    I recently had surgery and had all this dog and cat fur stuck in the Velcro of the back brace, the first time I tried getting fur out with a needle and it took forever.. Your trick had it done in minutes, I'm so grateful you made this video. It would have been so expensive to replace a brace like this, thank you so much!!

    Love that you get right to it. Short and sweet, even with the ‘complex’ illustration. Even better, it’s effective.

    Thank you for sharing this because this is the second pair of gym shoes with velcro strap and I'm tired of wasting over $100! I wish I would have known this sooner but I didn't know you could clean Velcro so I just threw his shoes away. 👊🏾

    Awesome video! I use a lot of industrial strength velcro in my home recording studio to keep cables and devises organized on a wall and beyond etc. spent over a $100 the past few years at the fabric store on this stuff. This video just saved me... THANKS!

    I did not look at any complex diagram mentioned in the other comments… I listened to you from afar. I got an old comb like you said, and I went to work on the Velcro that was on my Robo vacuum that has the mop attachment. There was so much cat hair and my hair stuck in the wheels and on the Velcro! The black comb works really good and then pulled out large pieces with my fingers and my hand held vacuum to vacuum it up and pull out what I could with tweezers. Thanks for the advice and the lint brush did not help much. But it was a clean job!

    Thanks a lot man. Worked like a charm. I am shocked at two things. How much lint I accrued just like you said and how clean the Velcro got. Usually with my weight belt for my back that means I have to throw them out. Now all I have to do is use a $.50 comb and lint brushes I already have!! Thanks a lot

    Niiiccceee! Thanks for this - I wear AFO's equipped with Velcro straps and here in mid-Michigan during the winter knee-length socks and the inside of jeans really present a problem. This will help tremendously. Now, if you can give me the solution to using something other than Velcro straps for AFO's that will function appropriately - hallelujiah! 😀

    You can also use a dog wire fine brush. Also tooth brush, I dit the comb and dog brush. I did not have to use tape. I was going to try a regular fabric lint brush after I do some on the debris to top surface. I could just pick out with fingers or a tweezer. Mine was a tripping hazard. My brace strap would come undone without me knowing and lucky did not fall.
    Common sense. Just keep the Velcro pieces together when not in use. Or get an extra piece to cover!

    Thanks for sharing the idea! I like your complex illustration! It would have been great to have the illustration animated to get a feel of the dynamics!!! Lol! Seriously, I like when people take care of stuff they have. To renew their effectiveness, not just throwing away stuff and buying new. Getting stuff repaired is a craft and requires patience.

    I find that a small (i.e., toothbrush-sized) wire-bristled brush works even better and faster; just go very lightly/gently.

  • @YLLEKEVETS
    @YLLEKEVETS ปีที่แล้ว

    Any small wire brush works great. A brush from a gun cleaning kit will work and that’s obviously depending on how big the area is. No need for the lint roller just scrape the Velcro over a garbage can and voilà.

    When I was younger and velcro first came out on shoes there was a little tool that was sold to clean the velcro. You would roll it over the velcro and it would pick out the stuff. But I don't know if the velcro back then is the same as the velcro now. 👵

      The velcro is the same, but corporate greed and capitalist invention of Planned Obsolescence got in the way of us keeping nice things. Why give us a way to fix it when they can exploit us by making us buy new stuff and line their pockets more?

    To clean the hook side of hook-and-loop tape, might I suggest using an extra piece of hook tape? Make sure you won't need it for another use, because you'll be moving that detritus from the old, linty hook tape to your new, clean, extra hook tape. The best to use is some of the heavy-duty type. It will make cleaning the hook tape so much easier than any other method I've found!

      You remind me of the cartoon of two fish talking, one of them wearing eyeglasses: "Look!" said the one. "I was just swimming along and these glasses landed right on my face! Isn't that something?" The other fish: "Yes, but are they your prescription?" You, Timothy, have made your joyless remark on at least two videos that offer solutions to a problem. Now, YOU go and find a solution to a problem, won't you? Unlike you, we will be encouraging and applaud you when you do.
