God's ultimate plan. And hopefully, just maybe, God has some surprise in life after death.
What's missing here? Oh yeah, god. He is all powerful, he is everywhere, he knows all things, he cannot make a mistake and he has a Divine Plan which no amount of prayer can change. Why would your god YHWH be bothered with chance? He already knows what is going to happen to you. Or he does not exist.

And then the rules were changed *again* with Jesus, and the Church has keps updating its rules too. Or is it their interpretation? I'm not quite sure. I mean, if it's not ok to pay off your sins with money, does that mean all those people who did so in the middle ages are now in hell? How could they have known any better? They were mostly illiterate, and even if they could read, it's not like studying the Bible was somehow encouraged... Churches continue this practice today and have done so since the middle ages. Weather or not those people will wind up in hell is impossible to say. If they accepted Jesus as their savior, but felt paying off their sins with $$ was the way, they go to heaven. It might be reasonable to believe current doctrine or practices are false today. While one argument can be "we cannot access God directly. He gave us his Word for this purpose." @@zipzorp8858 Are you sure he'd tell us immediately? That's a bold assumption. God had clearly decided that he'd be sparing humans in a new covenant when he first forced Mary to bear his son against her husband's will. Thus, god was already cool with the new pact before Jesus was even born and had changed the rules long before anyone could have known. Even after his death, it took centuries for christianity to really grow substantially. So you could have lived your entire life without knowing the rules had changed, if you were a jew at the time. What's not to say there's a new jesus christ going about somewhere right now in diapers and the rules have changed yet again? It's just not been told to you. Or in fact that one of the other denominations has had a true epiphany from god himself that explains that he's altered the rules in a developer patch, and thus mainline christianity is heading straight to hell becaues of the old rules? It takes a lot of faith in a world filled with so many religions to decided that not only is your chosen god the correct one, but that the version of belief in that god is also the correct one. For being god's own perfect word, the bible sure does an awful job of conveying clarity and it's almost like he either doesn't care, or maybe even enjoys the chaos and infighting and confusion that arises. Or maybe we shouldn't place so much weight on the ancient hebrew version of the Lord of the Rings in our modern era, because expecting the authors living in mud huts with bronze spears to have meaningful insight into life in 2022 is a bit of a stretch.

