      Yes! Exactly! The amount of videos which are way too long is bewildering. When I'm in the workshop I'm usually sitting there in the car all I want to do is spend 5 minutes looking something up, whenever it's a wiring diagram or an idea to repaint something like this, I just want the information asap.

    • @MichaelFlare
      @MichaelFlare  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't apply clear coat or any clear coat before the base paint. You don't need to paint both sides of the plastic since the inside is never seen but you can do it if you want. I just use normal masking tape from Walmart, nothing special. I didn't cut at all, I just ripped the tape.

      The absolute best clearcoat to use as a consumer is any 2K clear coat. It is absolutely amazing. They are expensive for a can (usually $25-35) but they are so worth it. However, I don't know if you want your interior that shiny though because it'll make any surface look like the paint finish on the outside of your car. The most popular 2K clear coat is USC Max Spray. There's several other brands too, and they're all basically similar.

      I only had these parts in my car for like 5 months because it was only a temporary thing. I had all parts replaced with all black panels.
      The parts does get scuffed up white easily and can be rubbed away with water. It's kind of like scratching your skin with your fingernail; the skin scuffs up white but when you wipe with water it goes away.

    Thanks the video! been thinking on repainting the interior of my s14, how the paint holding up?? have you experienced any peeling or flaking??

    • @MichaelFlare
      @MichaelFlare  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only did this because it was a temporarily interior look until my real black interior panels came in a few months after. I no longer have any of these pieces inside my are because it has all been swapped with the real items. During those few months of having these inside, I can tell you that it didn't chip nor flake off. However, the panels scuff very easily. It's exactly like taking your fingernail and scratching it across your arm. It turns white but when you rub it away, it will come off just like your scraped skin. The painted panels have the exact same effect.
