Mine is fine. I ordered one then I saw this video and got concerned. It arrived today. It works fine. I didn’t have to do a firmware update. I was able to load toneprints from my iPhone. They sound good. I tried the box in front of my amp and in the loop and both sound good. I was able to figure out how to use it. I think the guy who did this video got way too hung up on whether the exact operations matched every word of the marketing copy. You kind of have to face the fact that guitar pedal documentation sucks across the industry. As usual, I ignored the docs and just fiddled with the thing for an hour until I could make it do everything it can do. I like it. Guys that buy music gear and then use it for 2 minutes and send it back are raising the cost of products for all of us.
Get this, i was shipped a replacement unit and BT works flawlessly. Even weirder, it now works flawlessly on the unit that had issues as well. Im at a loss.
I just got mine today. A firmware update was available. A/B works on all slots if you choose to turn it on. I have not tried to import a tone print or customize one yet.
I had connectivity issues. Other issues too that were similar to yours. Very strange that the Artist presets aren't editable. I think I was able to save them to the pedal, but unable to edit them to my needs..wtf? Kind of a bummer but for the price, I'll definitley find a use for it. Love the mash function and the small pedal format.
That’s usually what happens with the first models. It’s like showing up to a party at 9 45 when the Flyers said 10 PM. Too early to the party. Pretty sure all of this will be cleared up on the next firmware update. To be honest you’re getting a lot for a very low cost. Patience is a virtue.
@@EdPettersen the point is, is to be expected with anything that’s brand new and hasn’t been out to the public long enough to get adjusted. Thats why firmware’s exist. You are right though, it is your money.
Yep, all true. I'm having the exact same issue, had to get the update from tech support too but mine doesn't work on any of my devices. So I can only play stock pedals no app available... 😠
I haven't gotten mine yet, but I hope it does the simple thing in my acoustic board i need it to. I dont expect much from inexpensive pedals that do everything, but it'll do what i need.

@@EdPettersen That's a malware infested link, that no legitimate corporation with a WEBSITE would use. If TC sent you that link, call your lawyer, as it's fraud, and against their own TOS.
I'm building a new effects board for my self and there was a contious decision to not include any multi efects pedals, they supposed to make your life easier but sometimes they are just uninspiring and frustrating.
I watched a comparison video between this and the HX One. I thought the HX One sounded better and was easier to use. However I still thought that both were just not quite there yet.
All pedals have bugs. The Hx One for example has had issues and is still noisy. I have tried two and returned both. I will give Tc time to update these. I think too that we are expecting a lot for how affordable this pedal is. I just want it for having the ability to use different effects which are already on the pedal.
It will be interesting to see how quickly they address the issues. I personally think my pedal is wiggy so that was enough to return it for now. IMO it definitely wasn't 100% right.
@@scottmoreau5630 No need to get defensive. I was sharing my experience. This is a public forum. Chill out buddy. If its noisy for you there could be dozens of reasons, and the hx one is not considered noisy by myself and most of the line 6 community from what I have read on forums, FB groups etc.

The problems still exist. There is currently no X1 selection on the latest update of the toneprint app for either PC or phone. I doubt this is going to happen anytime soon being Xmas. Hey ho
Yeah, it's pretty dumb, frankly. Like I said, it only connects with my laptop, not my more powerful production desktop, after the firmware update and not all of the Toneprints are visible. What a mess.
The AB stuff is misunderstood by you tbh. All slots are filled but the AB switch is not enabled in all slots. You have to change the switch. Manual is clear

I ordered mine about a week ago and was so excited but after seeing all these comments, I rather return it the moment I receive it. I for sure don't have the time to be dealing with these headaches from a premature release. I'm surprised TC would burn themselves like this. I have other products of theirs and they're great. Who knows what happened here....

Im honestly embarrased to be a fan of TC now. Mine actually arrived broken! The nut on the underside of the footswitch wasnt tightened and the whole switch fell out! Horrible qc and tdch support.
You got it before release chill Other reviews didn’t have access to the app yet Could it be better out the box? Sure but I doubt these issues will be a problem in a few weeks when they release (like getting the update, and TonePrint issues) I’d be more worried about physical defects with the unit itself or problems with the user interface. You have to set the toggle to ab on each, this is literally a non issue You just don’t know how to use half of it yet

I'm glad i didn't buy this pedal.... I'm thinking that the Zoom MS-70CDR Plus, might be a better purchase. The MS-70CDR Plus is even cheaper than the Plethora X1, but the Zoom can do more effects per preset (yes, it does have loads of presets & is possible to have MIDI PC recallable via a USB To Host device ....). Just my own personal 2 cents...
Everything Ed is saying is true. I got this pedal yesterday and it’s been an absolute nightmare. App says it’s connected, but it actually does not show up. I’m going to see if I can find the firmware update and, if that doesn’t fix it, it’s going back and being replaced with an HX One or a Zoom CDR70+.

I am frustrated with mine, too. What I can‘t do is use mash mode or other footswitch modes when I am on the B slot. Did you have more luck with that?

I have this pedal, and have used both the Asto verb and the Sigur Rós Reverb tone prints that you mention with this pedal.

Mobius is pretty great apart from the fact one is restricted to one preset.

HX one is not noisy. I have one. something in your setup is off/user error.
