no. She got "pulled" because it was supposed to be simon pulling her when he finds her later on in the movie, nothing to do with gravity, Also I didn't complain about the lack of blood, At all I mention it as a difference to first film certainly, I was more saying that the film has shit atmosphere because of the terrible cinematography, which Director/cinematographer andre sekula should know better, All of this I explain quite clearly in the video.
And so Wiki says the gravity was flipped. Well what do you know, Wiki... Though it was about to happen to Max when he saw Julia lying in the other room out there, he tried to go through the 'door' and hung on tight because he was about to float up or something.
Salem Baron Hi and I hope you have a nice day. Second of all, I watched that scene where Holloway and Worth tell their names to each other (Helen and David respectively), will that do? I'd love to point that scene in the movie but in TH-cam most of popular movies get either copyrighted or hilariously small sized or too fast (and that is also mentioned in the script, go Google "imsdb cube" if you don't believe me. Yeah, how foolish I was! Lol! But that first paragraph of Cube 2 synopsis was not edited into something else on its Wiki page so I doubt the "every dumbass can write something into Wikipedia and it stays until its [sic] changed" situation. I think it would have been cooler if they took the time travel portion a little bit further and ignored the parallel universe thing a bit. So in the beginning when the girl is pulled upwards by Simon that's cool. It's explains what happened in the beginning. When we see Kate through the moving wall in the background at the beginning and then we see Kate looking at herself through the moving wall on the opposite side later in the film...that's cool. I'd have loved for time to mean nothing, but have things be one dimension, so at least things get explained...not just written off as "this was in another dimension." It'd make them seeing themselves die more impactful and more consequential. Could the death be avoided? Could their own actions trying to avoid that death lead them to that death, etc. Just a thought.

Good review imo. I loved the 4D concept...but as the reviewer says the writing is appalling, almost nonsensical. Confusing the viewer just for the sake of video art is not clever...it just makes you ask why you wasted good money on it. The ending of C2 is especially badly done. The sole survivor is unceremoniously shot without a word, by the Cube’s creators/managers....why? There’s not even a clue. It leaves one feeling at best cheated. What a shame! All these cube films would be better off written with a straightforward scifi thriller feel, properly explained and better directed. The only thing that confuses the fuck out of me is the dramatic change in cinematography as soon as the blond woman gets out of the cube. Seriously, the part outside of the cube looks like something how Stanley Kubrick would frame a scene and it looks incredible but during the time they're in the cube the camera placement is horrendously bad.
I just watched Cube for the first time and wanted to see what else there was. The reason I was curious is this phenomenal series of games called Zero Escape. If you like Cube, I bet you'd love ZE. This is the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. My father made us watch it one year at Christmas, and mom and I were ready to murder him. He actually started watching the special features and that's when we snapped. One set, zero actors!
Sadly this was my first cube movie watched it when was young and borrowed it from the library, having forgotten about it after all these and just having watched your review reminded me why i didnt like it. They killed the last survivor what a punch in the gut to the viewer. Wish i had watched the first film it sounds a whole lot substantial.
I explain why at the begining of this video, but also this is a very early video of mine i don't skip films anymore so i may return to the first film at some point
I think the cinematography was thrown by set design. The bright environment makes the comparatively darker cast pop out. The lack of directional lighting and shadows throws off depth of field. The actors appear closer to the audience, while the environment appears farther away. Or at least large and spacious. I get that they wanted this to be more sleek and futuristic, but it just throws everything off.
Could u review Cube I’m curious as to what you thought. I didn’t think Cube 2 was that bad. It would have been cool if it was a little darker and had better atmosphere. Comparing the movies together I agree the First is way better but it’s far from a bad movie.
I've always been curious deusdeacon, how'd you come up with that name? I use the name "Rigor Mortis" because I mainly think its sounds cool, and it has to do with death, plus I'm a huge zombie fan. I just want to know the inspiration behind it. lol
I have watched this part first at tsci Fi Channel in my country and I like the Idea then find the first movie buy the DVD and I love the movie. But I watched the movie today and now I noticed the medical equipment and medical personnel in the redish colors
I remember liking all the cube movies. Guess I'll have to go back and re-watch and see. I was a really big fan of the first one, so I might be squed. I like pi too. Not Requiem for a dream though. Gattaca, dark city, existenz, videodrome altered states. All that nonsense, love it all. Matrix is dumb but I do like the big shoorup at the end where they murder that poor room
okay I actually watched this yesterday and I have to say I agree 100% with you now I mean wow that was a horrendous movie only thing I liked is the soundtrack u used for the image at the start I love soundtracks like that
I'm perfectly fine with a movie being unclear or confusing.... so long as it is rounded up, explained and makes sense at the end. It didn't. It was very confusing what the motive was for this cube, if anything. Sure, the first movie wasn't clear why they were in the cube either, but it wasn't necessary to know exactly what was going on because emphasis was placed on the situation itself being more important than the "why are we in here." The cleverness and realism glued it together and gave it a point. Like you said, in this one the motive was non-existent and plenty of questions were purposely introduced but none of them were answered. It was just a big ball of nonsense. Or, as you might prefer, a big tesseract of nonsense.
