@@seanravine6596 oh I’m 100% sure it’s an IMX. Would just like to know which model he prefers. His opinion is a gold standard in my book. I think it’s a float rod BC model, which is cool with me.
Looks shorter, maybe a side drift model. I have the 1103-2c and it’s probably my favorite rod of all time. I have the 1086 heavy model too and I use that for heavier water and fall fish, that fishes really light too for being a heavy rated rod. Want to pick one more up, but don’t know which model. Maybe 1165 for a middle ground.
@@AZ-gs6hj I took a screen shot of later in the clip when they are in the boat and he definitely has a float IMX. Wish I could attach photos on here. Guessing the 1264, then? I’ve got three 1363 baitcasters and those are too noodlely for spoons I would think. I bet the 1264 could do 2/5’s and under, but I’ve yet to see one here in the GL’s. The 1165 Drift IMX is a very nice rod for spoons 2/5’s and up, IMO. I have two of those and two of the same blank in the Side Drift spinning configuration. Really nice all-around hardware blank.
@@fishinguns4975 You’re right it is a float model. I just saw the bobber logo on the rod. I’ll have to do some searching and either go with the 1165 or one of the float models.
With a spoon, no. That’s how you’ll get snagged on the bottom and logs. With a spoon you want the current to do the work to wiggle the spoon, when you cast upstream the spoon just falls straight down until the current brings it down.
Bill, reading an article from the Salmon Trout Steelhead, you mentioned some lures hard to find. My father-in-law used to fish a lot and he has many brand new hot shot lures and numerous other lures if your interested. I can give you his number.

Paired with 30 pound fireline crystalline white
@@osonasty2016 no leader with the spoon? Straight from line to spoon or did he attached a leader with the Fireline?
"yeah yeah I see ya"
Damn Bill your looking old! But then i went and looked in the mirror and found some old man broke into my house.
Thinking he looks like Dave Vedder now. Then realized how much time has passed since we fished together on the Skagit and Bogie...
Doesn't matter caught a fish
😂😂😂someones been listenin'
Don't you want to throw up river a bit and let it work its way down?

Sometimes, depending on the flow and situation. In this run it was better to swing and twitch.
"Ruben Estavillo (Private Fishing Guide)" - is there such a thing as a "Public Fishing Guide"?..aren't they all just fishing guides?
Ruben guides assault on the quinault. "Private" cos your fishing native land. You cannot fish certain tributaries without a native guide.