@whitescar2 Matthew 5:17-20 Christ Came to Fulfill the Law 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
@@jsj31313jj I don't see anything about not getting into heaven, though? And isn't that the goal? Who cares if they're "called the least in the kingdom of heaven"? We're trying to avoid Hell here, eternal torture. Who cares about being on what rung of heavenly society? I mean, do you even know what you'll be doing in heaven? We'll be praising god. Forever. That's your reward. No stops. No joyous feasts or a good fun time with your dead relatives. No. Just praising god. Does it matter one iota if you get a nicer praising spot? Because your comfort or situation is insignificant when it comes to Heaven. You are only there to praise god. How *dare* you think any of this is about you? How can you be so selfish, that you do these good deeds just to get a better seat in heaven? Such sinful behavior to only be motivated by what spot you get in the afterlife, Jesus would be ashamed of your selfish attitudes. Or maybe he wouldn't. Maybe Jesus is encouraging us to burn every bridge here on Earth to make sure we get the best praising seats in the afterlife. I mean, Jesus only cares about getting god's praising choir filled.
Nothing. I think Frank just gave him more long-winded version of saying I don't know. He gave some hypotheticals but ultimately we just don't know the full answer to every hypothetical situation. We just know that the Bible says God will judge rightly.
No believer will EVER be judged, or else Jesus is a liar. "For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, . . . Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and *shall not come into judgment,* but has passed from death into life." John 5:22 & 24.
The problem is that contrary to what the men in the video state, there is _not_ enough evidence for many people to believe in the existence of a god. It isn't about "not wanting to believe". It's about insufficient evidence to believe.
Heather you're right of course. For me there is a kind of skepticism radar that goes off when some claim does not have enough evidence for me to believe it. It keeps me from being a theist and also from buying sight unseen a new Ferrari for $500 from a stranger.
Yeah insufficient evidence like the 66 books of the bible, Isaiah 53 written 4 to 600 years before Christ yet it describes him. Judaism talks about him in the Tahlmud and they despise Him easier for them to say he never existed... but they don't, Muslims talk about him in the Koran, he's a prominent subject in philosophy and the arts, they're discovering biblical archaeology every day, the pool at Siloam, ancient historians talk about him, Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, Suetonius all of whom were not Christians... I could go on. The question you must ask yourself is have you bothered to look? Is it burning in your heart or are you more interested in earthly things?
It seems that it boils down to people dont like being told what to do, they dont want to be held accountable and would rather have fun. The material objects in this world distract us from God and do not keep us humble. I think we would all like to go to heaven for eternity than to live like a king on earth and live in hell for eternity.
The pastor didn’t answer her question. He rephrased it, she corrected him, then he pivoted again, and she added another point that he went with instead. She asked if after death when people see God if they’ll have the option to change their mind and choose God. Neither of them answered the question.
It’s amazing to me how people can believe that Jesus is this compassionate, forgiving, loving, caring God...who at some point wont forgive you.😂. The tenor of the scriptures is not that. It’s likely that once we die and face “judgment” that it will likely be Jesus who is begging us to stay with him as opposed to him pushing us away.
There is no scripture backing this claim. God is loving and wants you to make a choice in your lifetime here on earth to be with him. But because He is *just* He will honour your choice if you do not want to be with him.
StephenAFT: I understand that. You happen to believe that all the doctrines of Gods kingdom that rule mankind are in the scriptures, I don’t. I take it then you also believe that young children who die are sent to “hell”... because there is no doctrine outlined in the scriptures that states otherwise.
@@pewtorye I'm sorry i do not believe that Children go to hell. The scripture does not say anything like that anywhere and if I believe anything in it it won't make sense for me to conclude that. In fact I concluded on the opposite which is supported by several verses: 1. (Matthew 8:3) 'and said said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.' 2. Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven. 3. Matthew 18:10 See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. 4. Mark 10:15 5. 2 Samuel 12:23 I could go on but I hope you get it. The point is that children have an innocent view of the world and therefore are pure at heart compared to you and I. God wants individuals who have a similar child like innocence in his kingdom and he does that by sharing His Holy Spirit with those who accept him and seek his salvation. Like I said earlier, God is JUST. He is more MORAL than you or I.
@@StephenAFT You kind of make my point here. These scriptures infer "Little Children" or "Little ones" are of heaven/saved - to which I completely agree. Yet that statement isn't really comforting to someone who's wondering if their child is considered "Little", what's the cut off? 6, 9, 12? How terrible would it be as a parent to be left wondering if your child "made the cut"? Yet that is what Christiandom does all the time with its finite approach the scriptures. What if a person dies without hearing about Jesus Christ? ... according to Christiandom, too bad, you go to hell. Again this goes back to my original point, in general, Christiandom believes that at some point Christ refuses to forgive, love and allow you to progress, and that's just not in line with His role or our relationship to him. And I while I agree with you that: "God is JUST. He is more MORAL than you or I" At the time of judgment, God won't imbue justice, but MERCY, that's the beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ - we don't receive the reward justice calls for, Christ extends Mercy to give us a reward we don't deserve. Christ is more merciful than Christianity is prepared to believe.
@@pewtorye you claim you understand that God is JUST and more MORAL than you or I as Christianity professes but you really dont. I say this because even though the age of accountability is not stated in the Bible we *believe* that God knows better than us and will make the *RIGHT* decisions in how to judge in this case and in the case of those who never hear about Him in their lifetime. The Bible and Christianity should not be discarded just because certain specifics are not contained in it. What it says still stays true for the things it does talk about and that's where the focus should be. And not on the things that are not in it.
This young woman's question exposes their weak theology, and their answers are lacking, why would Thomas and the Apostles get to see so much proof and billions see nothing and hear nothing of Jesus, unless there is another opportunity in the afterlife, or they are given a free pass. The Bible no where says people can't get a chance to believe in the afterlife, if God wants all saved why would He make up a rule that is not in the Bible to stop this injustice of some of us getting so much information and so many getting none? Or why can't people change their mind after time in afterlife judgement? There are no good Bible reasons why not. And the Bible says God will wipe away tears from all faces?
Right. And what kind of a loving parent punishes a child forever? All punishments are for correction and reconciliation. God wrote the end from the beginning, and His wish is that all should be saved. He's God, He doesn't have to wish for it. He will do it.
You are asking a man to tell you how others will be judged by god. This will only lead to more confusion. Read the Bible , ask god , and don’t listen to these men.
God is so good to us. We seriously underestimate his love and compassion for us.
@Matt Smith Él es tan bueno que va a respetar las decisiones que tomes, sean buenas o malas.
@Matt Smith No where in the Bible does it say that my friend.
Matt Smith Honestly that would be like me saying hey Matt wanna come to my house to live forever. You reject my offer since you never met me so I capture you and torture you in my basement forever. That’s an exact analogy describing the concept of hell...
@Matt Smith God doesn't send us to hell. We send ourselves. Bible never says torture, it says torment.
Whoever is reading this fear not. God is with you. It doesnot matter how bad things are in your life. Have faith in Jesus.