That's because Cube 2 is complete shit. Cube Zero is stupid but at least they have good characters(more the most part) and good effects. This has nothing
After discovering SCP I now think that these people are basically D Class personnel. Sent on missions with death being a certainty. Just as a test. Love your reviews. So much better than many “professional critics” on TH-cam.
Honestly I'm that guy who liked Hypercube, I know it's not that great, but it was the first one I saw and I was just absolutely thrilled with the novel premise, so much so that I forgave all of its many shortcomings. And if it hadn't been for this movie, no telling how long I would have had to wait to see the original.
I'm in the same boat, not to mention they really played up the worldbuilding more in this one I would have loved to learn more about the group monitoring everything.
In the other two cube movies the prisoners were in jumpsuits with their names printed on them. In this one they are in their street clothing which shows their civilian status. The colonel of course has his military suit on and Kate looks a bit like FBI. The civilian clothing is meant to exemplify the fact that they were civilian contractors. The colors of the rooms are meant to be a symbol of the Rubix cube. The tessaract is a common stonemason or new age symbol. It can also be seen in A Wrinkle In Time. The movie itself has an undertone paralleling it with MK Ultra mind control. I came to this conclusion after seeing Cube Zero and they made such a big deal about consent forms. The other two cube movies had the colored rooms and mechanical traps which triggered the prisoners in a much more animalistic level than the white cold and clinical feel of the second cube with the highly scientific traps.
Meanings, representations, visual references whether those are indeed what the film is going for (I have my doubts) mean absolutely diddly squat if the film is utter arse gravy, maybe they should've spent more time on making a good story rather then symbols for stone masonry.
eh, I was just to inform you and stuff if you didn't know they 'had' names And in the end I really liked your review for this movie, I saw it yesterday and I thought it was boring :P BTW, yes it all does add nothing to the name thing but in case you're interested, here's the original script to the sequel that was scrapped entirely in favour for the one that ended up happening: www.horrorsnotdead.com/Hypercube%28Final%20Draft%29.pdf
Nevermind. Some are surnames, some are names (like, Quentin is a name, while most of the other prisons are used as surnames). If they were adressed by names, then Worth would qualify as The Danza (David Hewlett - David Worth, Dave Johnson (a character from movie _Nothing_)...). Enough of this name offtopicness for today

cant wait for you to review the CUBE remake october 22 2021
why ? its just the first one again, from what I can tell its a shot for shot remake pretty much
Him talking about the first makes me think if they wanted to pull the call back or connecting the movies thing they could have made them only use first names and at the end during his errr "sentencing" we find out his last name is kazan
Just last night I had a dream about The Cube, about a Pre-Cube.
I just realised that there is only like 3 traps in the movie
When the whole party gets TPKed by a gelatinous cube and you don't want to end the campaign.
I dont know whats going on anymore
The only thing that confuses the fuck out of me is the dramatic change in cinematography as soon as the blond woman gets out of the cube. Seriously, the part outside of the cube looks like something how Stanley Kubrick would frame a scene and it looks incredible but during the time they're in the cube the camera placement is horrendously bad.
actually in cibe 1 they said if the y didn't move an inch theyd made it out easily so the lawyer was till nnow the smartest person in there
That was a very different installation, and its pretty obvious the one in this film did work in any kind of logical way.
eeh ur right
I just watched Cube for the first time and wanted to see what else there was. The reason I was curious is this phenomenal series of games called Zero Escape. If you like Cube, I bet you'd love ZE. It kinda baffles me that anyone would A: Think a sequel to Cube was a good idea and B: Forget everything that made the original so great.
have you reviewed the first? It doesn't seem to be on your youtube page.
He doesn't need to.
yeah but I'd still like to hear his take on it and what not.
I glanced at the script for the first Cube, and I can see why Natali didn't go with that ending. It's just sort of "meh, that's it?" kind of scene.
Literally liked this because of the intro.
Did he make a cube 1 review cuz i cant find it :(
No I didnt, I do give an explanation for that in this video too
@@deusdeaconReviews i totally commented this before watching oeps
@@deusdeaconReviews i was just really curious cuz i watched the cube review from someone els and i wanted your input about the math not adding up there
Great ass review it's clear the Saw movies was inspired but Cube the first one is always the best of course cause was to suspenseful the others are garbage I hate when you have a good movie then they trash and burn the rest of the series.
**too*
That's what I was thinking too, when I first watched _Saw II_, I was like, "This suspiciously reminds me of _Cube_."
Agreed. Just look at Hellraiser
George Bean really ? I didn't even get through saw 2 I liked saw 6 tho
Cube should be rebooted
No just leave it alone
@@Go4Bro I say remake Cube Zero not Cube 2
@@royalpain9281 Cube zero wasn't bad it just had some dumb dialogue. I did like the 1 eyed villain though. As for Cube 2 it was a piece of shit
I can't find the original review was it copyrighted?
