    I've been viewing your demos for awhile. It's the place to go before purchasing.
    Thanks. You're doing a grand job.
    I trust your judgement and by the way, you're a fine musician..
    Keep up the good work.

    Aside from being great demos, this is such a kickass resource for getting inspiration when my blues playing feels bored.

    Love this pedal. In Germany its sold under the brand "Harley Benton" ... and for some plexy-like tones there is the Ultimate Drive (Fulltone OCD clone)

    I got mine yesterday and am very pleased with it. I used to own a TS-9 and this is very similar with a little extra gain. It sounds great with single coils on a Stratocaster, very bluesy. It really shines with the gain at 11:00, like a vintage tube amp breaking up. The character of the pickups still cut through even at higher gain levels. It is perfect for classic rock and blues; don't expect to get Megadeth and Slayer tones out of it.
    Amazon says that it comes with a battery, but mine didn't come with one. So don't expect a battery if you order from there. However, for $35 CAN, I can let it slide. It is made in China (hence the low price). If something goes awry, I do have the soldering skills and a multimeter to diagnose any problems. Hopefully it will last though, might add a switch for asymmetrical hard cliipping at a later date. I am a tinkerer by nature.

    Ok this vid has me sold on this little pedal! I was worried because I saw another vid where I wasn’t convinced. I guess because they didn’t play with the drive knob enough.

    Thanks shane for the great demo! Good audio quality and great playing as always
    Your blues licks are an inspiration
    what i really dig about your channel is, that you also demo a lot of cheap pedals, which of course sound great. Not only expensive boutique pedals which many blues guitarists favor.
    I built pedals myself and i can tell you, its the circuit that makes the tone, not the brand ;)

    This is amazing! Officially my favorite (and cheapest) pedal on my board. Built like a Sherman tank! Super warm and creamy. Perfectly simulates an overdrive vintage tube amp. I'm pushing a 2011 custom shop strat. (Stock), and a Crate V-8 tube amp. "US MODEL" . BEYOND INCREDIBLE!

    Really nice review, but I wish you'd played some rhythm, some actual song riffs... Sounds great for lead, but I'd like to know how it sounds with some chords etc! After all, in a band that's what you're playing most of the time.

    • @davecarpenter7266
      @davecarpenter7266 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      MrJim1972 it sounds great for chords. I use mine after a blues driver which I use for a boost and the Joyo drive setting around 8oclock, lovely

    • @jonathanhandsmusic
      @jonathanhandsmusic 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrJim1972 It sounds good for rhythm guitar. I know the video is 5 years old but It's still a great pedal and very inexpensive too. I bought one when it first came out and it isn't flashy and the paint job is boring but it does exactly what Shane said it does. Sounds like a tube amp cranked a bit.

      heavenly81 curious to say, cause all of these cheap "green" overdrive pedals (joyo, element, maxon, twinote) have the very same PCB, with the very same components, with the only different thing being the silkscreened logo in the board. I have the element overdrive, joyo and twinote, and after opening them, they are the same.

    Love your demos and advice and subscribed to your channel. I have a Joyo Vintage in the post already but want to stack a Crunch or Sweet Baby on to it. Will eventually own both but need to decide best route to go first. Can you stack a sweet baby with VO and which one would give the most versatility. Im using a Epi lp classic 2019 as well as an Epi lp soecial Vintage Edition. Keep up the awesome stuff!

      The Sweet Baby is a much lighter overdrive. Also, it doesn't have a tone control. The Sweet Baby is a bit brighter sounding, and doesn't have the mid hump you'll get from the Vintage. Which is better really depends on your needs.

    I think that you just dont know to record the sound of amp. Everything sounds preety the same. I recorded old fender bassman with cannon camera in 44.100 stereo and you can hear that it is strong animal and recorded sound is killing. In your videos bassman sound dissapointing, like everything else