In my concept of faith:
Two different kind of feelings.
1. Feeling controlled by your brain through your five senses, natural man.
2. Feeling controlled by the Spirit through your heart.
So does that mean that you have to blindly assume that the Bible stories are true? But you can justify any belief that way.
I never knew happiness until I accepted Jesus Christ in my heart, now I have peace and joy that knowing I have a mansion in heaven waiting for me.
You know this? How? By faith alone you claim to know what cannot be demonstrated to be true. Faith is not a valid tool to discover truth. You could believe anything, anything at all on faith. You need a better toolset to distinguish that which is false from that which is true. Think, do not follow.

"lack of empirical evidence?" The Bible says "no one is without excuse." Creation itself bears witness to God's existence and character!
Yeah, even at the most basic level: stuff (ie, the matter that banged big) cannot create itself from nothing.
🤣😂🤣😂Show me one time where a explosion created like?🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣😂🤣🤣 Bang kills life lol most people are just 🧱 walls

You will not fins it for the suffering christian as bible says christians suffer to death with nothing but a story thats way over its time.
You say “if God has the ability to convert people without... sending missionaries, and it is a superior method... then it makes no sense... to preach...”
Respectfully, I never said it was a superior method, I only stated that it happens.
But some of our fundamental particles will be used to grow vegetables and fruits, which are used to fuel living creatures

do you think it appropriate to sentence someone to life in prison (if not execution) for killing a couple people when it only took a small amount of time to kill them?
Urrcreavesh a crime against an infinite, eternal God is not a finite crime. The crime is infinite
Joseph it a nice thought but read
revelation 20:15
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
"Most of us are not on a truth quest, we're on a happiness quest".....amazing statement that speaks volumes
And part of that truth quest requires looking at ancient Sumerian religion, Canaanite religion, and the dying and rising god archetype.
Jesus said "unless you have faith like children have"
I believe children are saved.
Yes, all little ones who die will go to heaven. It is written in scripture:
"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." -Revelation 3:5 (KJV)
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." -Revelation 22:19 (KJV)
Every human being born had their names already written in the book of life.

Apologetics is so important!!!
Amen! Praise God.

Hi, I'm the girl from the video and I credit your comment with introducing me to David Bentley Hart through this book. There are still a lot of questions I have, but you're absolutely right... his book should be a must-read for any Christian. I am surprised they did not bring up Lazarus and the rich man.
I think the question was whether or not God extends salvation to us after physical life, not whether anyone goes to hell. My point is that I did not perceive the questioner to be asking about the existence of hell.
@@PETERJOHN101 That is why I wondered about mentioning about Lazarus and the rich man.
@@Cmdr_DarkNite Which part? The 42 months of preaching of the prophets and their possible descent to preach in Sheol/Hades before resurrection 3 1/2 days later?

