Using the negative stencil of the cut out positive, is a good way to see what the people will look like… I have done this with students before in a Collage class.
YOU, are amazing. Thank you for your generosity in sharing so much information. My goal is to "let it go", and become more loose in my work. This is a challenge for me due to my past work. Thank you for so much inspiration!
That’s just it…. It is your past work….. There is a great book called The Path by Michael Puett.: What Chinese Philosophers Can Teach Us about the Good Life. So interesting, about how we often label ourselves… not thinking we were a different person then… and we can be whatever we want to be in the future…
Congratulations on your solo show, your pieces were exquisite! I would love to come to the Island sometime for your courses. Are their accommodations close by as this would require at least 1 sleep over. I reside in South Surrey.
I need to spend more time practicing in a sketchbook. I love how loose you are when painting. What was that little short brush that you used in the beginning that fit in your hand? I like that as I have some long handle brushing that I wish I would not have bought as they feel ‘In the way’ while working smaller scale.
That is a Liquitex paddle brush -1”. They have become very pricey but you can also find other brands that are similar. It is very good for blocking in.
I am not in charge as it is run through the MAC -their website says it is still in stock. shop.mcmillanartscentre.com/collections/workshops-classes/products/mac-school-art-gems-fashion-divas-painting-workshop-10am-mon-feb-12-2024

That would be awesome! There are lot’s of accommodations close by. Also a cute little Airbnb reasonably priced, hotels with kitchens too.

Hi Patt, would you recommend "gessoing" sketch book pages.....yours look so flat....or is that just the quality of your sketchbook paper? :) TY
I do not gesso mine. I use a Strathmore Mixed a media Journal.
