I really like my UZI and got it for over 2 years on my board and never wanted to change it for another distortion pedal , like others in the past 40 years of Rocknroll ...its a real banger ..luv it..!
It's crazy how joyo makes these things so cheap and they sound absolutely wicked. Most of my rig is actually joyo. Ive been using the argos ( precision drive ) and the rigel ( ksr ceres ) together with great success. Gotta love em.
I have the dark flame and the chopper z. there's alot of overlap in all their distortion pedals but each can do something kind of unique. I also have the zombie and jackman amps joyo makes really good stuff.
I paid $80 for a Boss hm-2 in 1985. That’s equal to about $243 today. They came out at $90 (about $285 today) according to google. I don’t play death metal but it seems price range hasn’t changed but you get more for your dollar today…sometime and there are a million more to choose from.
The joyo pedal is pretty awesome. I run an acoustic guitar with a Dean Markley pickup into it and into a Peavy clean amp. You can dial practically any guitar sound that you want including a Marshall.
I'm a big fan of joyo. Their tube screamer is awesome. Sounds better than my ts9. I'm going to be picking up a zombie II soon as well as a 10 band eq to run in the fx loop.
I got the joyo extreme and it slays for 40.00 and im not easy to please about my axe tones. I play rhythm n it needs to be meaty n crunchy, check 💯 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for the review, I'm going to look into this pedal because of what you just demonstrated. And I think you meant this pedal is less than half the price of The Violet. At just before 11:00, you said it was more than half the price of The Violet.
I use a Joyo Argos Drive as a boost into my Uzi, with the gain on both pedals set to 0, and then that runs into the front of my Joyo Oxford Sound, which then feeds the clean channel of my Orange Super Crush 100. I use that for double tracking to layer over the drive channel of the Super Crush boosted by just the Argos Drive with the gain at 9 o'clock. Both end up in the 80's hard rock/90's hardcore range on the gain. Hard pan one to each side, and layer a stoner rock or entombed style chainsaw sound using an Eyemaster, Turbo Rat, and Behringer BDI-21 down the middle as a triple track underneath to fill out the rest of the gain. Live the rhythm player just uses an ABY pedal to run their rig and the chainsaw at the same time. I actually use it for symphonic blackened deathcore, lol, with the songs in Drop B, and the bass on a 6 string tuned to F# standard (nasty inverted power chords and dissonant chugs - trust me, I always write for a bass that can go lower than the guitar. C-F#-B chugs sound putrid with the open low F# underneath). Funniest part is, I'm the tonesmith for my band, crafting all the guitar and bass tones - we legit have our bass player using a combo DI/Bi-Amp rig, efectively doing the Joey Sturgis triple process split live - but I'm not the guitarist or bass player - I'm the vocalist, lmao. We need another guitarist, speaking of. Anyone here in Puget Sound region of Washington?
I love the lighting on my Joyo pedal. How could it not be anyone's cup of tea? I know some people won't like it but I will never relate to those people. It's extremely cool!
The grey fuzz is a really good triangle fuzz. Your company should let us know some more of the circuits you are using. I would buy more if i knew more about which circuits they emulate.
Bias to the right sounds like it'd be good in a band with a bass and a drummer holding down the low end, bias in the middle sounds more full for solo practise.
I left a comment already, but I wanted this to be separate from the other one so it will get read. I just used the link in the description for this pedal, and it is already up to $48, probably because of this review. This is my third comment, I don't usually do this, but I am thinking of buying this pedal and I want to make sure I know what I'm buying. The power adapter is not included with the pedal, and if you buy the pedal and adapter together, the price is now $52.10. I still think this is a pretty good deal from what we were shown the pedal can do. Anyone use these already and know if they are as good as advertised?
This and buffer Dark Flame DemonFx R4 buffer Joyo Argos ,with DemonFx TS and a EHX linear boost in front of that. After R4 Behringer 7 band, Looper with CDR effects into Mooer Radar and out to stereo Blackstar mini stack and My Monitors That is ABYed with BlackBox Mvave, Zoom G1.4, Korg PXD4, into presonus Revelator io44 out to VHT red line 6 power amp into a 4 12 seismic. Every tone I could ever dream of and every product was 50 dollars or less. I spent 70 on Radar but order MVave IR box. I made so Much money,300$ selling off My boutique pedals that don’t even sound on par! Not like 400 I’m talking You UAFX and I want that fst100
This Pedal is better! Eagletone/Biyang/Donner OTD-100 it is an 18 Volt Tube Overdrive/Distortion with a Vox Ice 9 Overdrive and a Joyo Octaver Fuzz the combo is amazing . It's enough to push a Fender Twin to the full 200 watts. I am not into heavy metal.
There's a few things Joyo I continue to love long after the initial purchase. A couple of their Bantamps and their rechargeable pedal power supply remain among my favorites.
Pedal makers can charge anything they want but the expensive one's won't get a dime of my money. Let's face it, your new pedal purchase will soon and most likely sit in a box somewhere. Good on Joyo and good on their customers.
As a guy who livrs and breathes Marshalls, the Uzi - and the BE-OD it clones - is just ok. It does some Marshall tones, sucks at others. Which is why you need a Joyo British Sound, same price, clones the Tech 21 Character Series British pedal, and tbqh its better than a true 1:1 solid state recreation of a JCM 800. Just has more, and if you get bored? Turn the Character knob left and you're in Bluesbreaker territory.
The pedal didn’t impress me at all tbh. I have joyo compression pedal, which is great, so cheap pedals can be very good. But this pedal has some weird over the the top distortion sound. Maybe it was because you ran it through an already distorted amp.
What many viewers will look for in a review is information that could help us decide if we should buy this pedal for 25 dollar, or if it would be better to pay 30 dollar more to buy another pedal or possibly even 75 dollar more for another pedal. But after watching this review and a few others for other pedals, the only thing i have learned is that all these pedals are 'excellent value for their money' (or not ;)) which is not really that helpfull for my decision ;) It eould be much more informative if YT reviews would actually review the quality of gear completely independent of their price, so i can make my own decision if it is good value for its money ;)
Not the best representation of the pedal. You lost me when you played it through an already overdriven sound. It's a distortion pedal, not an overdrive designed to boost. It's designed to BE the distortion.
Why don't you show it against the pedals that it 'smokes'? Not gonna argue that cheap pedals can be great but this sounds like turd in this demo. Not a single moment where I thought "damn, wish my guitar sounded like that".
I'm not sure if it's what we're hearing through the algorithm but rhythmically I'd agree the tone is either nasal or mid-y ?? It's not until the solo section it started to breath a bit. $40 can't argue its a steal as a starting platform to the "real" toys. Enjoyable though!!
🎸🔥🤘

