There is a Harmony Mohini Dey patch that will not save no matter what I do. Bluetooth won't connect to iOS that and the very loud screechy foot switch have been the biggest problems. I applied hair clipper oil to lube the foot switch and finally it stopped making that awful noise. Not sure if I should have just returned it.
I had the same issues that you had, here is what I did to make the apps work for me. Unfortunately, I still can't edit and save any of the toneprints but I can load any toneprint I want onto the pedal. For my Ipad, the bluetooth connection worked from the start. For my android phone I got the same error messages you did so I used a USB-C cable to connect and everything started working. For PC I already had the Toneprint software installed for my Flashback II so what I had to do was completely delete the old Toneprint software and Toneprint files then reinstall the newest version of the Toneprint software. With a USB-C cable connected, everthing started working. Hopefully, there will be a software fix in the near future to allow us to edit/save our own Toneprints. I think the pedal sounds great and for me it is much easier to use than the HX One.
Great, thanks for that great, sane input. I'll try the USB-C with my phone next (rather than Bluetooth which also failed) but I did install the latest Toneprint app on my PC to no avail. Yeah, let's hope they fix it soon for everybody. Otherwise, and I don't want to come across too cynical here, it comes across as a massive holiday money grab and we're the guinea pigs, ya' know?
@@EdPettersen On the PC I did a search on my hard drive in Windows Explorer for the word "Toneprint". After the search was complete I deleted everything with the name "Toneprint" attached to it. After that the software worked great. I have Windows 10 on my PC. I expected lots of bugs since this a new digital pedal. I bought it because the price was 129 here in the USA. After Christmas I expect the price to go back to 179.
Odd. I’ve had no success with any of my iOS devices. PC connected fine via cable. Chromebook connected fine via Bluetooth. I really need it to work on iOS and iPad OS.
Thx everyone and of course Ed. This is one of only two channels I trust for gear purchases. I am still waiting to replace my M9 and this was on the list. I am not in a big hurry and I don't tho k is quite ready yet. Especially for someone who isn't familiar with all the little work around explained in the previous post. It should work the way it says in the manual and the manual should be clear. If I am going to do r and d for the company then I should get free pedals to do my work on like the company guys do.

@EdPettersen hey mate, I’d gotten through your video of a few days ago and now halfway through this one. I’m sat down tonight with the X1, and have yet to update my firmware on the pedal, can you please repost the link ? I have been able to connect via usb on my Mac using the updated toneprint app, and I did a full download of the x1 toneprints in the cog area , it’s about halfway down the screen. Via Mac I was able to load the Sigur Ros reverb, looks like an old print from 11 years ago where he plays the guitar with a bow ? Anyway that stuff is working. I’ve fiddled pretty much blind for 30 mins and believe I have figured the changing AB mash, momentary etc stuff so able to get two prints per board. I need to finish up this video but wanted to jump in and tell you I hear you man. People need to really chill out and go the distance fully viewing videos. This isn’t likely to happen but keep the faith bud. Will see you around in the x5 chats. I host the Facebook group for the x1,x3,x5 owners, if you’re not on Facebook join up for that, we don’t usually have troll issues over there and it’s a lot more multimedia than being Stuck with these text only comments of limited length. - Alec
@EdPettersen bummer, the file has already been removed and link expired now. No worries, happy Christmas man, hope all your stuff arrived and welcome to London, my old stomping ground before I moved to Italy
@@EdPettersen nah I mean these links are usually time based and expire or they’d be filling their servers up with files. I’ve got my first ever ticket logged into the music tribe site, will see how that goes. Been hooking up gear since yesterday afternoon so a lot of little errands to do but it’s going good 👍 I noticed you have a white or metal helix floor already set up under your glass table ? Good looking setup. I pretty much only ever do video shoots via my iPad Pro, gotta put some time into a dual camera setup if that’s possible just using mobile gear. I tend to avoid extensive time on the computer due to back issues, it’s changed my entire workflow to be more mobile and avoiding heavy weights. You know it’d be cool if you can document your rebuilding up your studio space and video setup. Small independent channels for enthusiasts and us all combining knowledge via groups is really nice. Hope to see you in the Facebook group.
@AlecBourneMidiMadScientist Cool, will do. Great idea. Yeah, that a "limited edition" silver Helix but it cost less than the regular model. Go figure. A huge help for my back issues in this new setup is the sit/stand desk. Absolutely fabulous. I'm never going back the other way. When I do 2-camera stuff, I usually use a Zoom HD I bought cheap and my phone as the second camera. Works great.
I made a critical comment on your last video, I’m not from TC, just a dude in the US still waiting for my order to be fulfilled because all of the major retailers still don’t have these available. You somehow got your hands on one even before most TH-cam streamers have. The main problem with your last video is that you were confused about how to use the pedal, it is clearly demonstrated how to do so in the videos that are available As for the app, again, you are seeming to be using the pedal before ANYONE ELSE. It’s not that the app doesn’t have problems, we believe you, it’s just that you are one of very few people with this device. I get the impression the Andertons sold this early to you when they shouldn’t have. Again not an available anywhere else, and outside of a sweetwater demo and one of their streamer NO ONE HAS IT. So the criticism is that you are upset about the app when it appears that it hasn’t really been fully launched. Sweetwater stated in their video the app wasn’t available at the time of recording I would say this is like when GameStop sell a copy of a video game ahead of release, and then you (the buyer) complains the game doesn’t work right because the servers aren’t working. 99% positive Andertons sold this to you when they were supposed to wait. TC likely scrambling to get the app online (last minute and obviously deserving of criticism) but I think if you were to use this device in January when it’s supposed to be available you would have a much different experience. But don’t call people trolls just for being critical of you, when clearly you are one of very few people to have their hands on it, and the things you are complaining about (some not all) are things that other people clearly demonstrated as working, and it seems as though you have made great leaps in your claims of false advertising on the part of TC. Again just a dude in the US waiting for my pedal to ship because it’s still not available at sweetwater, or guitar center, or reverb, or Amazon, it’s not available!!!
@KalvinB-y5s I called you a troll because you didn't watch the video and commented on something on which you were misinformed. I knew how the pedal SHOULD work. The issue was their tech support didn't. I hope you get the pedal and you don't have any issues. Oh, and if you read the comments on my last video and this one you'd see that quite a few people have the pedal already and are also having issues. Good luck.
I’m also a dude in the US (NYC) and got my hands one thru Guitar Center. My experience has been very similarly broken. Thankfully, connection via PC and android seems ok. iOS connectivity is nonexistent. Regarding the the Sweetwater video about them saying that the app wasn’t available, I’m not sure if you stopped the video immediately after this was mentioned, but they inserted a clip in post-edit saying that it was 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t know if retail outlets released it early like you’re saying, but that doesn’t seem likely. There are a handful of real (non-TH-camrs…regular folk) videos about this pedal that share a similar frustration. I think TC just has some work to do to deliver a complete experience.
Between the trolls and the unfair censorship, I'm spending less time on social media in general. As for TC, if they are not being honest about accessing tone prints, that is bad because that alone would be a big selling point for me.
Man, you are so impatient with this product. I just checked and there IS a Mimic doubler in the app now. It’s 2024, this is how digital pedals are released these days. Firmware updates for a few weeks or months til they get it all right. Jesus, man. Calm down. This is a good pedal, or at least it will be soon.
I'm sure it will get sorted but right now its a big disappointment as I arranged to get mine in time for my current days off. The people who have reviewed it online have been paid and obviously demoing with the Beta version of the firmware... well i'm fed up playing with it now so its going out of sight until the New Year.
