    TY! I just purchased this same flooring for DIY. It looks just as great as I imagined! Thank you also for your witness and profession as a follower of Jesus. Amen Brother! Be blessed!

    Great job! I did my bathroom with the Shadow Hickory which turned out incredible, but changed my mind to do something lighter for the entire place.
    I'm still in a quandary over two color choices to do the remainder of my home. My plan is to install under the stove and fridge? Did you do the same?
    BTW, I agree that scoring and snapping this product is not so "cut and dry". If you do, you need to score it several times, even with a fresh blade.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Good video...was hesitant about DYI. Now I’m going to try in a laundry room 1st...test run. And for the record, the Lord is relevant in our life. Some don’t realize it till later in life. Keep up the good work, in both areas. 🙏

    Installed with spacers around the baseboards?? How did that seem like a good idea?

    • @resurrectionauto670
      @resurrectionauto670  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. It is a floating floor. The corner round covers the gap at the base board. Make sense?

    Just installed lifeproof in my home.. different color.pattern, but same product. If you lightly tap the edge away from its seam on the stort side.. tap in the long side first, then come back and hit the short side with your rubber mallet to push those edges together you can avoid those issues where the short side has a seam that can be felt with by running your finger over it, instead you will get a smooth seam every time. Decent product but it can be scratched so get those sliders pads on your stools, chairs and tables :), and while you can score and snap with a razor, I personally prefer table say for ripping and just running my oscillating tool over a marked line for short side cuts.

    Just returned our entire purchase after installing just two boxes. My brother and I did his entire 2nd floor of his split level with another manufacturer. He chose Home Depot LifeProof because the price was great and they had the grey tone he WS looking for. The tiles did not click in well and the tabs kept breaking off. We followed the instructions to the letter and the floor was level. It also appears that the product would scratch easily. Hope you have better luck than we did. ☺️

    • @itsmeeepmeeep
      @itsmeeepmeeep 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We bought that originally because we were also going back and forth between the two but ended up choosing fresh oak. The essential oak is a shade darker with more red tones. The easy oak just looks fresher, imo.

  • @Btimesthreee

    Ok not trying to be "that guy", but you shouldn't have done quarter round. If you remove the baseboard trim, you can use a spacer against the wall and then cover the gap with the trim. It looks much cleaner. Also it's much easier to score and snap this stuff than to cut it, and you won't risk getting fiberglass everywhere or exposing harmful dust and debris. Glad you're doing it yourself though.

    • @resurrectionauto670

    As you know the devil is usually in the details. Do you know how thick the wear layer is on this product? Looked at Home Depot and it is not listed on the boxes. I understand from people in the business that that is VERY important for a long lasting scratch resistant product. It seems that 5mils is sort of on the low end while 20mils is usually considered commercial grade. I've been told to get as close to 20mils as your budget allows.