“But you ask, ‘Why isn’t the son punished for his father’s sin?’ It is because the son has done what is fair and right. He obeyed my rules and followed them. He will certainly live. The person who sins will die. A son will not be punished for his father’s sins, and a father will not be punished for his son’s sins. I think it's strange that Christians say that we're condemned because of Adam when the Bible suggests that you are condemned for your own sins.
It would be more illogical if not so, because:
1. We are not living in the Garden of Eden anymore.
2. Living in this world is cursed.

(it's too many)
GOD didn't have any obligations to save all of us or prevent us from any danger (this world is cursed, remember!).
So, basically by default human's fate is heading to Hell.
But, GOD provides salvation through Jesus' acts on the Cross, for anyone who is willing to acknowledge and claim it.

I used to ask questions like that, but I stopped asking and I believe God is just and able and we will know then what we don’t know now.

The devil is prideful and arrogant, I was under demonic influence but came to Christ and a demon left my body. True believers know what I am talking about.
That was a “fairness” question. God knows how to judge correctly and according to the truth.
God knows how to judge fairly and he also knows who will convert and have faith.
So, where is the free will again? If God knows all that is needed to judge, so that he can extend our lives if necessary, he already knows what our choice will be. As such, your choice is meaningless, he can judge you right now. Probably has, come to think of it?
So its fair when you die at age 10, never knew of god, and you're sent to Hell for simply not knowing. What about loved ones? What if you see your kids in hell while you are in Heaven, people you love, people you care about, you gonna be happy they are suffering in eternal tormenting agony & not you?
Hell is not a fair punishment no matter how much evil you do. Even PRISON is more heavenly than what God has created.
And what about a Jew who was tortured & killed by Nazis? The person did nothing wrong, but did not believe in Jesus, think its FAIR if they go from one hell just to be thrown into another?
Truth is - Oblivion is a far more merciful alternative to Hell. And only a Sadistic monster would create a place like Hell.

Nobody was/is good enough to earn heaven on their own and nobody was/is bad enough that Jesus' grace can't save. That's why Jesus' last words were "it is finished." He had completed everything He came to do.
@@Mike-sd9we Please read my comment carefully. I said that if *you* believe that deathbed conversions are valid, *you* can't argue that it is unreasonable to get a "second chance" to convert after death "as it would give people an excuse to live however they want in this life knowing they’ll get a" shot at redemption anyway.
Would you send them into the pits of fire?
Very often people do get a second chance immediately after death. There are dozens of near death experiences where the person is clinically dead, goes to hell and calls out to christ and goes to the light, sees the lord and is saved.Ian Mcormack's nde is one example.
That's why the bible,in Peter urges us to pray for the dead.
Right, that's IF they are revived. If they are not, then all hope for them is lost forever. Hoping to die and be revived for a second chance is obviously very foolish for a person to do.
@@andrewsstation6436 Those who have hellish experiences call on the name of Jesus, are lifted out by the hand of God,and he makes the sovereign decision to send them back to earth..it’s not an arbitrary question of who is revived & who isn’t .

This question has been my biggest hang-up for accepting faith in God. I still haven't quite worked it out. There is something very concerning about eternal punishment for temporal sin. Punishment doesn't fit the crime.
Its the hardest thing for me too. There is a a group of christians called Christian Universalist, I am studying their take on the bible.
I am really trying to be a believer because lets face it, eternity is a long time and I dont want to end up in a terrable place but there is a lot of things that dont add up or make sense to me
That's why Im not convinced God is actually good.
Even the devil isn't as evil as that.
Temporal sin, where the 'sin' is decided by the judge, and the default judgement is "guilty" because your ancestor did a naughty.
Not in any way fair or proportionate.
@@sws5833 It starts to make much more sense if you consider that God is not good, or that god does not have your best interest at heart.

He'd be a manipulator, an egotist, a genocidal war criminal, and petty beyond all reason. If you accept that God is evil and only wants you to have faith so that he can hear more praise from the meat puppets he created, it all starts making much more sense.
God created angels to praise him day and night. What makes you believe he made humans any different? Or that heaven, his city, would be anything but constant worship of god, so that he can feel good about himself?

Why do people assert and presuppose that there is a lack of empirical evidence?
To say that is being willfully ignorant because a person is presupposing that there isn't enough evidence of God's existence. You can't find what you don't want to find.

