STUPENDOUS work!!! Fantastic results!!! The dashboard is now enhanced!!! VERY GLAD that you showed the clip on repairing scratches on the interior plastics, too!! I feel confident that I can fix my car's interior myself!! Thanks SO MUCH for posting!!!
I'm from the United States and even though I know we drive on opposite sides of the roads I still look at the cars for you guys over there and just think it looks so weird how the interior is on the other side even though it's literally the same thing lol 😆
Great job, it looks a thousand times better! One question though: How does the paint hold against touching and rubbing ? I tried painting a car key before, it didn't turn out well because the natural oil in our skin would eventually rub off the paint.
Make sure the surface is clean before working with it. Then go to your local paint store and find some plastic primer. Lay down at least 2 coats, after it dries you can spray the main color on. Follow it up with a clearcoat to protect it.
@@mr.eervianlesmana9263 can use any kind. I've used dupli-color on most of my projects and it holds up fine. Just remember to buy a can of clear coat also.

Thanks for the video. I haven't tried this but whenever I have used spray (rattle can) paint on other objects it seems to always smell for a long time afterwards. Would your car interior smell like spray paint?
Hi there, Thanks for the video, helpful as I'm trying to figure out how to spray a fascia for a stereo black... Can you get a clear coat that has a matte finish? Also, if the fascia is already painted then do I need the plastic primer? Thanks 👍🏻
you can get a set from Ebay for about 2 quid, dunno in Euro's but not that much, and yeah plastic on plastic always a winner for not marking the material you're working with. I'd feel out of order for picking at this guy's video's because he's spot on in everything he does, one blip out of many, many great video's. P.S he didn't mark anything tho did he. =confidence, which can't be taught you just have to gain experience and use your head.
What happens if I had put the paint directly without any primer or clear coat? Is there a way to fix it? To clean it and then start again? How? Thanks again!
My LR2 2008 160BHP is not compatible with the interior vent trims etc that are available for models before and after mine, so I thought I would try to paint it Chrome, Steel or Gloss black.. At least you have given me something to aim for. Good Job man.
just started this project today but rite now im removing all the a,b,c pillars cause im repainting the interior or my dodge charger. not a fan of two tone colors.
roberto0612fcb assuming the ambient temp is say “comfortable in shorts but not hot in the sun if you’re outside” 10-15 minutes. The colder it is the longer the wait. Likewise the air could could be crisp but the sun itself is warming up surfaces; that will have a different effect. Given that another good judge is when you look at the paint from a skewed angle it will look wet when it’s fresh. As it dries you will see it become matte when viewed at the angle. When everything looks matte is a good time to add another coat. The goal here is to let the surface dry enough that you next coat doesn’t wet mesh (not to be confused with bond) and cause a run.
There are several components to doing a pro job. One plan I discovered that successfully combines these is the Magic Painter Method (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful info that I have ever seen. Check out this amazing site.
Help needed. Some of the panels in my car were sprayed black by the previous owner, I'm in contact with him, a total idiot.. Turns out, he sanded them with a really strong sand paper, cleaned them with wet wipes and then sprayed them with black paint, 2 coats. No clear coat or anything. eeek... How can I reverse what they did without having to source new panels? The car is a classic, so getting panels will be quite expensive.
Does this work on textured parts of a dash? I have a crv that i've bought a ton of dark brown bits that i'd like to make black (to match the hard plastic parts that are all blacK).
Man, you were doing so good until you clear coated the over the black part that wasn't painted. You should have got some 2000 gritt and wet sanded it until all the high spots were off then sprayed it again wet Sanded it then buffed it. Would have looked so much better.
My Toyota is a different model to that one, but the silver accents at the side of the centre binnacle are how it came from the factory. Nice job!

Cool idea for a miserable day... something fun to do. Thanks for the ideas!
yeah a job for a sunday
Exactly what I was thinking for today!
Well done, man. This is the first video I've encountered that changes the paint of the car interior. You make it look so easy!