Ya heard alot of good things about that argos pedal gonna pick it up sometime myself.
behringer, joyo, and Azor are the best cheapest pedals that china has to offer
thanks I didn't even know the argos existed.
Running it thru a Spark was the big problem.
Sparks aren't meant to have pedals going into them. The app has all the pedals you need
This demo is not doing it justice..read above comment
I think that's what I paid for my Tube Screamer in the late '70s.
so considering inflation, you've paid about 217$ in 2024 dollars
@@alexanderwald2046 I had to mow a lot of lawns for that stop box. But it has lasted 45 years of constant use.
Probably thats what you paid for your house back in the day

Geez
$37 Joyo 7 band eq pedal is amazing.
Great demo. Cool tones with AMAZING SHREDDING!!!! Thanks!!
I use that pedal as a boost like a tube screamer and it’s awesome
Heck yeah!!!
I have the dark flame and the chopper z. there's alot of overlap in all their distortion pedals but each can do something kind of unique. I also have the zombie and jackman amps joyo makes really good stuff.
Love this!
Adrian Smith uses a Tube Screamer to boost his solos ❤😮
Great review. Joyo makes great stuff.
It does get a good "Marshall Grind"!, Good Stuff!
7:51 it sounds good
I have one and it actually does an ampy overdrive real well too.
I dont know that this pedal even matters with the shred ability you have. That shits gonna sound great no matter what. Fantastic playing man!
Appreciate that my friend!
Agreed, this kid is good. He has his own style, more aggressive lead playing . More attitude, love it!
Nice... I own the R-15 Pre-Amp House. Its alot of fun through a tube power section.