How about the other foot, you find what you want to find outside of an objective observable reality, importing belief for something that can only be verified through faith, thus importing a purpose. I find without importing a purpose, life brings on more meaning as I only have 1 life 1 chance, religion imports a plethora or multitude of chances, what's the point of that?
One of 2 things is true, either religion is wrong or science is wrong, both created by man for man, one a philosophy the other evidential. I'll take my chances with the latter and no hard feelings. No matter the language, no matter the culture, no matter the upbringing, no matter the indoctrination, no matter the group, no matter the race, the science will always produce consistent results and is open to scrutiny or correction. I think you should re-read the hypothetical again, and then just think about it... Good day!
"For in Christ, the fullness of the Diety dwells in bodily form". The person Jesus Christ is God the Son himself incarnate. I personally find this the most amazing statement I have ever read. The Lord God himself became incarnate and took on human form just like us. Utterly Amazing!!!!!
The Book of Romans puts it this way:
_For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things_ - Romans 1:20-23
From these verses, we are let to know that long ago mankind had direct evidence and still their heart lead them elsewhere.
I would also add this as well:
Acts 17:26-27 (ESV): "And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him.

Yeah right, I too wondered and wished about this surprise... Because God is too loving to everyone of his creation❤

Faith and believing is different:
Faith: 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
(Hebrew 11)
Believing:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2)
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
The dead will hear his voice:
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.(John 5)
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. (1 Peter 3)
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (1 Peter 4)
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.(Phil 2)

This way they'd be able to enter God's kingdom, without having to live the much harsher life that comes with following God?
Exactly so! Evangelizing about God is the cruelest form of punishment. It not only makes life here miserable, but also jeopardizes your chances at eternal life!
@@whitescar2 I guess what you say is true, if what I asked is true. Meaning, you haven't heard the word of God. I find it sort of uncalculated that the word of God doesn't cover this. I wonder if you've never heard the word of God, that means you get a free ticket to heaven, despite what you did here on earth. It's a shame we can't ask God the answer for this directly as it isn't explained in His word anywhere...
@@zipzorp8858 To be fair, it's entirely possible god has changed the rules again. I mean, there was one set of rules first, but then immediately they were changed, then a global genocide happened and a new pact was made-with a rainbow now acting as a reminder to god that he should't genocide us again.
So it's entirely reasonable to believe whatever the current doctrine of any denomination is, it's entirely or partially false and not the set of hoops god wants us to jump through today.
@@whitescar2 If God changed anything after Jesus, He would have told us, as He has done each time he changed the game.
It's important to understand that humans have, and will continue to exploit God for their own gain. The church during the middle ages as you mentioned is one example.
He gave us his Word for this purpose." The reality is so much destruction has bee caused because of the immense amount of times scripture has been edited. The amount of scripture that has been omitted is a lot as well. I feel it is a shame that we cannot access God directly for clarity.
@@zipzorp8858 Are you sure he'd tell us immediately?

Is that a fact?
If there were no second chances after death, Paul would have condemned baptisms for the dead for that reason in 1 Corinthians 15:29.
In fact I concluded on the opposite which is supported by several verses:
1. (Matthew 8:3) 'and said said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.'
2. Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
3. Matthew 18:10
See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
4. Mark 10:15
5. 2 Samuel 12:23
I could go on but I hope you get it. The point is that children have an innocent view of the world and therefore are pure at heart compared to you and I. God wants individuals who have a similar child like innocence in his kingdom and he does that by sharing His Holy Spirit with those who accept him and seek his salvation.

We serve the God of another chance. As long as we draw the breath of life, there's still time to change the road you're on
Our very brief time spent on this earth cannot be compared with a sentence based on infinity.
Are you saying God is morally wrong for doing that?
There CAN BE ABSOLUTE TRUTH if God wanted to show us.
You are asking a man to tell you how others will be judged by god. This will only lead to more confusion. Read the Bible , ask god , and don’t listen to these men.
People can read and not understand. That’s why God raises teachers.
@@wlonsdale1 Yet Jesus said call no man "Rabbi" (ergo teacher) for only God is the teacher!