I drove JDM RHD cars for 6 years in Canada, and after a while LHD starts to look weird lol

@@scorpionwins6378 for the main color does it have to be a special interior paint, or can all spray paint be used?

How are those Hycote sprays compare in quality with the ones from Rust-Oleum?. Thanks 👌
Hello! Did it last as expected? (like, no scratches on the alu parts?) I plan to paint some stuff in my car. Thank you!

Only for as long as it off-gasses, by a week or so it’d be pretty much gone

Love your presentation well done
great vid , informative and attention to detail is very relevant nice one !!
Plastic tools for interior, you can get a decent set on Amazon for 10€ or so, you don't need to worry about breaking anything
yes i have a set, for the sake of the video i used a small screwdriver

Mad4motors did you lacquer the glove box ?
Simple, practical solutions that work - great work. Subscribed.
That dash piece doesn’t look happy to be getting clear coated!
:(
Thats just the texture of the plastic itself..
Brilliant
Awesome! Thanks!
Incredible
Great stuff lad, thanks for that, great video.
Thank you so helpful
It really bothers me that your drivers seat is on your left
Completely on the wrong side 😂
It's on the right, he's irish
Different country lol
great job
Hey Mad4Motors, I really dig ur style man.....subbed, & like how u knock out custom stuff. Not over the top ridiculous things....looks nice man!

Cheers, I would never of thought of painting the inside of the car, great job thanks

Great job. Love your vids

@@Mad4Motors_ thank you too.
Nice
may I know what kind of painy did you use sir!?
Looks much better! Well done :)
Hey thanks!
hi i might have missed the reason but why did you not clear coat the heater decals, understand why you didn't paint but not why you didn't clear coat
How long do I wait between coats
?

AMAZINGNES!!!
Good job🙂 nice video
great vid thanks, I'm doing the opposite, silver accents to matte black, the sun reflects off all the silver in the cabin into my eyes!! not good.
Ya did good kid, ya did good
nice 👍🏻👍🏻
Wouldnt the paint scratch or scuff later from people?
Shouldn’t you sand the plastic? So it sticks better
Love ur channel! Subscribed.
What kind of paint did you use
Job well done, looks 100% better!
thank you from ault saint marie canada clancy jr.
Thank You sir, i got a Toyota prado, pretty much the same interior, I'm definetly do the same
The interior looks like my 97 Toyota Camry. I totally want to change the interior from that dull Tan to a nicer color
i was curious does that car have two gear knobs?
really? the little one is the 4x4 gear knob, 2H-4H-N-4L.
it's an old" (2014 or less) Toyota Hilux. The newest has a switch to it.
looks amazing. great vid
How long did the paint last on there or is it still good
Yep still looks great
What happens when you want to clean or armor all the interior? I would think it'll remove the paint.
Paint is more durable than that, if you used a scrub brush it’d start coming off though
And I don't know the type of paint I should use ?
you shouldnt go with clear coat at the end. It is too shiny now !
Or a satin clear coat works well can't tell its a clear coat on it. I used a satin clear coat
Surely you should key the parts before priming
why not paint the vents too, or clear coat them at least?
I thought the photo said ‘candy paint’ 😄😂

Always use lacquer dye on hard plastic
What is I want to pain everything and then put back the factory indicators
Soppy woh-er or soapy wooder
Great job. What a boring dashboard before
How much dollars did that cost to fix that truck dooood?

Needs a new steering wheel
maybe yes
Are you self taught how to do this work or did u go to some type of trade school to learn
Crisfix will copy you on his next video.
Don't you need to key it up first?
Weird you didn't bother to refurbish the whole dash
bruh why u have 2 shifters
Hey Man, I would say that's his 4WD Range selector. It would be how he goes from 2WD-4WD. And the other is just a manual gear stick
Do u need to disconnect battery when dis onnevting wires
Michael Morkan no
Yes

This paint is not last longer, bad idea to do this job with spray paint
My God he's from Dublin
I want to paint my car
Can you do this with a left drivers side? Lol

Cleans it with soapy water
Black