Killer pedal. My rig as a teen was a HM2 and a peavey Bandit solo. Still have both.
The joyo pedal is pretty awesome. I run an acoustic guitar with a Dean Markley pickup into it and into a Peavy clean amp. You can dial practically any guitar sound that you want including a Marshall.
I use a joyo extreme metal peddle with my Schecter Diamond series and it sounds amazing
I have that guitar I’ll have to try that out
Wondering how to enterfor the giveaway? Thanks!
Sorry!! Link has been posted in description.
I'm a big fan of joyo. Their tube screamer is awesome. Sounds better than my ts9. I'm going to be picking up a zombie II soon as well as a 10 band eq to run in the fx loop.
No way , Joyo's TS is not nearly as good as the TS9 . For one it's ridiculously noisy .
@EDDIE-c7f8y meh, to each their own. I prefer it.
what's the name of Joyo Tube screamer?
@azliwinchester2100 vintage overdrive. It's green with yellow knobs and a metal round switch.
I got the joyo extreme and it slays for 40.00 and im not easy to please about my axe tones. I play rhythm n it needs to be meaty n crunchy, check 💯 🤘🤘🤘

Love the strangle hold tone ❤❤❤
The Uzi is my main distortion sound. But I can’t crank the gain past 9:00 or else it gets too distorted. Great review.

That's a really unique setup!
nice playing. seems like a great deal for the product.
Cool! Putting this on my Christmas list.
Get it, you won’t regret it!
One budget od/dist pedal that still blows me away is the Tone City Golden Plexi. Man that was an incredible value.
I love the lighting on my Joyo pedal. How could it not be anyone's cup of tea? I know some people won't like it but I will never relate to those people. It's extremely cool!
Sounds great, but I just have an actual Marshall next to my armchair.
Would you be interested in testing our guitar pedal

Rock on!
Great pedal!
What's the riff he starts playing at 4:15?
it sounds good because it's a clone of Friedman Be Od. There is also a clone of clone - Irin Uzi, two times cheaper
Im a bass player, I'm just happy to be here with my Avalon, Monolith, and double thruster!
I have the Chopper Z and Dark Flame. Joyo is doing a fantastic job in the affordable pedal market.
Totally agree!
Not a bad pedal. I really like MXR pedals. Thing is go and test out the stuff with the type of gear you have because it does really make a difference.
ty. after hearing it in your video i bought one.
Awesome!!
What about using it as an overdrive?? Volume on 10 gain at 0
What is the clean channel? What amp?
Bias to the right sounds like it'd be good in a band with a bass and a drummer holding down the low end, bias in the middle sounds more full for solo practise.
NICE PEDAL.
MY FIRST PEDAL WAS AMERICAN SCREAMER WHEN THEY CAME OUT AND SAME PRICE
Success!!!!! The guitar now sounds like a jar full of bees!!
Try the Tauren. its a great boost pedal.
It's a Klone, so, great boost, great od, and great midrangy distortion in one.

Is that a Harley Benton guitar?
yup
It absolutely is and it’s phenomenal
Where do you enter to win the guitar I can't find it
I have a Marshall Jackhammer distortion pedal...... THAT is Marshall in a box.
What amp are you playing through? A good review has to include that
Did I get a dud? I have to use mine with a OD pedal to get it crunchy...😒😒😒
I have this pedal. It's perfect
Yessir!
Is bias essentially a presence knob?
Hot Rocking!
Dude can shred...!
Sounds really muffled to me. Certainly doesn't sound anything like an actual amp.
There was great Joy-o in distortion land today!
