I know Shelters don't have professional photographers as it would be expensive but so many of the photos that appear on their websites do not do the dogs any favours and what a wonderful way to be able to assist in rehoming their dogs. Just as good as any cash donation..

They are loved. They just haven't met the people that love them yet. I adopted my rescue pup in April and we're madly in love already (August.) Four months in and I cannot imagine life without him.

Dearest Rita, what you do is so special. Words can’t express how much your selflessness bring so much hope and joy.
Rita’s video is evidence that we can all do something, however small it may seem, to help. Even if we cannot adopt, we can donate our “time”. If we don’t have time to volunteer at animal shelters and animal rescues, we can donate money. If a person doesn’t have any money, they can do other things to help! Even if all you do is forward photos of animals to potential new owners - you’re helping! Someone might get the photo of that dog, and say to themselves, “I should go to that shelter and find out more about that one”.
No one ever said we have to save the whole world - but we can do, whatever we can do, to help.
Sometimes the smallest gestures turn out to be the most meaningful!

Ofcourse it s sad to see them, but by crying you don t help them. Do something too, be volunteer for dogs (shelters need people to walk with the dogs for instance)..... or other animals who suffers

All my dogs in my life have come from a shelter and I am very glad to do this. I got my newest buddy this June after my 16-1/2 year old dog passed in December.

But their hearts are already broken.
If you do even small acts of kindness to help mend their hearts, your own will shine and soar with delight and joy.
No small act of kindness is ever wasted.
So it's UP to US to mend those hearts.
As a shelter volunteer and former employee, I can say that every shelter needs more volunteers like this. It's so worth it!

Take action and get dogs adopted
Yes, caring is wonderful. Prayers and good thoughts. But it's ACTION that saves their lives. You can advocate, volunteer, walk dogs or other activities if money is an issue. Fostering is great and any bills are paid. Save a life.
@@KindCountsDeb3773 Exactly! You can even just talk about it, spreading awareness about adopting and not littering/shopping. You could donate a small sum if you cant adopt, or if fostering is too expensive for you, you can take photos of the dogs and post them online so that people fall in love and go adopt them.

I was inspired by The Dodo, I called many shelters in italy (where we have between half a million and 700'000 stray dogs) until one said yes.
I fostered 14 puppies in 4 months.
They would've been on the streets littering on by now...
Even walking a shelter dog (approved) around your Home Depot, Lowe’s- etc.
Just need a small, medium and large jacket that said
“I’M A FOSTER DOG and I’m looking for a new family.”
(shelters will provide the jackets usually) It’s ONE day a month, or more if you can - spend the day shopping, park etc.

Honestly I cannot even watch this vid past 2:35 even tho I know it’s for a good cause. People(??) who do this are ever so much more than cruel and shallow... they disgust me. 😥😥😥😥😥

This video struck me in such a way that I wasn't crying just for the shelter dogs, who by the way are all so beautiful, but by the kindness of this woman. It's one thing to just take pictures, but to care as much as she does and to be helping in a way that puts their faces out there is inspiring. Thank you RIta, you are making this sad world better.

Yep, so many of us can help more than we currently do. So many more homes would do great with a dog or cat and they don't even realise it. These animals aren't asking for a lot. Just food, shelter and lots of love 💞

I am just crying….crying out of happiness for the ones saved and sadness for the ones who aren’t. I have had up to 17 dogs, most of them rescues. I’ve lost a few to cancer this past year. Thank you for helping them. My heart breaks for the ones who won’t make it out, who will never have a family. I don’t understand why the concept of spaying and neutering is so hard for people to grasp in this day and age and in this country. Is it laziness? I think so. There are so many programs out there to help people get it done that there are no excuses except people just can’t be bothered. The shelter population would not be ANYWHERE near what it is if people would just take responsibility for God sake. You have people who breed for money and those who let it happen because puppies and kittens are cute, until they aren’t and then the group that can’t be bothered to get their pets altered and discard the puppies/kittens by whatever means they can. Please encourage anyone you know with an intact dog or cat to get it altered. It makes a huge difference.

what a blessings!! I've not been able to go back to a shelter, dog or cat, because it also breaks my heart and I can't stop crying. I did adopt a rescue horse that was a "throw away" mare. We had 13 healing, happy years together. I continue to support via donations.

You would be a great home. Youcould adopt from a rescue org without going into a shelter if its too upsetting. And if you dont want to chose, ask the rescue to give you their most at risk animal.

I have fostered and rescued a few dogs over the years but I've only ever stepped foot in a shelter once in the UK and I cried my eyes out. It haunted me to see all of those wonderful dogs with so much love to give. This woman has my absolute respect.

Oh my. Seeing them in the cages just desperate for someone to notice them and want them was heartbreaking. I'd much rather take in a shelter dog than a puppy any day because of how much they've already suffered and how long they've been there, just wanting someone to love them! Older dogs are my favorites. I've had my own long lived dogs and old age is not a disease. Older dogs should expect and have a good life in their golden years. Bless this woman for caring and action. Seeing these poor dogs, who want both more than to love a family unconditionally, so broken and defeated absolutely rips my heart out. I cannot understand why any person would ever get a dog anywhere other than a shelter knowing that their are dogs in a plight such as this. I'm not religious but if there are any people doing 'god's work' it is people like this women helping the innocent creatures of this world. Dogs are the best, and when people are irresponsible we in no way deserve their love.

What a service this woman is performing! I began choking up and smiling at the same time when I saw how happy the dogs were when they were rescued. When I adopted my first shelter dog back in 1998, and got her into the car, she crawled into my lap, placed her head on my shoulder, and let out a huge sigh. I don’t cry easily but I bawled that night! I enjoyed Natalie for eleven great years after that. It’s 2022 and I still miss her.

What a great idea! This is something many of us can do..volunteer at our local shelter and help these wonderful pets get adopted. I may not be too handy with a camera but I can certainly help in other ways such as bathing or walking them. Anything to help them look their best.
She is right, we don't deserve dogs. Even though I fall short with my own, they are still there smiling at me, loving me, giving me a reason to keep going and trying. Without my two pups, I know I wouldn't be here today.
All these dogs wiggling and showing how much they want to be noticed and given a chance, is heartbreaking, but with the photos and videos of how they can be if saved by being adopted or even just taken out into a friendlier environment, that will make my day better👌💯

Yes Some really nice people wind up with dogs whose personalities bwhose personalities behaviors and dispositions do not match theirs in my personal opinion and that is all it is my opinion Maybe they should have researched the breed or maybe tried fostering the dog or animal prior to adoption I don't know I'm not an animal behavioralist or therapist with that being said here's your attention for the day OK are you happy someone responded as opposed to you.As opposed to you just scrolling by a comment that you either don't like or disagree with I don't understand people like you improbably never will is it that serious for you to you go in the mirror and hug yourself oh since you have so much to say about animals I would suggest you adopt one but I don't think you would probably be a good fit you would overanalyze it too much stress the Poor dog or cat out with that being said have a great day try to love yourself and stop being a nuisance. Oh goodness! I cried the whole way through this little film! I don't know that people deserve the unconditional love that's given by animals but I'm certainly happy that God saw fit to bless us with their love. There are so many people out in the world who like these animals, never hear a kind word, or have anyone to say "I love you!" I hope that every one of those people watch this video or see this woman's pictures, and gets the message that there is so much love out there that has nothing to do with other people. Get yourself a pet and you will never experience such undying gratitude and love in your life. Not only are the pets rescued but so are the people they love!
