  • Been driving half across the country in search of parts. Picked up my replacement front axle from Matt Evans near Newark, if you need Lucas starters, dynamos or Ferguson parts, he finds and fixes and sells. His details are in a post I published last week.
    Then a bit further to Catterick to get something else where I make a very pleasing discovery.

      It's always good to find unusual parts, two lots in one go!
      Thanks for watching.

    There are many setbacks regarding classic tractor ownership/repairs but I agree money always seems to be the biggest...👍

      Oh yes, I am going to give a breakdown of costs as I do the 175 to give people a realistic idea of what it actually costs to do it compared with what the thing is worth at the end. I don't want to frighten people off, just help them go in with their eyes open.

      I was passing anyway on my way to Maryport so it made sense to call in.
      I have many happy memories of ,2000 series tractors, my brother and I both had 2720s with consecutive serial numbers, mine was in Berkshire and his in Lincolnshire.

      It's one of the tidiest 2680s I have seen for years. Really been looked after. Glad you're enjoying the videos.

    Looks like you have managed to acquire some great parts for the 175 - looking forward to the day she is completed!

      The only really hard bit to find now is the front wheels, the rest should be fairly easy. I hope...
      Thanks for watching.

    That is a lovely 2680 and the others tucked away alongside it. The Hurlimann, not much about them on the web compared to ther brands. Short but sweet this video young man!

      Glad you enjoyed it.
      Those Hurlimann tractors are now made by SDF and the smaller models are pretty well identical to the equivalent Deutz. Not bad tractors.

      Mine too, wasn't expecting that. It's so clean, one owner from new and US made, not a French one.

    Progress of the quest for finding spares for the resurrection of the 175 is coming along nicely Mr Fud-Weasel well-done 👍, especially finding the near Impossible to find front axle (mission accomplished), question (if you don't mind answering), what is the plan of strategy, try and find the hardest parts first or work away from the front to back or vise versa ? Thank you for the video.🙂

      As with so much of my life, I don't have that much of a plan. I was just going to strip it right down, getting everything sandblasted and primed and replacing the bits that are beyond repair. That's it I'm afraid. Having said that, I'll probably do the top cover first on this one because lots of people are wanting to see the final part of the Hydraulic Horrors series. Thanks for watching.

    Interesting road trip and obviously very successful, looking forward to seeing progress on the 175. By the by that 2680 sounded good, is one on your shopping list in the future?

    I would think that PAVT wheels are very nearly impossible to find for any tractor?
    In the fifty odd years since I first stepped onto a tractor, I think I've only ever seen one equipped with PAVTs.

    • @ClarenceFudWeasel
      @ClarenceFudWeasel  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are getting very hard to find and very expensive. A lot of people dumped them a few years back when scrap prices were high, others swapped them out because they made the tractor too heavy to tow behind a car to get to shows. I was lucky to find these. They aren't off a Massey, so although the bolt pattern is correct, the spigot hole is too small, but I will machine that out.
      Thanks for watching.

    Not easy to find parts for a 40+ year old tractor. I've been fortunate when looking & if the color is the more common red or green, the search is generally more fruitful. 🇺🇸🗽🚜💯 My old red girl Built in the UK, Doncaster, not positive❓

    • @ClarenceFudWeasel
      @ClarenceFudWeasel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      !00 series parts for most other models are not too hard to find because there were so many of them made and they shared so many parts too, but the 175 here in the UK had a short production run before being replaced by the 178 and had more in common with the 65 than the 165 are getting harder to source, especially the front end and steering.
      These were made in Coventry, Doncaster was IH. Thanks for watching.

    That was a really nice tidy farm you visited. I like that big Massey 2680 and not many 2wd about. But what was the blue tractor on the left?
    The wheels look in really good

    • @ClarenceFudWeasel
      @ClarenceFudWeasel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Apparently that 2680 was one of a small batch of US made ones that was shipped over for evaluation and disposed of through the dealer network. There was a blue and orange major in the shed too.
      Thanks for watching
