I love your channel and your work. I just got started with the X-H2s, and love the challenge . I think photography is a journey, and can’t wait to see where it leads me.
Thank you so much for your kind words! The X-H2S is a fantastic camera, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the challenge. Photography really is a beautiful long journey , I see it exactly the same way 😌
Hi, I really enjoy your videos and the natural style in which you produce them. This is the genuine and honest photography content that's needed in a vast sea of clickbait trash that's out there.
Like the masters say: photography is 99% failure. About negative comments. I have a channel myself, not this one. My recommendation would be, try to shift your perception. Every bad comment is good for you. It's engagement and the algorithm likes engagement. It doesn't care about if they are stupid, mean or good and friendly. It helped me a little to get over mean comments. Love your content. Found you today, subscribed and now I'm binging your videos. Thank you for your good work 🙏🙏🙏
Love your presenting style and thanks for sharing your thoughts. The longer you use your Q3 the cheaper it becomes! Also you won’t waste money in gear acquisition syndrome because you have gone straight to the top!! Enjoy and please keep sharing
Thank you so much for your kind words! You’re absolutely right, investing in the Q3 feels more and more worth it over time.. I truly appreciate your support and encouragement. I’ll definitely keep sharing!❤️
I started street photography with the Ricoh GRII, sold that for the X100V which still own but I also bought the Q3 last year. I'm thinking exactly the same as you do. The Q3 is so good. Also the workflow on the Leica is second to none.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, what works for 1 person doesn't mean it applies to all. I love photography mainly for the joy of getting outside and shooting pictures of things I find interesting, and believe me, I've taken tons of bad pictures. By doing so, It has allowed me to learn from my mistakes, after all, no one is perfect. From watching your channel, I've gotten better at using my Leica Q3, which will also apply to my Q3-43 when it eventually arrive, I love your channel, keep up the GREAT work, it's going to fun to see your subscriber base grow. And for those who say they've never taken a bad shot on an expensive Camera, I would have to find that hard to believe.
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment my friend! I completely agree , photography is all about learning, experimenting, and finding joy in the process, even when things don’t turn out perfectly.. It’s amazing for me to hear that this channel has helped you with your Leica Q3, and I’m so excited for you to get the Q3-43 when it arrives! Thank you for your kind words and support - it's truly means a lot to me!!
Don’t be sad for a negative comment. Doesn’t matter what camera you use, everyone takes bad photos because it’s the process to fail and learn. I can take photos only for document my life or for have a memorie of a date or a place and I’m sure that it not will be a bad photos, in the other hand if I do streetphotography and I’m trying some thecnique or some kind of photo during the process to try and learn it will be normal take bad photos because I wil be learning. Bad o good photos is a subjective vision and it depends of the context. Don’t worry about it. Great content and as always very interesting thoughts. Keep it up! (Sorry for my english I am learning and I don’t want to use a translator)😅
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment my friend! I completely agree, photography is all about the process of learning and growing, and every photo, good or bad, has its value.. Your perspective is so inspiring, and I truly appreciate your support! Also, my English is also not the greatest 😅 no need to apologize. Keep enjoying the journey of photography!❤️
Hi ,enjoyed your video and your enjoyment of photography. May I ask , with iPhones do you find that you have to make any changes to get more natural results, or do you shoot RAW and edit them ?
Hi 😊 with my iPhone photos that I like, I always edit them with my Lightroom presets because it's a fast way to get more nice results (on my taste personally) and I gave it a lot of thought for this to work on different types of photos.. Thank you for the question and the comment!!
Thank you so much for another great video. in fact it rang a lot - say at least three - (street photography) bells for me. I moved to the Q3 after 4 years with the Q2. I - sometimes - use the GRIII that i acquired alongside the Q2. I used the Fujifilm X-E4 for a year or so and sold it. All in all the Leica is my favorite in terms of image quality, handling, flexibility (sensor size!) and more important still: touch and feel. And inspiration. Probably the Q3 mindset you mentioned in the video.
Thank you so much for this comment my dear friend, as always! It’s great to hear how much you’re enjoying the Q3 and how it keeps inspiring you. Your support truly means the world to me! Have a beautiful weekend ☺️
While I know nothing about the Fujifilm or Ricoh,I agree 100%. I have been in the Nikon system for years and recently bought mirrorless and loved what I was achieving in my images. But then I went on a workshop and had to carry that kit around and my old back just didn't like the weight and many photographers I was with were using the Q3 and raved about it and I saw some of their images that were amazing. So I bought the Q3 a month or so ago and just LOVE it. I had also purchased the Zf about 6 months ago (similar to Fujifile I think) and that is what started my search for simple/small/light/high quality/prime lens cameras. The Q's fit that perfectly for me. It has allowed me to slow down and enjoy the art of photography again. The images out of the Q's are just magically. I'm a Q shooter for life! I'm keeping the Zf to use with my kit of Z lenses, but my Q's are my EDC kit.
Thank you so much for this comment! I completely relate to what you said about the Q3. I always loved the Nikon system cameras (I had my first camera (a DSLR many years ago and I loved it), and I hope in the future I'll add a mirrorless Nikon to my collection ☺️ Thank you again for sharing here, it means a lot to me!
