Enjoyed the interview. A few years ago I needed massive dental work, was quoted $5,500 in USA. Went to Lviv where the dentist did a very good job over two days and charged me $528. Ukraine has an Old World feel that I love.

I had 1 tooth pulled and replaced with an implant, 8 root canals and 25 crowns. The best South Korean technology and materials available. Great service modern and clean clinic. All the dentists were Ukrainian and all under 40 years old. Cost me about $15,000 which is, I know, more expensive than most Ukrainian dentists. But I wanted the best and what I got was way better than what I would have gotten in the USA at $4000 a tooth. 26x$4000 = $104,000

@@sonychiba4733 What is really sad is that for an excessive price in the USA you get a Pakistani dentist You have no idea whether that dentist is qualified and you probably should not look too closely at the cleanliness of the office. My Ukrainian dentist's office was always spotless, the dentist spoke reasonable English and service and care and billing were always perfect.

Thats why when you retire you need to evaluate the country geopolitics, military risk, high criminality risk and security risk
All ex soviet countries, middle east, africa, most of latin america and most of east europe i wouldnt establish myself there even if i get a dream house for cheap price
Cause you dont want in 5 10 15 20 25 years to be in country torned by war or very high out of control criminality
Even east asia is a risk. I wouldnt retire in south korea japan taiwan cause if things do get crazy with china/north korea/eastern russia you gonna have to leave
I had a friend who wanted to retire in Odessa oblast, ukraine back in 2019. He had possibility for 200 000 euros to get a big mansion near beach. With pool, garden, sea view
I told him dont go there. Slavic culture is way too much proud into military things, there is a war going in donesk luhansk. Crimea was annexed. Russia is scared ukraine join nato and might react badly. At first he thought i was paranoid and crazy and wasnt sure if he should listen to me. Now he thank me everydays 😂

You know, I used to have a certain impression of Slavic peoples, men in particular, and although there may be a degree of truth to that initial impression, in some regards, I've come to realize that overall they're actually much more in line with my own personality type than I ever would have realized. They have a straightforwardness and logicality about them, while still retaining a degree of *_healthy_* (many of the younger ones would say here now in the U.S., "toxic") masculinity. The men are still men, and the women are still women. That's changing in America today. And it's not good.

equally having talked to various female colleagues in Ukraine, one of the reasons that Western men were popular was because in one persons words, Ukrainian men are very romantic in courtship but when married a lot get into a 'am going out now with mates to drink vodka but have my dinner on table when i come back'. You see the same in Latin America combined with there the tendency of men to change their wives for a younger model (if they dont already have a mistress which in some places is almost the norm)

Yeah, well I rented a 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a great bathroom and 2 full bedrooms that could have slept 8. Spotless and comfortable. Comparable would be a suite at Residence Inn in the USA that would be $300 a night. $24 a night in Varemche. Off season of course because it is only 10 kilometers from a great ski resort and it is September. Its not only the girls ( I am 71 years old and it is nice to be treated with affection by these beautiful 30 something women instead of the contempt I would get from any American woman under 50 ), it is nice to be able to afford anything I want. It is also nice to pay $400 for a root canal and crown instead of $3000 for the same at a cut rate dental office and a Pakistani dentist.

Is it that they are just disrespectful in US, or you were trying to date/have sexual relationship with women 20 plus years younger? If you are in your 70s, why would a 30 something woman date you? That is not appropriate. Guess I don't understand why you would pursue attention from someone that is younger than your grandkids

And its so true, that Ukraines ' weaather, is like Chicago's. Also, I've been going to Ukraine, every summer, for the last ten years. I like it better and better, the more I get to know it, and also, learn to speak Russian, more and more. Ive been to Karkiv, but not to Sume. I would like to go there sometime, because.