This is a very old video, at the time for some reason i wasn't doing the first films in a series just its sequels so i never did a review of cube.
@@deusdeaconReviews thank you for the reply... If you happen to see this.... Very much enjoying your channel for the movie reviews not much of a gamer.....recent subscriber keep up the fabulous work... Love your voice! Don't forget the movies!
Ohhh yeah, I'm about to watch the 3rd one 😅
Why only review 2 and 3 but not the first?
I explain why at the begining of this video, but also this is a very early video of mine i don't skip films anymore so i may return to the first film at some point
Great video!
Why did you review this and Cube:Zero and not the original cube? I would like to see that review.
I did explain why at the start of this video
I think the cinematography was thrown by set design. The bright environment makes the comparatively darker cast pop out. The lack of directional lighting and shadows throws off depth of field. The actors appear closer to the audience, while the environment appears farther away. Or at least large and spacious. I get that they wanted this to be more sleek and futuristic, but it just throws everything off.
You'll be surprised to know that there is a game based off of this series of movies called half dead.
Could u review Cube I’m curious as to what you thought. I didn’t think Cube 2 was that bad. It would have been cool if it was a little darker and had better atmosphere. Comparing the movies together I agree the First is way better but it’s far from a bad movie.
well explained loved the commentary
Dude wheres my car plot made more sense and had better writers and actors same could be said with Gigli and downsizing
Why is it you never did a review for the first cube?
I've always been curious deusdeacon, how'd you come up with that name? I use the name "Rigor Mortis" because I mainly think its sounds cool, and it has to do with death, plus I'm a huge zombie fan. I just want to know the inspiration behind it. lol
I have watched this part first at tsci Fi Channel in my country and I like the Idea then find the first movie buy the DVD and I love the movie.
But I watched the movie today and now I noticed the medical equipment and medical personnel in the redish colors
The Cube remake comes out at the end of the year, hopefully better then the other 2 movies.
Looks to me like a almost shot for shot remake so if you’ve seen the first film its pretty irrelevant, good for the japanese audience though
Can't seem to find the review for the first movie (Cube), has it been removed?
I'm pretty sure I explain why (at the time) I decided not review the first film, in the first few minutes of this video
@@deusdeaconReviews Oh, okay. I must of missed that. Thanks.
Have you done one of these for the first one?
no I have not.
@@deusdeaconReviewshave you seen the 2021 remake?
No need its a shot for shot remake for the Japanese market, if you've seen the first one you've already seen it.
@@deusdeaconReviews it was a little different. But still yeah
@Kaian凯安 good question. Maybe I meant my opinion was off skew
Got a subscription off of this one man lol love it
"it's a lazy way to make the writer look a lot smarter than they are" daaaaaaaamn
Did you ever review the first one?
okay I actually watched this yesterday and I have to say I agree 100% with you now I mean wow that was a horrendous movie only thing I liked is the soundtrack u used for the image at the start I love soundtracks like that
I watched the first cube movie and i thought it was meh at best not good but just okay
I pref Cube Zero to Cube 2
That's because Cube 2 is complete shit. Cube Zero is stupid but at least they have good characters(more the most part) and good effects. This has nothing
After discovering SCP I now think that these people are basically D Class personnel. Sent on missions with death being a certainty. Just as a test. Love your reviews. So much better than many “professional critics” on TH-cam.
Thank you I really appreciate that
The cube zero are not stupid, can u solve the Rubik cube.....?...
Sorry fellas but this one was definitely trash
Intro song?
look at me by Die! She Said
In the other two cube movies the prisoners were in jumpsuits with their names printed on them.
IS ALEX TRASK RELATED TO BOLIVAR TRASK..?
It's Trusk not Trask.
Correct! Your reviews are great...especially on the Resident Evil bullshit...everyone has gone crazy about this silly stuff
Holloway is actually just a surname, her real name was Helen.
I'm really not sure how thats relevant at all, In the first cube film all the characters were identified, referred to and credited by there last name.
Some first names are on the Wiki page of this movie if anything.
Nice review so far btw ;)
Again I'm just trying to understand how thats relevant to any of the points I made about names ?
eh, I was just to inform you and stuff if you didn't know they 'had' names
And in the end I really liked your review for this movie, I saw it yesterday and I thought it was boring :P BTW, yes it all does add nothing to the name thing but in case you're interested, here's the original script to the sequel that was scrapped entirely in favour for the one that ended up happening: www.horrorsnotdead.com/Hypercube%28Final%20Draft%29.pdf
Nevermind. Some are surnames, some are names (like, Quentin is a name, while most of the other prisons are used as surnames). If they were adressed by names, then Worth would qualify as The Danza (David Hewlett - David Worth, Dave Johnson (a character from movie _Nothing_)...).
Enough of this name offtopicness for today
do you have any plans reviewing the original cube? The only reason i watched it in the first place was because of this review back in the blip days, and i am glad i did!
If you have netflix i would highly recommend watching The Platform
a soanish movie that is more of a spiritual successor of cube than this movie
seriously it is such a good movie
Oh yea the one was pretty unique.