No one is perfect. People learn from mistakes. We learn new things everyday. Bad critics is good and we must get used to such negative comments. You are doing really good at photography. Keep sharing I still use q2
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment on this video! I completely agree that learning to accept criticism is so important, and I truly hope to keep improving over time. Your encouragement truly means a lot to me.. Have a beautiful week!😊
Great review! I have the X100v but I never use it for street photography. I use it on professional portrait shoots where I don’t want a bigger body and for family shoots where kids may be scared of a bigger camera. I also shoot with a Nikon Zf. I like the 28mm focal length for street and travel but I prefer the 35 for closer portraits. All of these cameras are amazing. This video make me think I need a 28mm in my life.
I would love to won a Leica one day but so far, the price tag is not justified for me. Maybe if they build a smaller version of the Q system, hybrid viewfinder and have an internal memory with better IBIS in few years time..
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I completely agree, the best gear is the one that brings you joy and keeps you inspired..I'm so happy to hear you like the videos ❤️😊
I wouldn't think too much about random negative comments. You obviously have fun with your camera(s), with fine results. I have a Q2, very expensive compared to my older Canon gear individually (but not in summary -> Ftb, AE1, 350d, 77d, a bunch of PowerShots). I like the results I get with the Q2. I have no regrets buying it. It's not every photo that's great, but I also try to find out what works and what not. Maybe 5% are good. Finding these 5% is the goal... Anyway, I can relate to your reasoning.
Leicas simplify the process compared to fuji: 1) DNG files 2)28mm @ 60mp for cropping 3)no film sims, so do look in post 4)simplified menu. But… Leica’s blown highlights lost me. Fuji’s dr400 mode gives 3-5 stops of highlight retention. So it was fuji for me. Thx for sharing!!!😊
Thank you so much for your comment! You summed it up so well, and I completely agree with your points. I’ve also noticed the issue with blown highlights on Leica, so I usually shoot slightly underexposed to work around it. That said, I totally understand why Fuji’s DR400 mode would be a big advantage, it’s a great feature for retaining highlights. Tnx again! ☺️
@ yes! I shoot events and street, so the unpredictability of the scene can be overcome by fuji’s extended dynamic range. I also use the film curves to create filmic rolloffs. Canon, nikon and sony have a similar mode to retain highlights. Its all software so leica should adopt it as well. I live in both leica and fuji worlds because I shoot a fuji xt3 with a summilux 50mm! Thats the best of both worlds!!!
Camera comparisons are always hard to do as it often boils down to personal perspectives. All three of these camera’s are great but would agree with you that the Leica Q3 is something very special. As you say it is all about the person holding the camera wether they get a good photograph or not and not so much about the camera itself. However camera’s can inspire you to want to go out and shoot more and in that way you become a better photographer. I also think it is good for photographers not only to show what they feel is there best work but also images that they may feel are not as good. No-one is perfect and all photographers take lots of photographs and only end up with a few great ones. Plus what one person thinks is a great shot another may disagree. The most important is that you enjoy using the camera you have, choose the photographs you think are the best and just let the critics be critics.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts my dear friend! I completely agree, it’s not just about the camera but how it inspires you to go out and create. It’s true that every photographer takes plenty of shots to get just a few great ones, and that’s part of the beauty of the process☺️ I truly appreciate so much your perspective and your support.. it means a lot to me!
It's a puzzle to me why people are so opinionated about what cameras other people buy/use. If I choose to drive a mercedes, do people go out of their way to explain that i should have gotten a honda? I just hesitate, cuz I wonder if I'll change my mind and want to use one again. So far, no. We have no responsibility to justify our decisions to other people. I'm not telling them what camera they have to buy/not buy. Also, totally agree with you that if you're doing something that you enjoy, it's totally fine that the "product" is secondary. Well said! Photography is such a personal journey, and the tools we use should reflect our own preferences and needs, not anyone else’s opinions. I really tried in the video just to share my personal experience with those cameras and not say "you should buy this one..". Thank you for the comment! ☺️

Hi friend! Thanks for this video, it's interesting and I agree with you that many times the camera you use also motivates you. When I need quality I use my Nikon Zf but normally I carry the Leica Dlux8 in my pocket. I hope one day to have a Q3. Hugs!
Thank you so much for your comment my friend! The Leica Dlux8 is such a fantastic camera - compact yet so powerful. I’m sure you’re capturing amazing moments with it. Hope you get to enjoy the Q3 soon!

You didn’t talk anything substantial about the Leica though.
Leica lenses are certainly special, and the reason why people buy into them. The fact that Q3 lens has both physical aperture ring and a focus ring with depth of field markings is just something “out of this world”.
That said, As far as sensors are concerned, they are just last gen Sony sensors with some preparatory Lica colour profiling.
Lastly, if you are cropping that much, probably should just buy a Zoom lens on an interchangeable lens system. Another option is to go for something like a GRiiix and then use a 1.5x tele-converter and get to 75mm equivalent.
