Being a former western express driver the ac is usually depending on the opti idle and the company kept raising the temperature for it before it kicked on
At my company, if someone declares a unit unsafe, it can't be selected in the equipment menu until a mechanic releases it. We're using electronic DVIR's and it's really cut down on the pencil whipping.

I got my CDL in 2022 but haven't made the switch over from corporate America to trucking due to a work obligation. But now that I want to get in I am hearing horror stories from just about every TH-camr out there on how bad the freight market is today. Part of me says so what, I'm not looking to lease just yet so a company driver job should be fine to begin with until I learn the ropes about trucking. But man, if trucks have issues with air conditioning that's a deal breaker. I can deal with cold, but nothing worse than sleeping in bed all sweaty and shit. Wonder if this is because of Western Express being cheap asses or a general issue in trucking? Keep the content coming!
I drive for wx 85 days now and I wondered about them remotely controlling it but I'm in Arizona it's been 110 every day and I can honestly say my ac is working good I have to use my sleeping bag at night I'm in the international LT
They’re might not be telling you the whole story 😂. I know someone that was given a 2025 freightliner brand new, not only did he messed up the truck on the outside but his dogs, yes dogs messed up the whole inside. Western now gave him the oldest truck they had on their lot that’s all banged up with no AC. To me that’s a clear sign of them telling you to go and kick rocks. Western hires people that would probably never get hired anywhere else. Might sound harsh but yes some people don’t deserve second chances.
Guys just by a portable AC put water on the tray and put it in ur fridge freezer overnight problem solved lol. Unless u dont have an inverter but u could also buy a DC to AC power converter to turn the cigarette lighter into plugs
Refuse to drive the truck the company can not force you to do anything unsafe or illegal sure send a message to dispatch DO NOT put your not sleeping well on your logs DOT WILL FRY YOU especially if you have a accident
Western express is the sorriest company I’ve ever worked for. I quit and I’m with a better company. They had the nerve to call me the other day and ask if I’m interested in coming back to work for them. Absolutely not I would rather be unemployed than work for western express.
Why are people reaching out to you from Western express when you don’t even work there.. you were telling us a month ago you were going to this new job, hauling lowboy and heavy equipment and everything . What happened to that I guess you got scared and backed out

Anybody knows that it’s good to unwind before starting a new job so they will not burn out. Besides Glenn said he really hasn’t had any hometime that much so apparently he probably has money saved up. Get your own life sir and don’t worry about Glenn if you can’t support him or say anything nice
They don't even answer basic questions. I keep asking do I need invertor for my truck to buy refrigerator. The only thing they says "we don't install it, some trucks needs, some trucks does not. Plug it in and if it goes bad pull that out". Exactly does not care about us
@@SamSAMyt259 now that is a good question depending on how many things you intend to hook up tho I’d be looking for something powerful 5000-7000 watts just to be on the safe side and that’s your personal property so you get it when ever you down with the truck and I’d say your terminal or like a loves should be able to install it iont think that would be such a hard thing to find out I wouldn’t be surprised if you could actually do it yourself due to the fact you’d be using the plugs and power outlets for plug ups
@@Qnomics western express. I use 2024 freightliner cascadia. I see a few fridge in pilot it says directly plug to 12V. But I could not make sure to buy it , I did not want to take risk. Thank you for your amswer
